Abstract |
Due to the shortcomings of the traditional drilling way, as well as the
complexity and difficult mathematical model of the drilling process, etc, this
paper briefly analyses the principle of auto-drilling system on AC frequency
conversion and the relationship among all factors that affects on the
auto-drilling and puts forward a technology that combines parameters'
self-tuning fuzzy control with constant WOB(Weight On Bit) auto-drilling
technology on AC frequency conversion. Through the judgment of drilling pressure
trend, the application of parameters' self-tuning fuzzy control realizes the
control of the rig's speed. The algorithm does not need accurate mathematical
model, and it can learn to fix control parameters in real time by itself. The
test shows that the control system has good performance and ensures constant WOB
and stable speed in auto-drilling, and the control algorithm can also be used in
other auto-drilling systems. |

Abstract |
Work roll thermal contour is one of the important factors for roll contour
design and configuration in hot strip rolling, for which the temperature field
calculation is a critical factor. To realize the work roll thermal behavior for
1450mm hot strip mill, the temperature field and thermal contour calculation
model was built with finite different methods, and the genetic algorithm was
introduced to the model parameter optimization in order to improve the
simulation precision. It was proved that the model can match the engineering
precision requirement by the comparison between several calculated values and
measured values of the work roll temperature. With the model, the work roll
thermal contour variations in a rolling process, as well as the effect of
rolling rhythm and shifting strategy on the work roll thermal contour were
calculated. The results show that the work roll thermal crown varies relatively
fast at the beginning of a rolling unit, and then tends to be stable. In the
rolling process, the rolling rhythm shows great influence on the work roll
thermal contour, while the shifting strategy shows little influence. |

Abstract |
With the growing expansion of data size, in-depth study on the social network
clustering algorithm gets prominence. A wide range of researches, from the
spectral clustering based on modularity, the hierarchical overlapping clustering
algorithm to clustering algorithm based on local information, are mainly based
on local neighbor information. The current network node cluster typically has a
lower time complexity, thus more suitable for large-scale network data sets. In
this paper a detailed analysis of the LPA algorithm based on local information
is done. The algorithm is not only able to effectively tap the cluster structure
of social networks, but also the concept is more simple and easy to be
understood. Further research and analysis show that the LPA algorithm in the
network cluster structure of the division can be further enhanced, so this
article is committed to this direction. The LPA algorithm is proposed to improve
the LPA-the SNA algorithm. |

Abstract |
Handwriting recognition is a main topic of Optical Character Recognition (OCR),
which has a very wide application. Hidden Markov model is a popular model for
handwriting recognition because of its effectiveness and robustness. In this
paper, a hidden Markov model with parameter- optimized k-means clustering is
proposed for handwriting recognition. Two deep features of the images of
characters are explored, thus significantly boosts the effectiveness of k-means
clustering. The experiments show that this model largely increases the average
accuracy of HMM with k-means clustering to 83.5% when the number of clusters is

Abstract |
Discrete granular model in a low stress state as well as retaining homogeneous
porosity is the premise and foundation to obtain good results with particle flow
method. AutoCAD is used as the processing software in which Polyline is used to
render the scope of modeling and the 3dface is used to set delivery area of
particles, then the improved expansion-particle method is prepared for
generating boundary Wall and command flow of PFC2D automatically. Next, servo
boundary is used to adjust stress state among particles and the porosity of
model. Finally, the required numerical model will be obtained by using the
arbitrary polygon material borderline to control and divide materials into
parts. It is proved that a method with visualization is useful for the
construction of complex discrete granular model. It can also be used in any 2D
model building. What’s more, it is less overlap and none overflow after the
damage of bond strength between particles. |

