NEW MODEL TRANSFORMATION USING REQUIREMENT TRACEBILITY FROM REQUIREMENT TO UML
BEHAVIORAL DESIGN |
Author: |
NURI JAZULI KAMARUDIN, NOR FAZLIDA MOHD SANI, RODZIAH ATAN,NORAINI CHE PA |
Abstract: |
Model transformation (MT) has become an important concern in Software
Engineering [1], because it is related to system design. Model transformation
can be used in many different application scenarios, for instance, to provide
interoperability between models of different size and complexity [2].
Traditionally, model transformations are done for purposes such as code
generation, refinement, and refactoring [3]. Currently, there are researches on
Model Transformation from Requirement to Use Case diagram, Use Case description
to Activity diagram and Use Case to Sequence Diagram and many more. However, the
research is based on only one specific output and not comprehensive as it should
be because it only converts the requirement into one specific Unified Modeling
Language (UML) diagram at a time. Transformation model need one important
approach, which is the requirement traceability in order to trace the keywords
as input before automatically converted into UML diagram. In this paper, we
propose an approach and tool to transform the requirement into UML model that
are Use Case diagram and Activity diagram since there are still not exist the
transformation which is required from requirement into behavioral UML diagram
called RETRANS. It is different from the existing program because this tool will
convert the requirement into two different UML diagrams at a time which is not
provided by the existing tool.. We have also come out with a framework as the
main guidance for developing this project. |

ADAPTIVE FUZZY SLIDING MODE CONTROL FOR X-Z INVERTED PENDULUM |
Author: |
HENG LIU |
Abstract: |
X–Z inverted pendulum is a new kind of inverted pendulum and it can move with
the combination of the vertical and horizontal forces. In this paper, the
control problem of X-Z inverted pendulum with system uncertainties is addressed,
and a pair of decoupled adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control method is proposed.
The fuzzy logic system is employed to approximate the system uncertainties as
well as the complicated intermediate control functions. For updating the
parameter of the fuzzy system, a proportional-integral adaptation law is
proposed. Finally, simulation studies are carried out to show the stabilization
of the X-Z inverted pendulum under the proposed control method. |

SHEARLET-BASED INVERSE HALFTONING |
Author: |
CHENGZHI DENG, WEI TIAN, SAIFENG HU, 1YAN LI |
Abstract: |
Under the linear approximation model for error diffusion halftoning, a shearlet-based
inverse halftoning (SIH) algorithm is proposed. The SIH algorithm performs
inverse halftoning by first inverting the model-specified convolution operator
and then reducing the residual color noise using scalar shearlet-domain
thresholding. The optimal thresholds are derived by using the maximum a
posteriori rule. Experimental results demonstrate that SIH algorithm is
competitive with state-of-the-art classical inverse techniques in peak
signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) sense. And the SIH algorithm also provides good
visual quality. |

HYBRID APPROACH FOR ENERGY OPTIMIZATION IN CLUSTER BASED WSN USING ENERGY
BALANCING CLUSTERING PROTOCOL |
Author: |
T.SHANKAR, Dr.S.SHANMUGAVEL |
Abstract: |
In recent times, the technology of wireless sensor network has a great impact on
technical fields like wireless communication, information technology, electrical
etc. However the major problem faced in this technology is that the sensor nodes
run out of energy very quickly. Many routing protocols have been proposed to
solve this problem mainly focussing on the accomplishment of minimizing the
energy consumption in the sensor system. In this paper, two hierarchical
protocols cluster based and chain based protocol for WSNs have been discussed.
In both type of protocols some special nodes called cluster heads/chain heads
acts as leader for a group of nodes. Each head collects data from its member
nodes and forward it to the sink (base station). Here consider a homogeneous
network where all the nodes in the network have uniform and limited resource
energy. So it is essential to avoid quick depletion of head nodes. Hence every
node in the network takes their turn to act as head but only for a limited
period of time. Energy saving in these approaches can be obtained by cluster
formation, head election and data aggregation at the head nodes. The proposed
Energy Balancing Clustering Protocol (EBCP) which uses Bacterial Foraging
Optimization Algorithm in electing the cluster head. The simulation results
shows that the proposed protocol extends the life time of the network when
compared with Energy Efficient Unequal Clustering (EEUC)and PEGASIS with Double
Cluster Head technique(PDCH). |

