A SIMULATION BASED DECISION-MAKING SUPPORT APPROACH FOR MACHINE-BUILDING PLANTS
INVESTMENT PROJECTS ESTIMATION OF EFFICIENCY |
Author: |
MIKHAIL V. ZENKOVICH, YURY G. DREVS |
Abstract: |
Methods and software enabling the estimation of efficiency and the comparisons
of alternative designs of machine-building plants are discussed. Problem of
efficiency estimation for investment projects of machine-building plants is
formulated in the terms of decision theory. Presented approach is based on the
reduction of multicriterion problem of estimation of investment project to
one-criterion problem. This paper describes: the structure of set of outcomes of
admissible alternatives, set of vectorial estimations of outcomes, mapping of
set of outcomes of acceptable alternatives to set of vectorial estimations of
outcomes and structure of decision maker’s preferences. Decision rule which
allows carrying out required operation over the set of admissible alternatives
is formulated. Application of simulation for estimation of technological and
structural decisions, which was made during the plant design, is the central
feature of presented approach. Designed simulation model refers to
discrete-event class. Object-oriented approach was applied for designing of the
model and programming language C++ for its implementation. Application of
detailed simulation model of production line allows carrying out an accurate
estimation of technological and structural characteristics of involved projects.
Presented methodology of estimation of investment projects of machine-building
plants is tried-and-true method which applies on the phase of designing and
engineering of machine-building plant. The presented approach is discussed on
the example of foundry plant with moulding line. |

Abstract: |
Today, managing a software project is so complex and risky. Software project is
unique compare than physical project out there because it faces a lot of risks
and failure. Project failure in Software Project Management (SPM) is distinct
due to the characteristic of software project: intangible, unpredictable, and
often fail and one-off project. In this research, the problem is how project
failure can be minimize or avoided. To solve it, an early prediction model with
proactive signal messenger to detect risk in earliest stages. The model was
validated using questionnaires and pilot study. The proposed model developed
achieved its goal which is to minimize risk in software development process to
increase project success. The result of this study has shown that the proactive
elements detection in earliest stage can detect risk earlier and helps to
increase project success. |

A RESEARCH FRAMEWORK OF ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (EDMS)
IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS IN GOVERNMENT |
Author: |
HAIDER ABDULKADHIM, MAHADI BAHARI, ARYATI BAKRI, WAIDAH ISMAIL |
Abstract: |
Many governments today have implemented Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
The employment of EDMS systems has increased the operational (e.g. document
storage and retrieval, auditing, workflow facilities, searching and publishing)
effectiveness of governments on daily basis. However, not many studies had been
undertaken into process of implementing EDMS in the government context.
Therefore, this paper fills this gap by presenting a research framework for the
implementation process of EDMS. Based on a content analysis of the reviewed
literature, this paper identifies thirteen (13) common factors contributing to
the implementation process of EDMS. The factors are: (1) Top management support;
(2) Budgetary; (3) Implementation planning; (4) Anti-corruption; (5)
Implementation staff; (6) Security and privacy; (7) Data quality, (8) User
requirements; (9) Cooperation; (10) Systems integration; (11) Awareness; (12)
Resistance to change; and (13) Staff training. All these factors subsequently
were linked to the Prosci-ADKAR model of change to outline the structure of EDMS
implementation process framework. The proposed framework contributes to the
theoretical understanding of the EAI implementation process, which may support
government practitioners in implementing the EDMS applications in their
government organizations. The paper also highlights with three important issues
that need to be explored further while developing the framework: 1) the EDMS
implementation process meaning in system development life cycle; 2) the
importance of EDMS implementation factors; and 3) the kind approach to
investigate EDMS implementation process. |

