Grid Computing Infrastructure Architecture Document

1.1 Purpose,

Thus Briefly we can say that the architecture of the Grid Enabled Secure Linux Kernel is the set of significant decisions about the organization of a software system, the selection of the structural elements and their interfaces by which the system is composed, together with their behavior as specified in the collaborations among those elements, the composition of these structural and behavioral elements into progressively larger subsystems, and the architectural style that guides the  organization--these elements and their interfaces, their collaborations, and their composition.

1.2 Definitions, Acronyms and Abbreviations

1.2.1 Grid

Grid is a type of parallel and distributed system that enables the sharing, selection, and aggregation of geographically distributed "autonomous" resources dynamically at runtime depending on their availability, capability, performance, cost, and users' quality-of-service requirements. It should be noted that Grids aim at exploiting synergies that result from cooperation--ability to share and aggregate distributed computational capabilities and deliver them as service.