Abstract |
High fire occurrence in Riau Province, Indonesia has been going on in the recent
years with large areas occurring in the peat soil. In this paper a data mining
technique namely classification was applied on forest fire data to develop
classification models for hotspots occurrence in Riau Province. The models
provide characteristics of areas where active fires occurred. We studied
physical data including land cover, road, river, city centers, industrial timber
plantation, logging concession, peatland depth and peatland types to classify
2693 target objects. Target objects are true alarm data namely hotspots
distribution in 2008 and false alarm data which are randomly generated within
the areas at least 1 km away from any true alarm data. We applied three
classification algorithms that are available in the data mining toolkit Weka
3.6.2: J48 module as Java implementation of C4.5 algorithm, SimpleCart and
NaïveBayes. The result shows that the classifier generated from the J48 has
highest accuracy i.e. 69.59 % compared to two other algorithms. Our results
based on the J48 classifier show that hotspots are predicted to take place in
areas that (1) are non logging concession areas, (2) are plantation and dryland
forest, and (3) have peatland type: Very deep Hemists/Saprists (> 400 cm).
Additionally, hotspot occurrence probability is higher in areas located 10 km
from roads, 3 km from rivers and within 5 km to 20 km of city centers where the
areas are accessible to humans. |

Abstract |
The best way to approach requirements analysis is a process of parallel
analysis. The designing of any software system starts from its scratch of
requirement analysis because requirements are building blocks of a system. SysML
tool is the System Modelling Language tool used for the graphical representation
of the requirements using Requirements Diagram. Requirements given by the user
are the relationships in the real world and application domains but not about
the software system or the interface with the software system. These are the
basic philosophies of problem frames (PF) approach which is a requirement
analysis technique. Here in this paper we discuss about the SysML tool usage on
the problem domain given to the analyser and the application of PF approach in
decomposing and analysing the requirements to develop the requirements statement
which will be given to the design phase to be recursively analysed and the
system will be developed. The paper deals with the above mentioned approach to
the modelling of requirements of the Critical Goods Transportation Monitoring
System that proves to be the best analysis technique of requirements for the
mentioned system so far. |

Abstract |
Local governments in Indonesia have received greater authority since the
enactment of regional autonomy and fiscal decentralization. Most of them are
running websites that should play important roles as public information access.
This research measured financial information transparency as well as information
or feature richness of the websites of 33 provinces, 395 districts and 96
cities. Generally, the result indicates the occurrence of the geographical
digital divide between local authorities located in Java Island and those in
other islands. Based on the series of two years data collection and
measurements, there were no significant improvement on information richness and
website features. This indicates that the most websites of local governments in
Indonesia have not been fully utilized for public services. |

Abstract |
In this novel paper we propose real time visual authentication based on real
time image matching using fuzzy moment descriptors, these descriptors are
estimated for three common kinds of image attributes namely edge, shade and
mixed range. Generally the methods for matching of digital images by the
comparison of the positions of directed edges, shades and mixed-range in the
captured image with the existing image present in the Data Base, are often prone
to error, due to noise and/or variation in illumination. Since a Fuzzy moment
descriptors being less sensitive to noise, so it makes the matching process
invariant to the above said external disturbances. Further, the normalization
and sorting of the moment vectors keep the matching process invariant to size
and rotation of images. So in this paper we have considered the fuzzy moment
descriptors for matching of digital images and the implementation of the propose
work is done using openCv software package interface with the visual c++ to
capture the real time image and convert into the gray image and after that,
fuzzy moment descriptors for image matching and authentication. |

Abstract |
Superresolution (SR) is a method of enhancing image resolution by combining
information from multiple images. Two main processes in superresolution are
registration and image reconstruction. Both of these processes greatly affect
the quality image of the superresolution. Accurate registration is required to
obtain high-resolution image quality. This research propose a collaboration
between Phase-Based Image Matching (PBIM) registration, and reconstruction using
Structure - Adaptive Normalized convolution algorithm (SANC) and Projection Onto
Convex sets algorithm (POCs). PBIM was used to estimate translational
registration stage. We used the function fitting around the peak point, to
obtain sub pixel accurate shift. The results of this registration were used for
reconstruction. Three registration method and two reconstruction algorithms have
been tested to obtain the most appropriate collaboration by measuring the value
of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). The result showed that the collaboration
of PBIM and both reconstruction algorithm, SR with PBIM and POCs have PSNR
average of 32.12205, while PSNR average of SR with SANC algorithm was 32.07325.
For every collaborative algorithms that have been tested, registration PBIM with
function fitting, has an higher average PSNR value than the Keren and Marcel
registration. |

