NEW MODIFIED ELMORE DELAY MODEL FOR RESISTANCE-CAPACITANCE-CONDUCTANCE (RCG)
INTERCONNECT NETWORK SCHEME |
Author: |
R.UMA, I.KRISHNAPPRIYA, P.DHAVACHELVAN |
Abstract: |
This study presents a simple close-form delay estimate, based on first and
second order moments that handle arbitrary voltages and conductance effects for
a lumped and distributed line. This model introduces a simple tractable delay
formula by incorporating conductance (G) into RC network by preserving the
characteristics of the Elmore delay model. The accuracy of the interconnect
delay estimates can be improved by deploying the conductance effect. This study
proves that the proposed model attains quick steady state condition by
incorporating the conductance in a RC network thereby reducing the delay in
interconnects. The analysis is validated through extensive simulations on a 250
nm CMOS technology. The SPICE simulation shows the overall figure of merit has
an improvement of at least 28% when compared to RC Elmore Model and existing RLC
interconnect scheme. |

Abstract: |
Carrier Aggregation (CA) is one of the core proposals of LTE-A for bandwidth
expansion from current limit of 20MHz obtainable in LTE systems to 100MHz for
LTE-Advanced in order to meet ever increasing demand for high speed mobile
broadband services. Resource scheduling for UEs within frequency selective
environment is a complex scenario capable of impeding not only the higher data
rate expected but also the throughput and fairness for LTE-A systems. In this
paper we proposed a technique to effectively schedule the UEs within frequency
selective environment. Our proposed resource allocation paradigm is built on PF
algorithm with resource aggregation control mechanism. The control mechanism is
meant to improve system throughput and fairness. The improvement is ensued by
considering the UEs’ environment experience and aggregation capability metrics
before scheduling. Our approach titled ‘improved proportional fair algorithm for
resource scheduling (IPF-RS) is different from existing works that assume non
frequency selective environment for scheduling. Simulation results show that the
fairness and throughput can be improved. |

Abstract: |
This paper addressed a comprehensive modelling and functionality requirement
evaluation of perpetual production logistics inventory system for
small-to-medium enterprises. The main idea is to analyse the system behaviour
and data transactions invoked by a module-based inventory system using business
process modelling and object-oriented data modelling techniques. The paper
explains through the methodology and modelling procedure which eventually leads
to a computerized inventory information system as a module able to be integrated
with other back office systems in production logistics. The system is able to
manipulate all inbound warehousing operations including docking, storing, and
retrieval data as well as actual inventory SKU balance dynamically to keep the
inventory data instantly up-to-date and in real-time. The functionality of the
solution is evaluated based on the identified inventory system requirements
responding to all inventory controlling of receiving, allocating, load
balancing, and traceability linking through different types of lookups and data
queries. |

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN COMPUTATIONAL GRID WITH ECONOMIC BASED ALLOCATION MODEL
USING PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION (PSO) |
Author: |
R.VENKATESAN, K. THANUSHKODI |
Abstract: |
In grid environment, based on economic model, grid users who submit jobs and
grid resource providers who provide resources have different motivations. Due to
autonomy of both in gird users and resource providers, their objectives often
conflict. This paper, review the Literature studies and techniques to solve the
grid resource allocation problem. The problem of allocating resources in Grid
environment requires the definition of a model that allows in considerable level
in the code of allocating right resources to right jobs, poor economic model to
communicate in order to achieve an efficient management of the resources
themselves. Some of the drawbacks occur during grid resource allocation are low
utilization, less economic reliability and increased waiting time of the jobs.
Hence in this paper, the efficiency of the resource allocation mechanism is
improved by proposing one allocation model. The allocation model technique which
is presented in this paper has used the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to
overcome all the above mentioned drawbacks. This model also considers the
economic reliability and this model overcomes the poor economic model drawback
that is in the existing method. The economic based model is implemented and
experimented with different number of jobs and resources. The proposed model has
also been compared with the conventional resource allocation models in terms of
utilization, cost factor, failure rate and make span. |