Author: |
B. SAGAR, S. RAJENDAR, R. MURALI PRASAD |
Abstract: |
In this paper, a modified programmable twisted ring counter (MPTRC) based
on-chip test generation scheme is proposed. It is used as built-in-self-test (BIST)
pattern generator for high performance circuits with simple test control. This
method is used to achieve low power and reduced test time for digital circuits.
The MPTRC module is designed with Cadence NClaunch platform using Verilog HDL
and synthesis done by using Cadence RTL compiler with 0.18µm technology. The
simulation results show about 13.46% power reduction compared with conventional
programmable twisted ring counter (PTRC) based design. |

Abstract: |
Multipartite entanglement study carried out after bipartite entanglement as
multipartite has a structure that is more useful for processing data in quantum
information. In entanglement, two major studies were often focus is the
measurement and classification of entanglement. Since a lots of measurements
have been used to detect and quantify the entanglement in multipartite but it
cannot distinguish the state specifically hence the classification is used to
discriminate the state easily. Therefore, this study investigated the methods of
classification of selected published works. This paper aims to recognize and
describe the type of methods used by those works. As a result, a conceptual
framework for classifying the multipartite entanglement was proposed based on
previous works. This paper is expected to provide other alternative methods for
classification. |

EFFECTIVE INFORMATION RETRIEVAL METHOD BASED ON MATCHING ADAPTIVE GENETIC
ALGORITHM |
Author: |
ESSAM HANANDEH, KHALED MAABREH |
Abstract: |
Information Retrieval (IR) System is very complex in nature due to the complex
interactions between documents and queries, which means that the matching of
document representations and query representations is not straightforward. The
Genetic Algorithm (GA) is widely used in IR systems to improve the effectiveness
such systems. This study uses the Vector Space Model (VSM) and the Extended
Boolean Model (EBM) to compute the similarities between queries and documents.
Two fitness functions are proposed in this paper: One as fitness function and
the other as adaptive mutation. Then comparing each of these functions with a
number of ratio mutations that have been introduced to get better results. The
experimental results reveal that the proposed cosine function outperformed other
fitness models. |

INTERACTIVE VISUALIZATION OF MULTI-DIMENSIONAL DATA ON HETEROGENEOUS INFORMATION
OBJECTS IN THE DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS FOR SOLVING MULTICRITERIA CHOICE PROBLEM |
Author: |
ALEKSANDR ALEKSANDROVICH VAKULENKO, DMITRII ALEKSANDROVICH SYTNIK |
Abstract: |
In decision support systems, one of the tools for solving multicriteria choice
problems is the analytic hierarchy process. This method uses a large amount of
data. To improve the efficiency of decision-making, the method of interactive
visualization of multidimensional data is proposed. The method makes it possible
to change the hierarchical structure of objectives in the choice problem, set
weights of objective functions at each of the hierarchy levels, and observe the
quantitative dependencies of the objective function using graphs. The method is
based on the combination and modification of charts: a bar graph, a Tree Map and
a flat organizational chart. The modification involves adding interactive
elements, making it possible to change the hierarchical structure, change the
quantitative values of individual parameters and the weighting factors, select a
range of values, as well as encoding quantitative values using the gradient
transition of color to display the relationships between the values of the
objective functions of different hierarchy levels. Continuous interactive
actions of the user result in a corresponding change in graphically displayed
items. It provides fast feedback between the user and the decision support
system. The practical implementation of the method will provide ease of
perception of choosing, setting rules for decision-making, ease of explaining
the main reasons, influencing the choice of solutions, high-speed operation. |

TWO STAGE QOS-AWARE COEXISTENCE FRAMEWORK FOR TVWS |
Author: |
ANABI HILARY KELECHI, ROSDIADEE NORDIN |
Abstract: |
In this paper, we formulated a heterogeneous coexistence framework in TV White
Space (TVWS) consisting of Primary Users (PUs), Secondary Users (SUs) and IEEE
802.19.1 standard using the Cournot economic game model. TVWS is associated with
temporary buying and selling of spectrum and hence, the use of the economic
model. The robustness of the proposed model stems from the unique SINR
requirements of the PUs were considered. Secondly, IEEE 802.19.1 standard plays
a double role of database provider and heterogeneous coexistence framework. QoS
is an important performance indicator for wireless communication and hence,
there is a need for a QoS coexistence model in TVWS. Our goal is to design a
Cournot QoS-aware spectrum game model for the PUs. Thus, resulting in a QoS-aware
coexistence framework for TVWS. |

