Abstract |
Secured Open Source Web Based Helpdesk System
is a helpdesk management system for the Secured Mail Unit, Malaysian Ministry of
Foreign Affairs. It is an online system which was developed to facilitate and
manage the incoming complaints from various users in the Malaysian governmental
ministries. Previously, it was performed manually by using a log book and jobs
were assigned based on the log book’s records. This system was developed using
PHP as the primary programming language and MYSQL as the database. Three
categories of users had been created to manage the system: normal user,
supervisor and admin. Every categories of user has their own responsibilities
and privileges in accessing the system. The security features such as MD5 for
message digest algorithm is one of the functionalities used to secure the saved
password in plain text to an encrypted form which cannot be easily interpreted.
It works by applying the cryptographic hash function which uses the 128 bit hash
value. This functionality had been employed in a wide variety of secured
applications and commonly used to check the data integrity. This system is
capable to record all the complaints received, show the status of the complaints
and monitor the progress of each complaint. It will segregate and distribute the
incoming requests to the technical support staffs and their respective
supervisors based on each team’s capabilities. Besides that, it is also
generates report periodically that supports managerial decision making process. |

Abstract |
Multiple-antenna systems are currently
enjoying increasing popularity and widespread applications in which, it can
improve the capacity and reliability of wireless receiver section. MIMO systems
utilize multiple antennas to increase the diversity gain of wireless
communication systems. Space Time Block Coding (STBC) is a MIMO-based algorithm,
which efficiently exploits spatial and temporal diversity. In this paper , the
analytical results for the bit error rate (BER) of M-ary Phase Shift Keying(MPSK)
in a slow ,flat Rayleigh fading channel for a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO)
system using an Alamouti transmission scheme and Maximal Ratio Combining scheme
is studied and simulated using matlab tool box. This paper analyses the
performance of Generalized Space-time sum of squares (GSTSoS) receiver section
scheme. The simulation results show that as the number of receivers is increased
the Bit Error Rate(BER) of the system is decreased. |

Abstract |
Comprehending Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) is
not an easy task especially by novice students. The problem occurs during the
transition from learning fundamental programming language concept to OOP
concept. It is very important to handle this problem from the beginning before
novices learn more advanced OOP concepts like encapsulation, inheritance, and
polymorphism. Learning programming from source code examples is a common
behavior among novices. Novices tend to refer to source codes examples and adapt
the source codes to the problem given in their assignments. To cater the
problems faced by these novices, a novel agent-based model have been designed to
assist them in comprehending OOP concepts through source codes examples. The
instructor needs to provide two related source codes that are similar but in
different domain. Generally, these source codes go through the preprocessing,
comparison, extraction, generate program semantics and classification processes.
A formal algorithm that can be applied to any two related Java-based source
codes examples is invented to generate the semantics of these source codes. The
algorithm requires source codes comparison based on keyword similarity to
extract the words that exist in the two related source codes. Three agents
namely SemanticAgentGUI, semanticAgent and noviceAgent are designed in the
proposed model. The running system shows an OOP semantic knowledge
representation by intelligent agents |

Abstract |
This paper presents a discreet linear predictive
control (DLPC). This strategy is applied to permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM)
for monitoring the speed at trajectory and rejection of disturbance. The
predictive control law is obtained by using a cost function and a Taylor series
to perform prediction in a finite horizon. No information on the external
disturbances and uncertainty parameters are necessary to ensure the robustness
of the proposed strategy. Furthermore, in order to maintain the current phase
within the saturation we used a cascade structure with a block anti-windup.
Simulation results demonstrated the stability, robustness and effectiveness of
control strategy proposed for the trajectory tracking and disturbance rejection
of torque |