CLASSIFICATION OF ECG BEATS USING FEATURES FROM TWO-STAGE TWO-BAND WAVELET
DECOMPOSITION |
Author: |
U.CHANDRASEKHAR, LAXMI DHAR DWIVEDI, CHIRANJI LAL CHOWDHARY |
Abstract: |
The paper focuses on computer aided diagnosis of heart diseases. We extracted
QRS complexes of ECG signals from different patients. These ECG signals were
decomposed using discrete wavelet transform. Using six different features of ECG
signals were able to discriminate and classify six types of heart beats. Three
of the features were statistically calculated from decomposed sub band signal.
Two more features are taken as AC power and instantaneous RR interval of
original signal. The effects of two wavelet decomposition structures, the
two-stage two-band and the two-stage full binary decomposition structures, in
the recognition of ECG beat types are studied. Either ANN or PNN are found to be
useful to classify the features. Results show that two stage two band
decomposition is sufficient and we can get very good accuracy by using just 11
features. The reason seems to be that most of the energy is concentrated in the
Lower sub bands of the signals. The Higher frequency components do not have any
notable information about diseases observable with ECG beat signals. |

ADAPTIVE NEURO-FUZZY INFERENCE SYSTEM BASED CONTROLLER FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE BLDC
MOTOR USING SOFT SWITCHING INVERTER |
Author: |
N. MURUGANANTHAM, Dr. S.PALANI |
Abstract: |
Permanent Magnet Brushless DC (PMBLDC) motor drives are increasingly popular in
industrial applications due to rapid progress of technologies in power
electronics and the growing demand for energy saving. The increasing demand of
energy saving from society is the external force for the development of PMBLDC
motor drives. It is however driven by a hard-switching pulse width modulation (PWM)
inverter, which has low switching frequency, high switching loss, high
electro-magnetic interference (EMI), high acoustic noise and low efficiency,
etc. To solve these problems of the hard-switching inverter, many soft-switching
inverters have been designed in the past. Unfortunately, high device voltage
stress, large dc link voltage ripples, complex control scheme and so on are
noticed in the existing soft-switching inverters. This paper presents the
comparative analysis between conventional PI, fuzzy, hybrid fuzzy-PI, GA-PI and
adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) controller based soft switching
inverter using transformer, which can generate dc link voltage notches during
chopping which minimize the drawbacks of existing soft-switching. Hence all
switches work in zero-voltage switching condition. The performance of the hybrid
intelligent controllers is compared with conventional PI controller. The
simulation results show that the ANFIS controller renders a better transient
response than the one obtained using conventional PI controller with negligible
overshoot, smaller settling time and rise time. Further the ANFIS controller
provides low torque ripples and high starting torque. The simulation results are
presented to show the superiority of the proposed hybrid intelligent controllers
based soft switching inverter. |

A SCALABLE SEMANTIC PEER-TO-PEER SYSTEM |
Author: |
MOHAMMED AMMARI, DALILA CHIADMI |
Abstract: |
Peer-to-peer computing is emerging as a new distributed computing paradigm for
many novel applications that involve exchange of information among a large
number of peers with little centralized coordination. Scalability is without
doubt the foremost requirement for a peer-to-peer system. To obtain a high
factor of scalability, we partition network search space using a global
ontology. Our proposed system takes the form of a semantic layer that can be
superimposed on top of any P2P infrastructure. This layer is subdivided as
semantic categories through a Hilbert curve which has the merit of good
preservation of locality. We choose HyperCup structure to support semantic
category in order to increase fault tolerance and overcome bottleneck problem.
HyperCup was also selected, because of its efficient broadcast algorithm.
Classification within a semantic category will be conducted through
multidimensional data analysis. The classification process will be recursively
repeated with ontology refinement. We use digital libraries to illustrate our
system, and highlight the proposed techniques. |