Abstract |
In recent years, there is an increasingly growth in the transactions of virtual
goods among online game players. Few studies have examined the perceived values
of virtual goods and how gaming motivation drives the purchase of virtual goods.
In this paper, we took one popular online game “World of Warcraft” as a case
study, using structural equation model, and explored the relationship between
gaming motivations and virtual goods’ multi-dimensional values, as well as the
inter-relationship of multi-dimensional values of virtual goods. Results showed
that achievement motivation and discovery motivation had a positive effect on
the perceiving of virtual goods’ functional value; self-expression motivation
and the perceiving of social value were positively related. Among the
multi-dimensional consumption values, the perception of functional values has a
weak positive effect on the perception of emotional values; the perception of
social values plays as a significant intermediate variable between the
perceiving of functional values and emotional values. |

Abstract |
Rotating machinery vibration analysis involves a convolute mixture because of
the propagation medium, and the signals recorded by sensors in an industrial
application are often disrupted by the environment. Deconvolution is a signal
processing method for convolution of vibration sources, spectral kurtosis is a
statistical tool which can indicate the presence of series of transients and
their locations in the frequency domain in strong noise case. In this paper, we
propose an approach for the two characteristics based on blind deconvolution and
spectral kurtosis. First the two methods blind deconvolution and spectral
kurtosis are reviewed, and then puts forward the combination of the two methods
to extract the fault feature from multi-sources convolution and strong noise in
rotating machinery vibration, Finally apply the combination method to a bearing
failure test, the test results show good performance for extraction of fault
features in rotating machinery vibration. |

Abstract |
In text classification, the purity of the Gini index can be used. When purity
value is greater, the characteristic of the information contained in the
attribute is higher, and the feature distinguishing capability is stronger. But
using the Gini purity formula on feature weight, the classification result is
not very good, one of the main reasons is those rare words only appearing in one
category and not appearing in other categories can not be strictly
differentiated. In order to solve this problem, On the basis of Gini index, an
improved feature weight method based on Gini index has proposed. By introducing
the approximation quality of features term in the categories, according to the
category distinguishing ability adjust term weight, using the purity formula
feature weight comparison, the above problem is well solved, which can
effectively improve the performance of text classification. The experiments have
verified the feasibility of the proposed method. |

Abstract |
This paper studies the multiple relays amplify-and-forward (AF) cooperative
communication system with adaptive continuous (ACR) and discrete rate (ADR) M-QAM
modulation in Rayleigh fading channel. The average spectral efficiency of the
fixed ACR, ADR M-QAM schemes with various number of relays are researched and
analyzed. We first obtain quantitative spectral efficiency loss for the fixed
rate M-QAM scheme resulting from the increasing number of the relay nodes. It is
verified that under certain BER level, the adaptive M-QAM scheme achieves
significant efficiency gains over the non-adaptive one. And, the more
constellation size is available in ADR M-QAM, the closer the BER approaches to
the target level and the more potentialities of the spectral efficiency can be
realized. |

Abstract |
Vision-based vehicle type (model) recognition is a hot topic in the domain of
intelligent transportation systems. But it is difficult to recognize the exact
type (model) of a vehicle due to the influence of some factors, for example, the
view variations. In this paper, we present a robust system of recognition of the
type (model) of vehicles from several frontal vehicle images. We use the height
of the number plate as a reference to eliminate the zoom effect. From this
reference, we extract several geometrical parameters (distance, surface, ratio
…) of decision, on bases of images taken in real conditions, were tested and
analyzed. Employing this model, a distance error process allows measuring the
similarity between an input instance and the data bases classes. The fusion of
the three classifiers using the artificial neural networks (ANN) for each
parameter allows showing the effectiveness of our process for the identification
of the type of vehicle. We obtain taking a threshold of 90% a False
Identification Ratio (FIR) of 1.6% and a False Rejection Ratio (FRR) of 3%. The
network was tested and it was capable of classifying the type of vehicle of the
taken database and a classification ratio of about 97% was obtained. And the
minimized error percentages constitute an additional factor for the success of
the verification system. According to these parameters, the rate of
identification can reach 97% on a basis of a realistic data set of over 1000
images made up of 12 models and 9 classes of the type of vehicles. The results
show that this approach achieves very high levels of both identification and
verification performance. |