Abstract: |
Extracting and analyzing biological features is becoming a challenging approach
for biologists and IT specialists alike. In botany, feature extraction of plant
leaf using computer vision would help in classification and early diagnosis of
plant diseases. The approach ranges from a simple species recognition using the
features of a simple leaf to a sophisticated array of features in the case of a
compound irregular leaf morphology. We propose a system for extracting features
from an irregular compound-leaf, with minimum user intervention, then establish
clustering into distinct similarity groups. We focused on analyzing features of
a tomato compound leaf then a cluster analysis at the variety (intraspecific)
taxonomic level was carried out. Experimental results of the clustering process
showed that our methodology can be used to classification in the feature. From
the samples that were included in the study, two major clusters;
potato-type-leaves and tomato-type-leaves were revealed. |

Author: |
WASEF MATER, ROLIANA IBRAHIM |
Abstract: |
This systematic review presents the factors that influence teamwork
communication, when using clinical pathways, and the relationships between these
factors. These factors will support and promote teamwork communication when
using clinical pathways. Extensive research was conducted on four databases,
including Medline, Scopus, science direct, and Google scholar. From this search,
we identified three dimensions of factors that influence teamwork communication,
namely (teamwork, tasks and context) and every dimension has its own factors. A
set of indicators and factors influence teamwork communication, and these
factors are classified into three dimensions based on the systems theory, namely
input, process and output. The factors that are investigated in this study have
a positive influence on teamwork communication, and these factors will be used
as guidelines for developing a framework for implementing clinical pathways that
support teamwork communication in the healthcare domain. |

A NEW HYBRID MODEL FOR ELECTRONIC RECORD MANAGEMENT |
Author: |
MARIAM AFSHAR, KAMSURIAH AHMAD |
Abstract: |
In a daily activity of an organisation, thousands of electronic record
(e-records) are created. Managing this massive amount of e-records is a
challenging task for system managers. Organisations, according to legal and
financial administrative procedures or regulations, keep the e-records for a
certain period of time and after that, they will be transferred or destroyed.
Thus, there is an urgency to manage these e-records during their lifecycle.
Public agencies need a framework to manage the e-records throughout their full
life span. Effective and efficient aging of the e-records throughout their full
life span ensure stockholders and organisations benefit and protect their
rights, facilitate decision making and support daily activity of the
organisations. This paper proposes a hybrid model for managing e-records
throughout their full lifecycle. Output from this study will help users of
electronic records to manage the records from the time of their creation to
disposal. |

SELECTIVE NOISE FILTERING OF SPEECH SIGNALS USING AN ADAPTIVE NEURO-FUZZY
INFERENCE SYSTEM AS A FREQUENCY PRE-CLASSIFIER |
Author: |
SACHIN LAKRA , T. V. PRASAD , G. RAMAKRISHNA |
Abstract: |
The paper relates to the filtering of a noise signal present in a speech signal.
Specifically, the use of an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) to
classify the frequencies present in a speech signal into three fuzzy sets, that
is, those for low frequencies, voice frequencies and high frequencies is
discussed in this work. Following the pre-classification step, the low
frequencies are filtered which comprise the noise component in the speech
signal. The pre-classifier was applied prior to the use of various FIR/IIR
filters for reducing the noise present in a speech signal. The paper presents
the use of an ANFIS for pre-classification of frequencies in a speech signal
followed by application of a noise filter to individual or multiple classes of
frequencies. It provides evidence for substantial improvement in the quality of
the speech signal. |