STUDY ON A PIPELINE TENSION DETECTION METHOD FOR AERO-PIPELINE SPRAYING SYSTEM
IN PADDY FIELD |
Author: |
ZHIYAN ZHOU, JUNQI MIAO, WANG YUAN, XIWEN LUO |
Abstract: |
Aero-Pipeline Spraying System is a special ultra-working-width precision
pesticide sprayer, which can broaden working scope, improve working efficiency,
precisely transfer feed liquid to farm field that need to be sprayed, spray
pesticides to crops in a very close range, and then improve working precision
and reduce the losses of liquid materials such as pesticides. During the
ultra-working-width spraying operations in paddy fields, the suspension spraying
aero-pipeline unable to automatically retractable, are prone to sagging and
winding, then it affect the operational efficiency and spraying effect. The
Aero-Pipeline Tension Detection System (APTDS) is the essential part of the
ultra-working-width paddy field pesticide sprayer. The pipeline can maintain a
tension state through an automatic winding system based on the APTDS. It is very
useful to expand the working width and to improve the working efficiency of the
ultra-working-width paddy field pesticide sprayer. RESULTS: An APTDS based on
the C8051F040 MCU was developed, include the power system, the tension sensors,
the conditioning circuits for the sensors and the motor control system. The
tension sensors were calibrated by a linear equation. The program of the tension
detection and the motor control system were developed by programming language
C51. The results showed that the average errors of the tension detection used by
the APTDS was about 1.8N, the standard deviation was about 0.6548N, and the
response time from the tension detection to the operation of the automatic
retracting was about 100ms. CONCLUSIONS: The presented APTDS based on C8051F040
single chip microcomputer basically satisfies the ultra-working-width spraying
requirements of the paddy field pesticide sprayer. |

A COMPREHENSIVE FRAMEWORK FOR MANAGING CONFLICTS/ANOMALIES BETWEEN XACML
POLICIES: MATHEMATICAL BASIS AND ARCHITECTURE |
Author: |
MOHAMED YAHIAOUI, AHMED ZINEDINE, MOSTAFA HARTI |
Abstract: |
In this work we address the problem of detection and resolution of
conflicts/anomalies between XACML (eXtensible Access Control Markup Language)
policies of access control. We mean here by conflict/Anomaly the case where
several policies give conflicting answers (deny, allow) to a same access
request. Indeed, this problem is foreseeable in access control systems based on
policies in general.
We give more attention to the mathematical formalism of the problem. We
introduce the notion of the canonical representation of the query space. This is
a partition of the query space formed by authorization classes. Each
authorization class regroups queries that are intercepted by the same policies.
This classification provides a natural way to handle interferences between
policy targets (in other words conflicts/anomalies). Then we bring the study of
the problem from the whole query space to elements of its canonical
representation.
The final result of this work is a Framework for detection and resolution of
conflicts/anomalies between XACML policies. This Framework, which is located in
the PAP (Policy Administration Point), is responsible for generating a
conflicts-free representation from the initially provided policies. This
representation is dynamically maintained and updated by the Framework following
the addition, deletion or modification of policies. |

Abstract: |
Video stabilization is one of the important techniques in video restoration
researches. Restoration of visual quality in old animation video is necessary
due to some artefacts occur since the making of the animation is involving
hand-drawn pictures followed by capturing step by camera. These artefacts lead
to the unsteadiness and image vibration of the animation scene even in steady
condition of capturing step. Video stabilization method aims to reduce those
artefacts. This paper proposes video stabilization algorithm in old animation
video based on motion estimation. The motion estimation technique employs coarse
to fine method based on wavelet transform. The proposed video stabilization
algorithm includes local motion estimation, global motion estimation, motion
smoothing, and motion compensation. The superior performance of our algorithm
over other method for video stabilization in old animation video is demonstrated
through simulated experiment. The phase-correlation based algorithm presents ITF
increments of about 0.74 -4.56 %, while our proposed algorithm improvements in
the ITF of about 4.37-18.53 %. |

ILP-BASED OPTIMAL CHECKPOINT PLACEMENT IN MULTICORE PROCESSORS |
Author: |
ATIEH LOTFI, SAEED SAFARI |
Abstract: |
Nowadays multicore processors are increasingly being deployed in high
performance computing systems. As the complexity of systems increases, the
probability of failure increases substantially. Therefore, the system requires
techniques for supporting fault tolerance. Checkpointing is one of the prevalent
fault tolerant techniques reducing the execution time of long-running programs
in presence of failures. Optimizing the number of checkpoints in a parallel
application running on a multicore processor is a complicated and challenging
task. Infrequent checkpointing results in long reprocessing time, while too
short checkpointing intervals lead to high checkpointing overhead. Since this is
a multi-objective optimization problem, trapping in local optimums is very
plausible. This paper presents a novel 0-1 integer linear programming (ILP)
formulation for solving optimal checkpoint placement problem for parallel
applications running on a multicore machine. Our experimental results
demonstrate that our solution leads to a better execution time saving over
existing methods. |

