Abstract: |
The young Saudi entrepreneurs are adopting technology and innovation to
establish an online business. They are inspired by online companies who owns no
physical products except proven business process that runs by business
intelligence. For example, Uber, who own no physical inventory of taxies, a
retailer Facebook that owns no contents or Amazon with no inventory. One thing
is common among them, which they share with their customers; Trust. The younger
generation of entrepreneurs, likes to build a trusted relationship with
customers have a successful business relationship. In this respect, they like to
present products and services through the website which offers friendly
navigation, easy to follow processes, policies, and procedures. These business
processes, enhance the consumers positive perception towards the website and
boost the required level of initial trust. This paper discusses the impact of
these factors, specially the usability element towards the success of an
electronic website. From the entrepreneurial perspective, the study examined
that how vital it is to design a user-friendly interface and foster an initial
trust to keep the consumer interested and engage in the decision making process. |

LOSSLESS IMAGE COMPRESSION METHOD USING REVERSIBLE LOW CONTRAST MAPPING (RLCM) |
Author: |
HENDRA MESRA, HANDAYANI TJANDRASA, CHASTINE FATICHAH |
Abstract: |
This research introduces a new lossless image compression method by a transform
function named a Reversible Low Contrast Mapping (RLCM). This function was
successful to be implemented as a reversible watermarking method. This proposed
method divides an image into fixed-size blocks and groups the blocks into
watermark blocks and host blocks. Furthermore, the watermark blocks are embedded
in the host blocks. The proposed method does not use any other lossless
compression method in its algorithm. Nevertheless, the proposed method can still
be combined with other methods. On all the testing images, the compression ratio
of the proposed method achieves 1.19 on average. As a comparison, the Huffman
compression ratio is 1.08. By combining the method using the Differential coding
and the Golomb encoding, the compression ratio of the proposed method increases
to 1.32 on average. |

Abstract: |
At the present time, the digital society with such attributes as e-government,
e-learning, electronic document management, etc. is actively formed in
Kazakhstan, The country is actively carried out the introduction of information
smart-technologies in education, although in many countries the concept of Smart
education is already a standard way of learning. In this regard, nowadays there
is an urgent need for the use of artificial intelligence technology in the
learning process in our country. The learning efficiency is determined not only
by the choice of the education environment, but also by the knowledge
representation. As part of this work, we have attempted to develop intelligent
help system with the semantic knowledge representation. This system has more
advanced facilities to display the semantic structure of the subject field with
the corresponding navigation facilities. As a result of the knowledge
representation of the subject field in the form of hypermedia semantic network
it is possible to get associative information search, information output on the
various requests of the leaner, the visualization of the semantic structure of
the knowledge base. |

A NEW STRUCTURAL SIMILARITY MEASURE FOR CLUSTERING MULTI-STRUCTURED DOCUMENTS |
Author: |
ALI IDARROU, DRISS MAMMASS |
Abstract: |
Traditional methods of document comparison are based on the similarities called
"surfaces": a model of similarity based on descriptive properties of objects
without considering the relationships between these properties. We have proposed
a new structural measure, based on sub-graph isomorphism, taking into account
the distribution (order, position, etc) of components of the documents compared
and the relationships between these components (preserve more sense). Our
measure reflects both the contextual and structural aspects of documents
compared. In this work, we will show in detail our similarity measure and study
the impact of the similarity threshold (a parameter fixed previously) on
generated clusters. We evaluate our approach on a corpus of multimedia documents
extracted randomly from the INEX 2007 corpus and the corpus of descriptive
records of books in XML format from the library of the University of Toulouse 1
Capitole. |

Abstract: |
Internet technology has been growing and become one of the options for people to
interact with others. Now days, one of the most famous usage of the internet was
as an entertainment. Online game was a sample. For this reason, therefore the
online business games also growth among the public. As someone frequently play
the online games, interaction with other users could increase, which would lead
for more users to join the games community. In this community, users might
perform specific roles (role-playing), social interaction and exchange of
information. People who did interaction can create their own virtual world. This
was a new phenomenon in the human life among gamers. Meanwhile, previous studies
have not been sufficient to explain the question why did people tend to play the
games, entry to the virtual world, and brought it to the real life.
The aims of this study was to find out the motivation that drives someone to
play the game. This study also find out the effects of experiences and user
interaction as motivation to play online games. Furthermore, Massively
Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG) was chosen as an object. The
method of research proposed was qualitative study. The result of research could
show that it was very important to know the deeper effect on the attitudes of
players typologies constructed when people play the game. This typology could
explained the motivation of people for playing games. |