Abstract: |
In this paper, an advance method for multi-objective constraint optimization
method of biochemical system production was proposed and discussed in detail.
The proposed method combines Newton method, Strength Pareto Evolutionary
Algorithm (SPEA) and Cooperative Co-evolutionary Algorithm (CCA). The main
objective of the proposed method was to improve the desired production and at
the same time to reduce the total of component concentrations involved in
producing the best result. The proposed method starts with Newton method by
treating the biochemical system as a non-linear equations system. Then, Genetic
Algorithm (GA) in SPEA and CCA were used to represent the variables in
non-linear equations system into multiple sub-chromosomes. The used of GA was to
improve the desired production while CCA to reduce the total of component
concentrations involved. The effectiveness of the proposed method was evaluated
using two benchmark biochemical systems and the experimental results showed that
the proposed method was able to generate the highest results compare to other
existing works. |

A HYBRID ROI-EMBEDDING BASED WATERMARKING TECHNIQUE USING DWT AND DCT TRANSFORMS |
Author: |
Osama Hosam, Nadhir Ben Halima |
Abstract: |
Digital image watermarking is mainly used in copyright protection. We propose
block based approach for watermarking images with their own ROI. The algorithm
divides the image into 8x8 blocks. DWT transform is applied on each block. The
extracted LL of the computed DWT is obtained and DCT is applied on LL to obtain
LL-DCT coefficients. The watermark is embedded by changing the sign of LL-DCT
coefficients of each block. In this paper we study the block perturbation
properties, we found that the block embedding index is inversely proportional to
watermark robustness; in addition we found that single 8x8 block can optimally
hold single bit by changing the sign of the medium LL-DCT coefficient. |

Abstract: |
An embracing hotchpotch application of wireless sensor networks is tracking or
locating the moving target in the surveillance area. In this paper, we have
projected an optimization framework using a selective approach algorithm for
locating an object and to improve the energy of sensors. By this algorithm, the
sensors placed in the region of target alone go to awake mode. So the energy is
saved to a large extend which results in better performance in the system. We
have estimated the proposed algorithm with existing method of blind source
separation methods. By the simulation results, our investigation shows that the
proposed algorithm can suggestively progress the energy and accuracy of sensors. |

Abstract: |
Attacks on computer network are increasing everyday and most institution use
Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to cope with that and most used IDS is the
signature-based IDS, which need a database of rules when looking for an
malicious packet. Yet there are two problems with this kind of IDS, first, not
all people are able to create a signature or rule, therefore they need to wait
for updates if they want to renew their database. Secondly, zero-day attack,
attack that has never been happened before, is the main weakness of this IDS due
to absence of its signature.
We proposed Coro, an IDS signature generator that create an IDS rules based on
honeypot log data. Coro uses graph clustering that make it be able to cluster
data without the need to recompute the centroid. Coro focuses on HTTP, as it
will be used to harden our e-voting system, but it is possible to be extended to
other protocols.
Our experiment showed that Coro was able to cluster around 5000 request in a
short time and our graph clustering was a big help to that. Moreover, two
threshold value used and data preprocessing in that experiment affected amount
and quality of the generated rules. |

Abstract: |
In this paper, modeling of the arm rehabilitation device using system
identification technique is presented. Patients who have post-stroke may lose
control of their upper limb. If they are treated with effective rehabilitation
training, the patients can restore their upper limb motion functions and working
abilities. These rehabilitation devices are used to recover the movement of arm
after stroke. Robot assisted therapy systems need three elements which are
algorithms, robot hardware and computer system. An accurate system modelling is
crucially important to represent the system well. Inaccurate model could
diminish the overall control system later on. The objective of this work is to
development mathematical modeling of the arm rehabilitation device by using
System Identification from experimental data. Several transfer functions are
evaluated in order to choose the best performances that represent the system. It
must show a good criteria based on the best fitness percentage, stability of the
location of poles and zero and also the frequency response characteristics. The
derived model is validated via simulation for stability analysis. It is expected
that a stable model with an acceptable level of accuracy would be developed for
further control system design. |