Abstract: |
Clustering is a popular necessity having extensive scope for varied
applications. We apply the k-means task in a situation where the volume of data
is large and puts pressure on the access memory. The objective is to use less
memory and access data sequentially. This paper proposes a method of making the
algorithm more effective and efficient; so as to get better clustering with
reduced complexity. Our algorithm is based on recent theoretical results, with
significant improvements to make it application friendly. Our approach
sufficiently simplifies a recently developed algorithm, both in design and
analysis. We prove that our algorithm compares favorably with existing
algorithms - both theoretically and experimentally, thus providing
state-of-the-art performance. Also these algorithms are tested on two datasets

A NEW CLUSTERING ALGORITHM FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS |
Author: |
ALI JORIO, SANAA EL FKIHI, BRAHIM ELBHIRI, DRISS ABOUTAJDINE |
Abstract: |
Wireless sensor networks have recently become an attractive research area.
However, saving energy and, thus, extending the wireless sensor network lifetime
entails great challenges. For this reason, clustering techniques are largely
made use of. In this paper we propose a new algorithm based on the principle of
spectral clustering methods. Especially, we use the K-ways spectral clustering
algorithm. The main characteristic of our proposal is that it defines the
optimal number of clusters and dynamically changes the election probabilities of
the cluster heads based on their residual energy. Up on analyzing the impact of
node density on the robustness of the proposed algorithm as well as on its
energy and lifetime gains, simulation results show that the approach actually
improves the lifetime of a whole network and presents more energy efficiency
distribution compared to Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarch, Centralized
Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarch, and Distance-Energy Cluster Structure
approaches. |

Abstract: |
Prediction of future research topics is usually undertaken, especially by policy
makers in research environment, to determine the focus of future studies.
Analysis of future research topics by using a numerical approach based on
scientific publications or patents have been previously done by several
researchers mostly by classifying the topics based on the similarity of the
documents. Meanwhile, time series analysis using statistical techniques, machine
learning and logistic curves has also been conducted but for areas other than
research topics. In this study, we will perform time series analysis to predict
the topic of research by employing combination of machine learning approaches
such as Neural Network, Extreme Learning Machine and Support Vector Machine. The
prediction result is then finally refined by logistic curve. The dataset used in
this study is a research report on Bioinformatics from Microsoft Research and
NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information), over the past 30 years.
Experimental result indicates that the combination of machine learning
approaches and logistic-curve may improve the prediction accuracy. In addition,
the emerging topic of the same dataset can be predicted with a relatively high
average precision. Based on the dataset used, some emerging topics predicted for
the next three years are 'Sequence Alignment', 'Index Terms', 'Secondary
Structure', 'Nucleic Acid', and 'Saccharomyces cerevisiae'. |

Author: |
CAIPING WANG |
Abstract: |
Shot putting is an important component of track and field events and the
throwing distance (s, m) is the greatest concern of coaches and athletes. There
are mainly three major factors affecting throwing distance: the initial velocity
(v, m/s), release angle (A, °) and release height (h, m) in shot push. So far,
it is common to use the physical kinematics knowledge in the research of shot
putting, but the release height’s impact on the throwing distance is rarely
considered. By mathematical modeling and computer simulation, this article
analyzes the relation between the three factors (v, A, h) with the throwing
distance (s) and determine the best release angle with regard to different
release velocity. In addition, the impact of release velocity and release angle
on throwing scores is discussed. This article is of certain theoretical guiding
significance for athletes and coaches in the selection, training and competition

Abstract: |
When BP neural network is widely used in many fields, this method shows a lot of
shortcomings. In this article, the principle component analysis and BP neural
network are combined together to establish a combined prediction model. Firstly,
we should use principle component analysis to reduce the dimension of the
variables and eliminate the co linearity among the variables. According to the
selected principle components, BP neural network model will be built. By
comparing with the result of single BP neural network model, the fitting degree
(R2=0.8528) of the combined model is better than that (R2=0.7854) of the single
one. After comparing the average differences of two models, we have found that
the prediction ability (MSE=0.35) of the combined model is better than that (MSE=0.35)
of the single model, which shows that the multi co linearity of the resolution
factors. It can reduce the data dimension, optimize the structure of neural
network, and quicken the speed of the network training and study. The function
of the established combined model is good, which can be promoted in the
prediction field. |

