AND SVM CLASSIFIER |
Author: |
BRAHIM CHOURI, FABRICE MONTEIRO, MOHAMED TABAA, ABBAS DANDACHE |
Abstract: |
The This paper deals with a data-driven diagnostic and prognostic method based
on Stable distribution feature extraction and SVM Classier. The prognostic
process of the proposed method is made in two steps. In the first step, which is
performed online, the monitoring data provided by sensors are processed to
extract features based on stable distribution, which are then used to learn SVM
classifier that capture the time evolution of the degradation and therefore of
the systems health state. In the second step, performed on-line, the learned
models are exploited to do failure prognostic by estimating the assets current
health state, its remaining useful life. The experiments on the recently
published database taken from Pronostia of FEMTO, Prognostic data repository:
Bearing data set, clearly show the superiority of the proposed approach compared
to well establish method in literature. |

A NEW ALGORITHM FOR SELECTION OF BETTER K VALUE USING MODIFIED HILL CLIMBING IN
K-MEANS ALGORITHM |
Author: |
G KOMARASAMY, AMITABH WAHI |
Abstract: |
The k-means algorithm is a popular clustering method for text and web
collections. It gained its popularity due to its simplicity and intuition. The
algorithm is an iteration procedure and requires that the number of clusters, k,
be given a priori. This selection of k value itself is an issue and sometimes it
is hard to predict before the number of clusters that would be there in data.
This problem is resolved by using a metaheuristic method, the k means combined
with Bat Algorithm (KMBA) that utilizes the echolocation behavior of bats. KMBA
algorithm does not require the user is given in advance the number of cluster.
However, this KMBA does not guarantee unique clustering because we get different
results with randomly chosen initial clusters. The final cluster cancroids may
not be the optimal ones as the algorithm can converge into local optimal
solutions. So we blended k-means algorithm uses modified hill-climbing search to
attempt to find the global optimal solution of the objective function. These
Hill-climbing algorithms are iterative algorithms which make modifications that
increase the value of their objective function at each and every step. The
experimental result shows that proposed algorithm Modified Hill-climbing aided
K-Means Algorithm (MHKMA) is better than the existing algorithm KMBA and
ordinary k-means. |

Abstract: |
In many factory applications establishing communications between devices are
traditionally implemented by wired links. The accessibility robustness of
interface devices of CAN bus protocol is the mainly feature for its adoption by
the automation market. But the wired networks are a disadvantage in installation
and maintenance aspects, especially with fixed equipment where wires are in
constant danger of breaking. In this paper, we propose a design of gateway to
avoid communication between CAN bus and Bluetooth Piconet, with the main goal to
provide way to solve and reduce the wired difficulties. |

Abstract: |
Generally, wireless sensors networks, and particularly those used in embarked
computing, have answered with drastic temporal pressures. The optimization of
the methods of access to the medium is the only way which push’s or set for
bringing solution. Within effect, the technology IEEE 802.15.4 reposes on
functionalities orientated to toward that problematic issue. However, a big
number of holes unfortunately interfere and interrupt with that technology. A
work of identification and resolution of these holes make the object of this
article. In this objective, we propose an improvement of that method of access,
where speech has given turn to every wireless sensor network that is economize
energy. |

Abstract: |
After introducing Agile approach in 2001, several Agile methods were founded
over the last decade. Agile values such as customer collaboration, embracing
changes, iteration and frequent delivery, continuous integration, etc. motivate
all software stakeholders to use these methods in their projects. Moving to
Agile methods needs a huge change in organization and involved people. This
change is a fundamental and critical mutation. The main issue is that Agile
transition and governance action plan needs to consider different aspects of
change related issues. Conduction a Grounded Theory study with participation of
37 Agile experts from 13 countries showed that software companies should
consider three main factors before inception of transformation action plan:
Adoption styles, Method selection and Awareness of challenges and constraints.
These fundamental considerations encompass many critical items for Agile
movement and adoption process. However these items may lead to different results
in different companies, but they should be studied in deep before any transition
action plan. |

ARBITRARY SELECTION FOR AGITATE FLEXIBLE LOAD BALANCING IN HETEROGENEOUS PEER TO
PEER NETWORKS |
Author: |
Mr. P. MURUGESAN , Dr. A. SHANMUGAM |
Abstract: |
Peer to Peer Network access is the integral part of the day to day business for
most of the computer users. Preserving load balance on heterogeneous peer to
peer networks is a challenging purpose and several existing works presented load
redistribution algorithms for load division and load diversions at the instance
the new peer enters. The aim of load balancing in P2P networks is to equilibrium
the workload of the network nodes in quantity but lacks to eliminate traffic
occurring in the routes of the P2P network efficiently. In this paper, the
behaviors are characterized by eliminating the traffic using the Arbitrary
Selection Load Balancing (ASLB) Approach with Tremendous Store model. Tremendous
store model is investigated to extend the impact of node heterogeneity and
agitate to the load distribution in P2P networks. The performance of the
Arbitrary Selection Load Balancing (ASLB) Approach with Tremendous Store model
reduces the network traffic routes with minimal cost of P2P in contrast to
existing Saturn load balancing scheme. An analytical and empirical result offers
a collision free system with the quantization of information by balancing the
load in the P2P network system. Performance of the Arbitrary Selection Load
Balancing is measured in terms of peer failure probability and traffic control
efficiency. |