Abstract: |
Radio waves Frequency (RF) propagating in vegetation environments usually facing
much higher path loss than in environments those without vegetation. Therefore,
well known of the propagation path loss through the vegetation area is critical
for communication and sensing of Wireless sensor network (WSN) in such
environments. Furthermore, the well known of the elevation of the antenna of the
sensor nodes is very important for accurate measurement of the path losses in
such environment. This paper presents the impact of each part of trees on WSN
signal propagation inside the mango tree greenhouse to elect the appropriate
elevation of the antennas. The empirical results show that the foliage affects
is high and thus communication losses is higher while lowest losses obtained
when nodes located within trunk elevation or less. Thus, the optimum antennas
elevation must be within trunk level so that the reliable and higher network
connectivity can be achieved. |

IDENTIFYING INFLUENTIAL USER IN TWITTER : ANALYSIS OF TWEET CONTENT SIMILARITY

Abstract: |
In recent years, Social Network Analysis (SNA) is still growing rapidly. The
mapping and measurement of the interaction in SNA can be used in many areas, for
example to find the most influential users to improve the marketing strategy in
Small and Medium Enterprise (SME). In order to find the most influential users
in a network, we can apply the centrality measurement such as degree centrality,
betweeness centrality, closeness centrality and eigenvector centrality. In this
manner, degree centrality is conceptually the simplest one, which is defined as
the number of links incident upon a node. While recent works has focused on
number of nodes with the weighting between nodes according to its interaction
such as following, followed, mention, retweet and reply. In this study, we
investigate the combination of tweet content similarity and the interactions
between users in twitter using Opsahl method. In this paper, we compare the
proposed method with the baseline system from previous research. The
experimental result show that the tweet content similarity affect the result of
the most influential user in comparison with existing method. |

REAL POWER GENERATION TRACING FOR DEREGULATED POWER SYSTEM USING THE FLOWER

Abstract: |
In deregulated power market, providing a fair and non-discriminatory service
pricing is still in debate on ‘who should be blame’ for the losses contribution.
The use of traditional methods such as postage stamp and MW mile methodology is
said to be unreliable and biasing because of neglecting the power flow and
physical constraints. Thus, a new theory called electricity tracing has been
developed to solve the problem concerning non-discriminatory tranmission service
pricing. The most common methods used are Proportional Sharing Principle (PSP)
and Superposition Theorem (ST). However, due to necessity of matrix inversion
and singularity of matrix in the mathematical equation, it is likely an error
will occur and result in unsatisfactory outputs. To explore a new method, this
paper demonstrates an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based optimization method,
that is, Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) to perform real power generation
tracing. The experiment and comparative studies on IEEE-14 bus power system have
verified the capability of the proposed method for real system application with
promising results. |

Abstract: |
Big data usually includes data sets with sizes beyond the ability of commonly
used software tools to capture, curate, manage, and process data within a
tolerable elapsed time[1].Big data "size" is a constantly moving target, as of
2012 ranging from a few dozen terabytes to many petabytes of data. Big data is a
set of techniques and technologies that require new forms of integration to
uncover large hidden values from large datasets that are diverse, complex, and
of a massive scale [2]. Currently, there are a hundred solutions to the problem
of Big Data that can be classified into three categories: NoSQL databases,
NewSQL and Search-based systems. One of the major problems often mentioned is
the heterogeneity of the languages and the interfaces they offer to developers
and users. Different platforms and languages have been proposed, and applications
developed for one system require significant effort to be migrated to another one
[3]. Our motivation to write this article is to make a comparative study of Big
Data systems, this is our first step to design and implement concrete and
effective solution to the interoperability problem between Big Data systems.
However, this study will help the professionals in decision-making. |