Abstract: |
Land use is an indispensable prerequisite for credible causes and consequences
investigation of global environment changes. With the increasing availability of
very high resolution remote sensing imagery, more accurate and effective
analysis of land use is becoming possible. However, the traditional method of
imagery interpretation is focused on pixel-based analysis, which has fundamental
limitations in addressing particular land use characteristics due to finite
spatial extent. Taking advantage of recent advances in imagery interpretation
methods, a supervised procedure based on object-oriented image analysis, is
proposed in this study to reduce manual labor and objectify the choice of
significant object features and classification thresholds. A sequence of image
segmentation, feature selection, object classification and error balancing was
discussed in details. In order to verify the validity of object-oriented
Classification for high resolution satellite imagery, a scene of 2.4-meter
multispectral image of Quickbird is respectively classified by the pixel-based
analysis from Erdas and the object-oriented method from eCognition. It can be
concluded by comparison that the object-oriented classification is better fit to
exact the land use information from high resolution remote sensing imagery than
the pixel-based method. |

Abstract: |
BP decoding algorithm is a high-performance low-density parity-check (LDPC) code
decoding algorithm, but because of its high complexity, it can’t be applied to
the high-speed communications systems. So in order to further reduce the
implementation complexity with the minimum affection to the system performance,
, we proposed a BP algorithm based on Chebyshev polynomial fitting for its good
approximation performance in this paper. This method can transform the
complicated exponential function into polynomial with the error at level in the
process of decoding , which can reduce the consumption of memory resources
considerably. At the same time, a Chebyshev unit is proposed in the process of
implementation with less multiplier; we implemented a semi-parallel LDPC decoder
with this method on Altera CycloneII FPGA. The simulation results show that the
degradation of this method is only 0.4dB compared with conventional BP
algorithm. |

Abstract: |
Intellectual property (IP) core-to-node mapping is an important but intractable
optimization problem in Network-on-Chip (NoC) application design. In this paper,
we present an approach to map cores onto hierarchical NoC architecture which
consists of two levels. The top-level interconnection network is realized by a
2D mesh of communicating routers, and a tree based topology is used at the
second level of interconnection hierarchy. We formulate the problem of low
energy mapping, and introduce a three-phase optimization strategy to solve it.
The cores are clustered firstly, and a tabu search based mapping technique is
proposed to map the core clusters to the top-level interconnection network. Then
the cores within each cluster are mapped to the nodes of every sub-network.
Experimental results show that the proposed method is very fast and effective in
terms of energy optimization. |

DACHUN ZHANG |
Abstract: |
P.E. teaching evaluation system is an important mean and method to measure the
general proficiency of P.E. teachers teaching profession. Traditional evaluation
method is highly influenced by subjective factors and is not able to reflect
teachers’ practical level factually. This study builds a P.E. teaching
evaluation model based on analytic hierarchy process. The results show that the
weight of teaching effect, teaching method and teaching attitude are 0.21, 0.20
and 0.20 accordingly, and these three factors have the greatest impact on the
result of P.E. teaching evaluation while teaching content and scientific
research have a less impact (the weights are 0.12 and 0.10). It is verified
through an example that the P.E. teaching evaluation result based on analytic
hierarchy process is reasonable and in accordance with P.E. teaching laws. In
conclusion, it is suggested that this evaluation model can be popularized and
applied in P.E. teaching evaluation. |

Aiming at the mistakes made by the athletes in matches, this paper probes into
how aerobics athletes complete the highly difficult movements that they make
small mistakes in their usual training and thus achieve better scores and ranks
in matches. In the paper, the explanation and prediction effect of the planned
behavior theoretical model is firstly tested; then exercise planning,
self-efficacy and social support are introduced as 3 independent variables to
establish the partial least squares regression model with the purpose of
achieving better explanation and prediction effect on aerobics athletes’
exercise intention and behavior. The operating mechanism of the 3 variables on
intention and behavior is further discussed. Based on the improved planned

question faced with. The reason was analyzed based on thermal acoustic
instability and the oscillation amplitude difference. The idea was put forward
how to solve thermoacoustic wave instability or oscillatory amplitude
difference. If power was under smaller for electric storage device, a stored