A SUSTAINABLE APPROACH TO AUTOMATE USER SESSION BASED STATE MACHINE GENERATION
FOR AJAX WEB APPLICATIONS |
Author: |
ANUJA ARORA, MADHAVI SINHA |
Abstract: |
A whole new generation WEB 2.0 is being written to take advantage of extreme
dynamism as in AJAX. AJAX is used to build rich internet applications that are
more interactive, responsive, and easy to use. With the advent of Ajax which
involves extreme dynamism, novel problems add to those already known in the Web
testing area. For Testing an AJAX application, a sustainable approach is
required to detect faults embedded area. Faults embedded areas are those areas
where states of web application will get changed. Here, in this research paper,
our focus will be on generating state machine of dynamic behavior of an AJAX web
application. To detect faults in any web application optimum approach is model
based testing. Here intention is to generate effective state machine which will
be able to detect all dynamic states of user session applied on web application.
Therefore, we designed a framework to generate state machine of user sessions
performed on web application. A prototype tool is developed to automate and
validate the whole process. We applied whole process on five case studies and
results have shown that we are able to successfully detect whole Events,
dynamically changing DOM Elements and all dynamically generated States. |

APPLICATION OF AN INTERLINE POWER FLOW CONTROLLER AS AGC |
Author: |
G. RADHA KRISHNAN, Dr. V. GOPALAKRISHNAN |
Abstract: |
In recent years, power demand has increased substantially while the expansion of
power generation and transmission. It has been severely limited due to limited
resources and environmental limitations. As an outcome, some transmission lines
are heavily loaded and the system stability becomes a power transfer-limiting
factor. Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) controllers have been mainly
used for solving various power system steady state control problems. Interline
Power Flow Controller is a versatile device can be used to control power flows
of a multi-line system or sub-networks. It can be anticipated that the IPFC may
be used to solve the complex transmission network congestion management problems
that transmission companies are now facing in the transmission open-access
environment. A controller was proposed in the generation side of the power
system. In order to obtain this objective, the Power Injection Model (PIM) is
implemented into the modified IEEE 30-bus test system. The power optimization of
the overall system can be obtained in the form of appropriate power transfer
between the lines using the IPFC scheme, a new form of IPFC's utilization, that
is, as an AGC actuator based on generation scheduling. The IPFC's model taking
into account its practical constraints is implemented into the IEEE 30-bus test
power system and programmed using the modified Newton-Rapson algorithm with
MATLAB and the results are provided which indicates that IPFC can be used as an
AGC. |

A FUZZY PROGRAMMING BASED TECHNIQUES FOR VARIATION AWARE MULTI-METRIC
OPTIMIZATION |
Author: |
T.S.KARTHIK, V. JAWAHAR SENTHILKUMAR |
Abstract: |
The uncertainty due to process variations is modeled using interval valued fuzzy
numbers and a fuzzy programming based optimization is proposed to improve
circuit yield without significant over design. In addition to the statistical
optimization methods, we have proposed a novel technique that dynamically
detects and creates the slack needed to accommodate the delay due to variations.
The variation aware gate sizing technique is formulated as a fuzzy linear
program and the uncertainty in delay due to process variations is modeled using
fuzzy membership functions. The timing based placement technique; on the other
hand, due to its quadratic dependence on wire length is modeled as nonlinear
programming problem. The variations in timing based placement are modeled as
fuzzy numbers in the fuzzy formulation and as chance constraints in the
stochastic formulation. In the context of dynamic variation compensation, a
delay detection circuit is used to identify the uncertainty in critical path
delay. The delay detection circuit controls the instance of data capture in
critical path memory flops to avoid a timing failure in the presence of
variations. |

FAULT DETECTION AND GROUPING OF ERRORS IN MPLS NETWORKS |
Author: |
VENKATA RAJU S, GOVARDHAN A, PREMCHAND P |
Abstract: |
On MPLS/GMPLS networks, heavy data loss occurs within the minimum duration of
time, during fault prevalence. It is difficult to handle these faults as it may
cause critical network survivability issue. Most of the research estimates the
failure probability, bandwidth and delay of all routes using the traditional
shortest path algorithm which leads to huge delay and overhead. In order to
detect the fault in real time scenario, in this paper, we propose information
based fault detection and grouping for fault detection in GMLPS/MPLS. In this
technique, fault detection is based on the data present in the network. This
involves the detection of router fault, link failure, and fault at nodes. In
order to enhance the fault detection of an MPLS network, it has been considered
forward detection and backward detection. This detection technique provides the
next generation researchers a chance to detect the fault detection and solution
techniques according to information already present in the network and the real
need of the network. Simulation results show that the proposed approach provides
high detection accuracy with reduced loss and delay. |