ON USING THE LINK GRAMMAR PARSER PROGRAM SYSTEM |

Abstract: |
Our main goal is to construct the algorithms that can estimate the document
relevance on the basis of the text structure analysis. It is important that this
estimate should be based on the context of the search query and not limited only
by keywords, their similarity or frequency. The semantic-syntactical relations
between words built by the program system Link Grammar Parser (developed in
Carnegie Mellon University, USA) can be used to solve these problems. They allow
us to develop the methods of comparison of the sentences in a natural language
and introduce certain measures of the closeness (similarity) between the
sentences. These measures take into account both lexical and syntactic relations
between words. Experiments with different types of sentences and links took
almost one year. It was observed that there is no need to use too many links.
First, the use of some links leads us to the analysis of diagrams which
correspond badly to intuition and principles of classical linguistics, and it is
not clear what we can do with them further. Second, there is also a complexity
aspect. If there are fewer links, the algorithm works faster. Therefore, a
compromise is necessary. The minimum variant giving good results is when only
eight connectors (links) are used. One of the problems we solve in the current
time is the development of a parser like Link Grammar Parser for Turkic
languages most frequent in the Internet, such as Kazakh, Uzbek (Cyrillic and
Roman alphabets), and Turkish. The results of our research are planned to be
used in different information retrieval systems. |

Abstract: |
In the present article a new failure model has been discussed with its necessary
parameters and functions like mean, variance, median, moments generating
function, characteristic function, reliability and hazard rate functions. A real
life data from Davis (1952)1 have been used to make numerical illustration of
the proposed model. We have successfully established that our model fits well in
a real life situation that endures the application of this model will definitely
enlarge the family of failure / life testing models. The proposed model is a
classic inverse J-shaped with constant failure rate. This model also satisfies
the property of forgetfulness .Finally, the performance of the proposed model is

Abstract: |
The article describes the issues of building models of documentary and
factographic search in multilingual scientific and educational information
systems, working with documents of rather free structure. A model of information
system document classification is proposed based on the use of tolerance
relation, taking into account possible absence of a priori defined classifiers.
Particular attention is paid to formation of feature space, taking into account
the morphology of the document language. The article contains an overview of
morphological text analyzers that can be used to determine the normal form of
word. The features of application of morphological analyzers are described;
their advantages and disadvantages are listed.
The rules for normalization of words of the Kazakh and the algorithm to handle
both vocabulary and non-vocabulary (including non-existent) words are developed.
A multilingual thesaurus of scientific and technical concepts (terms) on
information technology in English, Russian and Kazakh is developed. The system
of term normalization and interlingual compliance is implemented for it. |

Abstract: |
The electric energy produced by a PV array is as DC, most electrical loads
require AC voltage. also for the inverter DC / AC conversion is essential in the
operation of solar power. In this work describes a PV generator connected to
load by combining the functionality of a parallel active power filter to improve
power quality. The proposed system consists of a field of solar panels, a
single-phase voltage inverter and a filler. the principal objective of the
project the boost converter is to be used along with a Maximum Power Point
Tracking control mechanism. A global search method of maximum power point type
perturbation and observation (P & O) is applied. The MPPT is responsible for
extracting the maximum possible power from the photovoltaic and feed it to the
load via the boost converter and DC-AC converter which steps up the voltage to
required magnitude. The principal aim will be to track the maximum power point (MPP)
of the photovoltaic module so that the maximum possible power can be extracted
from the photovoltaic and simulating the operation of a PV inverter, which aims
to improve their performance. |

Abstract: |
Medical Ultrasound Imaging is a rapidly growing allied field of Imaging
Technology which is widely used around the world for diagnosis by clinicians.
Non ionizing radiation is what makes ultrasound imaging safe for non-invasive
imaging of human tissues. However, visual quality of ultrasound images poses a
challenge for the medical practitioner due to multiple reflections of ultrasound
signals. Numerous attempts have been made previously to improve the visual
quality of the ultrasound images. The paper presents a novel, structured visual
quality improvement mechanism based on daubechies (db) wavelet transform. In the
proposed methodology, the segmentation of the ultrasound medical image is
carried out with the help of active contour technique. The segmented image and
the original image are transformed into wavelet domain. Selected wavelet
coefficients are combined to improve the visual quality in terms of contrast and
edges enhancements. Visual quality enhancement is emphasized with
experimentation on medical ultrasound images obtained from AMMA Hospital
radiology scanning center in India. Usefulness of the proposed algorithm is
judged against denoising algorithms such as empirical mode decomposition (EMD),
linear filtering (LF), median filtering (MF), wiener filtering (WF), wavelet
based hard and soft thresholding and wavelet block based soft and hard
thresholding. Visual quality metrics computed are peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR),
normalized cross correlation (NCC), edge strength (ES), image quality index (IQI)
and structured similarity index (SSI). Simulations demonstrate that the proposed
enhancement algorithm outperformed the existing de-noising algorithms,
instigating for actual medical application. |