Abstract: |
Due to adopting the pulse Doppler (PD) system, the blind Doppler zone (BDZ) of
airborne early warning (AEW) radar is inevitable. This paper focuses on finding
a technique with good estimation performance for tracking airborne targets
flying in AEW BDZ. Consequently, combining with interacting multiple models (IMM),
extended Kalman filter (EKF) and particle filter (PF), the radar and electronic
support measure (ESM) joint tracking BDZ target technique based on IMMEPF is put
forward. The advantage of IMM algorithm is not only error reduction but also
model prediction. As far as the nonlinear, non-Gaussian problem is concerned,
Particle filter is adept usually. For the purpose of overcoming the particle
degeneracy phenomenon, it relies on EKF state estimation to generate new
particle set. The numerical simulation results justify that the proposed
technique shows high precision performance of tracking target buried in BDZ. |

SPEECH AUTHENTICATION BASED ON PERCEPTUAL FINGERPRINT HASHING |
Author: |
HONGXIA WANG, JINFENG LI, YONG QIU |
Abstract: |
A perceptual fingerprint hashing method is proposed for audio authentication in
this paper. First, the biologic fingerprint image is divided into overlapping
rectangle blocks by randomly using a chaotic sequence, and then the gravity
center of each block is calculated. Finally, the perceptual Hashing value is
generated based on the gravity center of each block. To authenticate the speech
identity source, the perceptual fingerprint hashing that represents speaker’s
identity information and speech signal must be connected closely. So the
perceptual fingerprint hashing value is embedded into the speech signal as a
watermark. At the authentication stage, first, the perceptual fingerprint
hashing value is extracted from the speech for authentication, and then it
matches another perceptual fingerprint hashing value which is restructured by
the suspicious fingerprint image. Finally, the authentication result can be
decided by the matching result. The experimental results indicate that the
proposed algorithm is not only robust against fingerprint rotation processing
and noise attack, but also has high security and uniqueness. |

EFFICIENT TOP-K QUERY PROCESSING IN P2P NETWORKS |

Abstract: |
Top-k query is widely used in the search engine and gains great success, which
perform the cooperative query by aggregating the database objects’ degree of
match for each different query predicate and returning the best k matching
objects only. It’s also applied to p2p file-sharing systems. However, top-k
query processing in p2p systems is very challenging because the potentially
large number of peers may contribute to the query results, which may induce a
huge amount of network traffic and high latency. In this paper, we develop a
framework that can effectively satisfy the demands. Two algorithms are used for
local peer query processing and hierarchical join query processing, and two
schemes are proposed to deal with the problem of peer’s dynamicity and further
reduce communication cost. Simulation results show that our algorithms and
schemes are effective. |

AN EFFICIENT REPLICA CREATION SCHEME IN P2P NETWORK |
Author: |
ZHITAO GUAN, YUE XU |
Abstract: |
There's one major problem in the unstructured p2p file sharing systems, which is
their heavy network traffic. A potential solution is to use replication
technology. The objective of replication is to create enough replicas to let
nodes in p2p systems get required files with only a few hops. Replication is
widely used in the distributed database systems and gains great success.
However, processing replication in unstructured p2p network is very challenging
because a p2p system is a dynamic and decentralized system. In this paper we
present an efficient hierarchical replica creation scheme based on the track and
popularity of files, which includes two strategies, one is super node layer
replica creation and the other is bottom layer replica balancing. Instead of
passively accepting replicas, each node determines file replication by
dynamically adapting to popularity and query track of the files, which can not
only supply enough replicas to decrease the query messages, but also avoid
unnecessary file replications. The evaluation results indicate that our method
shows good performance. |

Abstract: |
A stereo vision method is presented to measure wheelbase, wheelbase difference
and wheel static radius, and the key is to locate the wheel center. The aluminum
alloy wheel hub is the research subject in the method, and its contour is
extracted and fitted as an ellipse curve. To improve the matching precision, a
new un-tangent constraint is adopted based on which stereo matching is carried
out. Then a spatial circle projection algorithm with low time complexity and
high accuracy is proposed to reconstruct 3D coordinates of wheel center. After
that, the measurement models of wheelbase, wheelbase difference and wheel static
radius is described in details. At last experiments are performed to verify our
proposed method. In experiments, wheelbase, wheelbase difference and wheel
static radius of three different cars are measured, and then the results are
compared to manual measurement results. Experiments have proved that the
proposed method could acquire the wheelbase, wheelbase difference and wheel