Abstract: |
In this paper, we propose a three dimensional (3-D) codes namely 3-D perfect
difference/ multi diagonal (3-D PD/MD) code for spectral/time/spatial optical
code division multiple access (OCDMA) system based on the perfect difference and
multi diagonal codes. The multi-access interference (MAI) is fully eliminated in
the receiver based on this code. The system performance is analyzed
mathematically based on the proposed code under the consideration of the
receiver noises, and compared with the systems of , 2-D perfect difference (2-D
PD), 2-D diluted perfect difference (2-D DPD) and 3-D perfect difference (3-D
PD) code. The proposed code reduces the receiver noises by reducing the receiver
complexity to 50% of the 3-D PD code. In addition to that, the mathematical
results shows that the 3-D PD/MD code system can accommodate more active users
at a bit error rate (BER) of (10-9) and data rates of 0.622Gbps and 1.25Gbps.
Hence, the proposed system can be more applicable than the former 3-D PD code. |

Abstract: |
In the field of education, the evaluation of learning is one of the most
important operations through the learning process. The evaluation concern arises
in a more enhanced way in online learning environment given the significant
reduction in direct contact of the tutor with the learners. In this paper, we
address the specific problem of educational assessment of reading/writing
competencies acquisition in amazigh language, based on the interactions of
learners with an assessment test which consists of different items and served in
a LMS platform. An online model based on artificial intelligence techniques,
specifically multi-input–multi-output adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference System
noted also CANFIS for co-active ANFIS, is proposed. The training and testing
data, generated from the study of the curricula and the referential framework,
are presented to the designed system for the optimization of inference engine
parameters. Results of training and testing the system show an acceptable
accuracy of learning. |

Abstract: |
New development methods have emerged in recent years. These techniques are based
on models and software components, they aim to facilitate integration,
automation, and generation of complex applications, as well as mapping between
different platforms based on forward and reverse engineering. These approaches
are based on Model Driven Engineering (MDE) which separates the business logic
of an application from the technology used to achieve it. This paper aims to
provide a best understanding of MDE aspects and presents a comparative study
between different approaches of software development automation and code
generation, in addition a big contribution of this article is to present the
forces and weaknesses of each approach based on a multi-criteria analysis
method, this is our first step to design and implement concrete and effective
solutions for automatic generation issues, Moreover, this study will also help
the professionals in decision-making by facilitating the choice of The best
approach to be used according to desired criteria and their importance. Our
article goes into a global objective that aims automating the generation. |

Abstract: |
The amount of information has been increasing tremendously, especially with the
use of social media applications, such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
Twitter is a common social application that enables users to share their current
thoughts and actions, comment on breaking news, and engage in discussions.
Trends are typically driven by emerging events, breaking news, and general
topics that attract the attention of a large fraction of Twitter users. Thus,
trend detection is highly valuable to news reporters and analysts because they
may point to fast-evolving news stories. Researchers have been attempting to
detect trends using machine-learning techniques, such as clustering method based
on major languages (e.g., English, German, and French). The Arabic language
remains in its infancy, but the Arabic social media have been contributing to a
large amount of data because of the significant events in the Middle East. The
present research aims to detect trends in the Arabic social media. However, this
research must overcome several issues such as processing of Arabic
user-generated content and lack of resources. To solve these issues, this
research presents a voting combination clustering approach, which is divided
into six phases, namely, dataset collection from Twitter, text pre-processing,
spam filtering using Naïve Bayes, feature selection based on term
frequency–inverse document frequency and entropy, statistical analyses, and
evaluation. Three statistical approaches for clustering are used, namely,
co-occurrence, k-means, and voting combination. The analyses are performed to
classify the trends into three categories, namely, Arabic nationality events,
personal events, and other events. Experimental results indicate that the voting
combination clustering achieved 93%, 87%, and 90% for precision, recall, and
f-measure in trend detection, respectively. Finally, trend detection of events
is important to companies, governments, national security agencies, and
journalists to develop strategies to rectify them. |