APPLICATION OF NEURO-FUZZY METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF VEHICLE FUEL CONSUMPTION |
Author: |
RAMADONI SYAHPUTRA |
Abstract: |
This paper presents the application of neuro-fuzzy method for prediction of
vehicle fuel consumption prediction. Prediction motor vehicle fuel consumption
has become a strategic issue, because it is not only related to the issue of
availability of fuel but also the problem of the environmental impact caused.
This study used automobile data, i.e. number of cylinders, displacement,
horsepower, weight, acceleration, and model year, while the output variable to
be predicted is the fuel consumption in MPG (miles per gallon). 'Weight' and
'Year' are selected as the best two input variables. The training and checking
errors are getting distinguished, indicating the outset of overfitting. The
results of this research are expressed in three dimension input-output surface
graph of the best two-input ANFIS model for MPG prediction. It is a nonlinear
and monotonic surface, in which the predicted MPG increases with the increase in
'Weight' and decrease in 'Year'. The training RMSE is 2.767; the checking RMSE
is 2.996. The greater the weight of the motor vehicle, the greater the amount of
fuel needed to travel the same distance. In comparison, a simple linear
regression using all input candidates results in a training RMSE of 3.453, and a
checking RMSE of 3.445. |

MODIFIED DYNAMIC NETWORK SELECTION ALGORITHM FOR HETEROGENEOUS OVERLAID NETWORKS |
Author: |
V.BHARATHI, L. NITHYANANDAN |
Abstract: |
To meet wide expectation and growing demand of mobile users, operators have
started to deploy different overlapping radio access network technologies. In
heterogonous overlaid networks, network selection decision is delegated to
mobile users to avoid processing and signaling overhead. In user centric network
selection, users select the network selfishly to maximize their utility and
cause undesirable network states. Selecting optimal network to meet user
experience with enhancement in network performance under dynamically varying
network environment is a real challenge. The existing online dynamic network
selection algorithm (DNSA) selects network only by considering change in user
demand type to meet user experience. Network assisted selection is another
existing algorithm which selects network based on dynamic change in network
state and improves network performance. In this paper modified dynamic network
selection algorithm (m-DNSA) is proposed which learns network state using
Boltzmann-Gibbs reinforcement algorithm, dynamic change in user demand type
using Markov Decision Process and selects optimal network. The m-DNSA also
considers cost of handover between different networks for selecting network.
Hence, it jointly improves performance of network and user experience. The
proposed algorithm is investigated in UMTS-WiMAX-WLAN overlaid networks with
different type of services and various economical categories of users.
Simulation results show that the proposed m-DNSA improves QoS of the users and
also increases throughputs of individual network compared with existing DNSA. |

A NEW TOMOGRAPHIC BASED KEYPOINT DESCRIPTOR USING HEURISTIC GENETIC ALGORITHM |
Author: |
S.HADI YAGHOUBYAN, MOHD AIZAINI MAAROF, ANAZIDA ZAINAL, MAHDI MAKTABDAR OGHAZ |
Abstract: |
Keypoint descriptor is a fundamental component in many computer vision
applications. Considering both computational complexity and discriminative
power, SURF descriptor among non-binary and BRISK among binary descriptors are
the prominent techniques in the field. Although, these descriptors have shown
remarkable performance, but they are still suffering weaknesses such as lack of
robustness against image transformations and distortions, especially blur, JPEG
compression and lightening variation. To address this matter, a new and robust
keypoint descriptor is proposed in this research which is adapted from
Tomographic-Image-Reconstruction technique. Convolution of associated image
patch and predefined Gaussian smoothed sensitivity maps yield a matrix whose
entities demonstrate the average intensity of the pixels at the convolved pixels
in the image patch. The initial descriptor vector is built by calculating the
absolute differences of all possible pairs of matrix. Then, the most
discriminative features of this initial descriptor vector are detected by
Heuristic Genetic Algorithm (GA). The Experimental result showed that proposed
keypoint descriptor outperformed some existing techniques especially in blur,
JPEG compression and illumination variation while it has reasonable performance
in other image transformations. |