Abstract: |
Laser carving technology has the advantages of higher resolution, focusing
precision and digital modulation. It has been widely used in laser engraving
gravure plate and laser plate processing. However, the switching of the laser
has only two states, so the halftoning processing plays a vary important role in
the laser plate. In this paper, we present a 2-dimensional digital halftoning
method based on weighted least-squares(WLS) which can significantly gain high
quality image during the processing of laser plate. Two main strategies were
made. The first is adding a procedure to partition into several finite regions
using K-means image segmentation and least squares to reduce the total
quantizing error. The second is that the statistics of the mean and variance of
the gray-scale pixel of each clustering are calculated and the new energy
function is constructed using the weighted least squares method, which the
reciprocal of the variance of the segmented regions are referred to as the
weighting operator. The analysis and simulation results show that the proposed
algorithm produces better gray-scale halftone image quality when we increase the
number of clustering with a certain range. A performance measure for halftone
image is used to evaluate our method. We apply neural network to build up a
detecting system of ink cells in gravure cylinder. We use different thresholds
and experimental sigma values that compare to experimental results. Binarization
images are obtained through adaptive threshold segmentation, which regards the
value of gaps and dark tone as the characteristic value when they start to
detecting. We extract size and surface defects of ink cells for grading. The
areas of ink cells are deemed to size characteristics. Then we classify the ink
cells into two classes by using of neural network. The experimental results
consider neural network model that produce consequences. |

Abstract: |
A rate control algorithm for multi-view video coding based on visual perception
is proposed. The algorithm is performed on four levels, namely view level,
group-of-picture (GOP) level, frame level and macro-block level. In the view
level, we pre-encode a GOP to obtain the bitrates proportion among the views. In
the GOP level, the initial quantization parameter and the target bits are
calculated for the GOP combined with the feature of hierarchical B pictures (HBP).
In the frame level, bits allocation is decided by the predicted complexity of
the frame. In the macro-block level, the rate distortion model is adjusted based
on the visual perception. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm
can increase the quality of visual sensitive region by 0.18 dB to 0.54 dB and
improve the subjective quality compared with the conventional approach. |

Abstract: |
Aiming at the request of fast target location in underwater ultrasound detector,
the dual sound location algorithm of close range detecting is proposed. By
estimating the pressure difference and the time difference of dual sensors, the
algorithm puts forward the pressure difference location model and the time
difference location model, and derives the analytic solutions of real-time
location. The mirror fuzzy problem of the linear array is resolved by dual
sensors rotating 90 degrees. The problem that the target is unable to locate
when it is located on the perpendicular bisector is solved by dual sensors
rotating angle. The volume reverberation model is established. Simulation
results show that the algorithm under the lower reverberation can achieve better
location. The algorithm can meet high sensitivity and fast response requirements

Abstract: |
To improve the performance of rate control algorithm for H.264/AVC and keep a
good quality for video, a new rate control algorithm is proposed based on the
just noticeable distortion (JND). Firstly, the motion characteristics of
inter-frames were used to measure the frame complexity as to allocate the target
bits rationally in frame level. Secondly, just noticeable distortion for
measuring visual sensitivity of macro-block was introduced, and the bits
allocation of macro-block is based on the JND value. The experimental results
show that the proposed algorithm can control the bit-rate more accurately and
improve the subjective quality of the visual sensitive areas without any
rate-distortion performance decline compared with JVT-G012 algorithm. |

A MODIFIED EKF ALGORITHM FOR GPS POINT DYNAMIC POSITIONING AND VELOCITY
MEASUREMENT |
Author: |
SONG DAN, ZHANG PENGFEI, XU CHENGDONG |
Abstract: |
Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) algorithm is widely used in GPS positioning and
velocity measurement. As for EKF algorithm, the approximate initial position of
the receiver is indispensable; otherwise the time consumption of the first
positioning is too high because of the filter’s low convergence rate. A modified
EKF algorithm named delayed update EKF (DU-EKF) algorithm for GPS point dynamic
positioning and velocity measurement is proposed in this paper, which can speed
up the convergence rate of the filter without the receiver’s approximate initial
position. Furthermore, it can improve the accuracy of positioning and velocity
measurement. Three kinds of algorithms are used in the simulation of this paper
to compare with the modified EKF algorithm: iterative least square (ILS)
algorithm, EKF algorithm with the Zero initial state vector (ZEKF) and EKF
algorithm with the initial state vector which is Close to the actual situation (CEKF). |