Author: |
BENS PARDAMEAN, TEDDY SUPARYANTO, RIFKY KURNIAWAN |
Abstract: |
This study evaluated the graph theory e-learning through the utilization of
Learning Management System (LMS). In this study, the experimental group used the
blended-learning method while the control group used the conventional learning
method. Blended learning is defined as a combination between e-learning with LMS
and conventional learning. T-test and Pearson's correlation analyses were
performed. T-test method was used in order to determine the significant
difference of scores between the experimental and the control groups. The result
demonstrated that students in the experimental group performed significantly
better than those in the control group. The pre-test scores in algebra,
calculus, and discrete mathematics showed no significant differences across the
board, demonstrating the homogeneity among both groups' participants.
Furthermore, the study also utilized the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to
measure user acceptance of the system. It was found that TAM can be considered
as a valid instrument to assess the user acceptance of a system which in this
study was the application of graph theory in LMS environment on a subject course
at higher education level. |

Author: |
MUHAMMAD IMRAN BABAR, MASITAH GHAZALI, DAYANG N.A. JAWAWI |
Abstract: |
Software quality assurance plays an important role to check the overall quality
of the software product especially when a product is a value based system. The
valuable software product or product line is tested under strict circumstances
to meet the minimum constraints of software quality. This paper focuses on
stakeholders, requirements engineering, different testing techniques being
applied in software professional environment, issues and current trends to
resolve the requirement problems for continuous software quality improvement.
This paper presents the criticality of stakeholders, requirements and software
testing techniques for software professionals in terms of quality assurance. A
model is proposed in order to achieve a high quality value based software
application. There is the dire need to integrate stakeholders, requirements and
testing in order to evaluate the performance and quality of a value based
system. A systematic stakeholder analysis framework does not exist, and there is
the need of a systematic framework that may be adopted as a standard. This
research also focuses on a systematic stakeholder’s identification and
quantification framework. |

AN INTEGRATED TECHNIQUE TO MAXIMIZE THE EFFICIENCY AND POWER FACTOR OF INDUCTION
MOTOR |
Author: |
N.ANBALAGAN AND S. CHENTHUR PANDIAN |
Abstract: |
In this paper, an integrated technique to maximize the efficiency and power
factor of induction motor is proposed. In the proposed method Artificial Bee
Colony (ABC) algorithm is used to optimize the induction motor’s parameters like
efficiency and power factor at particular loading points. From the optimized
parameters the exact values can be predicted by using the Fuzzy Logic Controller
(FLC) during the intermediate loading conditions, because the ABC parameters are
not providing the exact parameters for all type of loading conditions. The
proposed work is implemented using MATLAB/Simulink platform and performance of
the proposed technique is evaluated. Finally, the power factor and efficiency of
proposed technique is evaluated with ABC and FLC. |

University Agdal |
Abstract: |
The main drawback of induction generator in wind energy conversion systems
applications is its need for leading reactive power to build up the terminal
voltage and to generate electric power. Using terminal capacitor across
generator terminals can generate this leading reactive power. The capacitance
value of the terminal capacitor is not constant but it is varying with many
system parameters like shaft speed, load power and its power factor. If the
proper value of capacitance is selected, the generator will operate in
self-excited mode. This paper presents direct methods derived from loop and
nodal analyses to obtain different criteria for maintaining self-excitation and
performance characteristics of an isolated, three-phase, self-excited induction
generator (SEIG). Results of a detailed investigation on a conventional 3kW
induction motor operated as a SEIG are presented to illustrate the effectiveness
of the proposed method. |

APPLICATION OF SWALLOWTAIL CATASTROPHE THEORY TO TRANSIENT STABILITY ASSESSMENT
OF MULTI-MACHINE POWER SYSTEM |
Author: |
BUGIS I., MAITHEM HASSEN KAREEM |
Abstract: |
Transient stability analysis is an important part of power planning and
operation. For large power systems, such analysis is very demanding in
computation time. On-line transient stability assessment will be necessary for
secure and reliable operation of power systems in the near future because
systems are operated close to their maximum limits. In this manuscript
swallowtail catastrophe is used to determine the transient stability regions.
The bifurcation set represents the transient stability region in terms of the
power system transient parameters bounded by the transient stability limits. The
transient stability regions determined are valid for any changes in loading
conditions and fault location. The system modeling is generalized such that the
analysis could handle either one or any number of critical machines. This
generalized model is then tested on numerical examples of multi-machine power
system (Cigre seven machine systems) shown very good agreement with the time
solution in the practical range of first swing stability analysis. The method
presented fulfills all requirements for on-line assessment of transient
stability of power system |

SPRINGBACK EFFECT PREDICTION IN WIPE BENDING PROCESS OF SHEET METAL: A GA-ANN
APPROACH |
Author: |
S.PRAKASAM P.THANGAVEL |
Abstract: |
Sheet metal is one of the most important semi-finished products used in
automobiles, domestic appliances, aircraft and other familiar products.
Therefore sheet metal forming technology is an important engineering discipline
in the area of mechanical engineering. In sheet metal forming, wipe bending
process plays a major role in which the sheet metal tries to return to its
original shape after release of the load by a punch, due to the elastic
stresses. This phenomenon is called as springback and the angle between the
target bend and the original after elastic release is called sprinback angle.
Springback angle prediction is essential while engaging with such wipe bending
processes. State of the art methods use Artificial Neural Network with
conventional configuration for the prediction of springback angle. To improve
the prediction efficacy, this paper exploits Genetic Algorithm to provide
appropriate training to Artificial Neural Network. The experimental
investigations show that the proposed ANN approach predicts more precisely
compared to the conventional ANN approach. |