Abstract |
Suspension system design is a challenging task for the automobile designers in
view of multiple control parameters, complex objectives and stochastic
disturbances. For vehicle, it is always challenging to maintain simultaneously a
high standard of ride, handling and body attitude control under all driving
conditions. The problems stem from the wide range of operating conditions
created by varying road conditions, vehicle speeds, and loads. A good vehicle
suspension system should have satisfactory road holding ability, while still
providing comfort when riding over bumps and holes in the road. When the vehicle
is experiencing any road disturbance such as pot holes, cracks, speed breaker
and uneven pavement, the vehicle body should not have large oscillations, rather
the oscillations should dissipate quickly. This research is carried out to study
the performance of two basic suspension systems with a different approach,
passive and active suspension system. For the simplicity, mathematical modeling
is done by assuming 2 degree of freedom (2 DOF) system. Quarter car model is
used to simplify the system. To analyze the model, simulation software MATLAB/SIMULINK
is used. Results show that active suspension system has better ability to reduce
the pick overshoot of sprung mass and also provides better damping quality than
passive suspension system. |

A META-MODEL FOR THE SPATIAL CAPABILITY ARCHITECTURE |

Abstract |
It is observed that most initiatives in the field of spatial (geospatial)
information, applications and technologies are tackled without a holistic view
of the enterprise and its organizational framework within which these
initiatives are to be implemented, resulting in many difficulties. The solution
to this problem is to utilize the routines that are common in enterprise
architecture management in order to bring in the necessary level of
transparency, manageability, and synergy across the complex environment of a
corporation because architecting an enterprise is about understanding how things
work together and how to make changes of architecture feasible and this is a
prerequisite for every successful business change. For better understanding of
the spatial capability one needs to realize what the architecture of the
capability is and how it can be documented in order to communicate the
architecture description clearly and allow one to establish a baseline for
further work. The first step towards clarifying this is to describe the
fundamental structure of how the capability is delivered and executed in the
organization and thus the objective of this paper is to define a meta-model for
the spatial capability architecture. Resources and method of meta-model
development are documented as well as notation used to express the meta-model.
Further work should address area of spatial capability development and
definition of common spatial capabilities for reference purpose. The defined
meta-model is a part of the framework which is intended to support spatial
capability development. |

Abstract |
Test automation has always been looked upon as a magic formula to improve the
quality processes of products/applications right from the day when first
commercial product/application was made. But when one actually starts automating
the testing, the ground realities are realized. Defining the scope of automation
and selection of right tool for automation are over-whelming in the first place.
And even if these teething troubles are overcome, the automation tool developed
is usually inefficient as lots of important considerations are over-looked.
This paper aims at the following it suggest the solution of the above mentioned
issues, It suggests best practices to be followed while doing the automation. It
also aims at organizations who consider automating their testing process. It

in the cement industry. The simulated design is universal and applicable to all
kinds of cement plants. Client-server architecture is established and the
generated parameters are communicated to Matrikon OPC client. Single Line
Diagram of the electrical distribution of cement plant has also been developed
using MS Visio. An exclusive user interface has been designed to monitor and
analyze the electrical parameters in detail. The KWh/tonne consumption and %
energy consumed by the workshops have been observed and tabulated. Also, all the
process and electrical data are exported to NI Citadel Database. So, in a single
design, all the relevant key performance indicators (KPI’s) for the process are
calculated and displayed. |

Abstract |
This paper expands a nonlinear fuzzy based control strategy applied to a
variable speed Wind Energy Conversion System WECS founded on Doubly Fed
Induction Generator DFIG. As power network assists a high wind energy emergence,
the studied WECS represents a wind farm WF of 500MW connected to the Grid and
dispatched in such a way that it can contribute to grid frequency control with
delivering a stable output equaling the power setpoint and keep a reserve for
eventual increasing. Basing on the rotor currents maneuvering, the active power
control is achieved independently to reactive power being adjustable according
to grid request. The system is modeled using PSCAD/EMTDC linked to MATLAB for
the fuzzy logic controllers FLC implementation. FLC are based on Takagi-Sugeno
Fuzzy Logic Controller TSFC. Despite the wind speed fluctuations, results show a
stable output following carefully a gradual change in power reference. Moreover,
a THD analysis confirms the best quality of grid injected power. |