MAINTENANCE POLICY OPTIMIZATION FOR A DETERIORATING SYSTEM WITH MULTI-FAILURES |
Author: |
HUANZHI FENG, LAIBIN ZHANG, WEI LIANG |
Abstract: |
For complex systems in modern industry system, optimal maintenance policy is
difficult to determine concerned balance between risks and costs because
numerical elements have effectives to each others. To solve this critical
problem, this paper presents an optimal maintenance model for a multi-state
deteriorating system subject to multi-failures. The system process is modeled as
a semi-Markov process. The model has considered both multi-condition states and
multi-failure states of the system. The system deterioration process is
described from “as good as new” to the state “completely failed”. In each state,
the probability of the system transferred to certain failure is different. Using
different maintenance policy will lead to the different state transition
probability. The certain aim of the study is to find the best maintenance policy
to minimize the long-run expected average cost per unit time. Condition
monitoring and state prediction techniques are considered in the model. Finally,
a numerical example and an industry example are presented to illustrate the
implementation of the computational approach. |

ON THE CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH OF INTERDISCIPLINARY PRACTICAL TEACHING
PLATFORM UNDER CLOUD ENVIRONMENT |
Author: |
WENYA TIAN |
Abstract: |
With the rapid development of Internet information technology, professional
teaching softwares and simulation system are set up in higher vocational
colleges. And they are widely used in practical teaching. Since the
Interdisciplinary Practical Teaching has been carried out across the whole
school, the shortage of training places becomes a contradiction. To build a
shared "interconnection" , professional and practical teaching platform is the
urgent problem of college. Only by this, it can break through the limitation of
the practice sites shortage, and promote the sharing of professional teaching
resources. By using the virtualization and cloud computing technology, this
paper constructs the interdisciplinary practical teaching platform under cloud
environment, which can effectively solve the above problems in higher vocational
colleges, thus to innovate the practical teaching mode. |

ASSOCIATIVE CLASSIFICATION WITH KNN |
Author: |
ZAIXIANG HUANG, ZHONGMEI ZHOU, TIANZHONG HE |
Abstract: |
Associative classification usually generates a large set of rules. Therefore, it
is inevitable that an instance matches several rules which classes are
conflicted. In this paper, a new framework called Associative Classification
with KNN (AC-KNN) is proposed, which uses an improved KNN algorithm to address
rule conflicts. Traditional K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) is low efficient due to its
calculation of the similarity between the test instance and each training
instance. Furthermore, the accuracy of KNN is largely depended on the selection
of a “good value” for K. AC-KNN generates for each test instance a specific
training set composed of instances covered by best n rules which match the test
instance. Thus, the nearest neighbors from the specific training set are not
only similar to but also associative with the test instance. As a result, such
nearest neighbors will make better decision on classifying a conflict instance.
Our experiments on 12 UCI datasets show that AC-KNN outperforms both AC and KNN
on accuracy. Compare with KNN, AC-KNN is more efficient and more stable to the
number of nearest neighbors. |

THE OPTIMAL PARTITION FOR SINGLE VIDEO SEQUENCE IN STREAMING MEDIA SYSTEM |
Author: |
MANDE XIE |
Abstract: |
The fine grained scalable (FGS) coding is one of the most popular coding
technologies in network video stream. In FGS stream, the base layer rate is an
important parameter and should generally make a compromise between the number of
beneficial clients and the efficiency of video coding. To maximize all clients'
perceived quality, the optimal partition algorithm for single FGS-coded video
sequence is proposed. By analyzing the algorithms oriented FGS-coded stream
proposed by Hsu et al, this paper first puts forward a method to build the R-Q
function curve and proposes an algorithm to cut search space of the base layer
rate. Second, according to the optimization problem of single sequence, the
paper proposes the improved FGSOPT_N algorithm. At last, some illustration
examples are given to demonstrate and compare the effect of algorithms. |