Abstract |
Effort to apply computational power to the combined
chemical and biological space in order to streamline computer aided drug
discovery and development is the spirit of scientific method. India is a world
capital of diabetes. Immediate attention is required for the development of a
novel drug for diabetes. Though Type 2 Diabetes has many drugs, it lacks 100%
effective cure. The drug design is mainly based on target identification,
protein-ligand interactions and the active site residues. An investigation has
been carried out to study the mode of binding as well as the affinities of
drug-like compounds for 1AH3(aldose reductase)from ZINC database(a free database
for virtual screening) as anti-diabetic agents by performing protein – ligand
interactions using various docking software. |

Abstract |
Many universities around the world are
investing in implementing different Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) to
support the teaching and learning process. However, without an effective
implementation, many objectives and advantages are unachieved. Therefore, a well
designed strategy to follow is vital to the success of an effective
implementation. There has not been that much attention in the literature of how
to support and manage the change to a successful implementation of such
technologies. This paper presents a suggested framework of an implementation
plan for a VLE in a higher education institution. Discussion focuses on the need
for an effective approach to change management that is flexible and able to vary
in pace according to the needs of users. The framework is developed based on the
e-learning change management literature and that and on the review of the
literature which is based on the experience of a number of universities around
the world. The paper also presents an investigation and identification of the
main reasons behind resistance to change to the acceptance and adoption a VLE in
higher education institutions |

Abstract |
The current problems in wireless systems are
multi-path propagation, frequency selective fading, Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI)
and Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI), with the major challenge being
transmission of information having high data rates over long distances. The
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems solve a few of the
above stated problems by the use of diversity schemes, which increase the
reliability and security of the message. By adopting Multiple-Input
Multiple-Output (MIMO) and OFDM technologies, wireless systems could reach data
rates up to several hundreds of Mbps and achieve spectral efficiencies of
several tens of bits/Hz/s, which are unattainable for conventional Single-Input
Single-Output (SISO) systems. This paper deals with the simulation of Space Time
Frequency (STF) coded OFDM system. The coding schemes like Space Time (ST),
Space Frequency (SF) and Space Time Frequency (STF) coding are compared and from
the results it is proved that STF scheme performs better than ST and SF schemes.
The Space Time Frequency coded communication system when is used along with
diversity schemes like MIMO and Multiple Input Single Output (MISO) is compared
for their performance over a fading channel having inherent noise, and it is
further proved that MIMO performs better than MISO schemes. |

Abstract |
Although strategic thinking is so important
in strategic management, actually its role in the Organizational Vision
Designing remains unrealized and vague. The element that would pave the way of
better understanding this phenomenon is Organizational Intelligence. In a
comprehensive definition can be said that strategic thinking is organization
architecture and using of the employees’ individual intelligence. The aim of
this paper is studying on the impact of Organizational Intelligence on Strategic
Thinking and identifying the relationship between dimensions of these two
variables. Hypotheses have been proposed in the form of a conceptual model and
results achieved by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) methodology. In
this case, we used the Albert’s model to determine dimensions of Organizational
Intelligence and the Liedtka’s model for dimensions of strategic thinking he
results show that these variables are associated together. Therefore, to improve
Strategic objectives in organizations it is recommended that senior managers
should consider the linkage (relation) of these two variables. |

Abstract |
Reliability is an important aspect in the distributed system studies and
developments. Distributed processes are an instance of a running program, which
are either concurrent or parallel. The distributed processes exhibit more
dynamism. The processes also have peculiar characteristics like message passing,
load sharing, fault tolerance, fault resilience and recovery. The program
reliability analysis encounters a variety of distributed programs. These
programs reside in several nodes. Each program has a composite structure. The
functions and data are composite. In order to perform reliability analysis of
distributed programs the programs are run in the distributed computing
environment. Studying and analyzing the programs derive the configuration of the
programs by reduction. The program code is read and analyzed by the analyzer
program. The program flow is checked. Then the appropriate program flow graph is
derived. It is then classified into one of serial configured, parallel
configured program or mixed configured program. Once configured, the system can
be evaluated perfectly. Reliability of such a system can be easily evaluated by
taking into account the reliability of independent components. |