HYBRID ADAPTIVE JOB AND RESOURCE SCORING META- SCHEDULING SYSTEM FOR GRID
COMPUTING |
Author: |
N.KRISHNAMOORTHY, R.ASOKAN |
Abstract: |
Grid is a heterogeneous system that allows sharing of resources. Grid computing
is a technology that works what super computer does. Scheduling independent jobs
to the resources is not an easy task. Meta-scheduling schedules maximum number
of jobs to the minimum amount of resources which is a very tedious task. Many
scheduling algorithms exist to focus either on the job side or on the resource
side. Current Grid meta-schedulers are either based on system-centric metrics or
utility metrics provided by the users. In the proposed work, to utilize the
power of grid completely, both the job and resources are taken into account.
Jobs are prioritized based on the common location sum that considers both user
and system priority. Resources are prioritized based on the computing power
which is obtained as the normalized value of the CPU_available. So the high
priority job can be submitted to the corresponding resources based on the
computing power and it helps to improve the performance and reduce the
completion time of the job. |

REGULATION ON ACCESS TO INTERNET: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS |
Author: |
MUTUA NICHOLAS MUTHAMA |
Abstract: |
Regulation on access to Internet is a tool that is crucial to the growth of any
nation. Some problems arise as attempts to implement regulation on access to
Internet are concerned in both developing and developed countries. For example,
privacy and lack of it on online information is a subject that has challenged
the existing legal and regulatory infrastructure of access to Internet. Other
problems to Internet access pointed out in this paper include; inadequate
Internet regulations, inappropriate legislation, security, piracy, hacking
online transaction, cyber crime, unsolicited e-mail, racism and xenophobia.
To overcome these problems, some remedies are necessary. Regulation for user and
internet service providers, provision of security of systems, Education, content
restrictions on unsolicited mails, continued assessment of the internet and
protection against access to illegal information is solutions suggested. The
paper concludes by looking at how academic institutions, work places, business
atmospheres have access to Internet and the need to strengthen the current
legislation and enforce procedures not only to system administrators but also to
employees. Finally a recommendation of computer policy in organizations is made
towards achieving a controlled access to the Internet. |

MODELING OF MEDIATION SYSTEM FOR ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS COLLABORATION THROUGH MDA
AND SOA APPROACHES |
Author: |
SAIB SARA, BENMOUSSA RACHID, BENGOUD KENZA |
Abstract: |
The interoperability between enterprise systems and their integration deeply
depends on their ability to collaborate efficiently. Therefore, in this paper we
study the collaboration of enterprise systems through the analysis of
collaboration of business processes. We propose to design a collaborative
architecture based on the MDA principles. The CIM level of the approach targets
the construction of the collaborative business process (CBP). To design a CBP
that responds efficiently to the need, it is necessary to develop a knowledge
based system to generate the CBP, the KBS is composed of three main parts: the
first one concerns the acquisition of participant knowledge, in the second part
we define two ontologies, collaborative ontology to structure knowledge about
the future collaborative network, and business process ontology to structure
captured knowledge for future use. A set of deduction rules is defined to
extract knowledge from ontologies and the last part focuses on the composition
of the collaborative business process using BPMN language according to extracted
information. In the PIM level we define a set of transformation rules that
transform the collaborative business process generated by the KBS into a set of
services based on SOA principles. In this paper, we will present the theoretical
aspects of each part of the approach as well as the tools used in each part. |

Abstract: |
The deregulated power industry meets the challenges of increase their profits
and also minimize the associated risks of the system. Instead of this the demand
of the system must be satisfied. This can be done by the optimum bidding
strategies of the generating companies and the large consumers. Here we proposed
a new hybrid technique with an aggregate demand model to develop the optimum
bidding strategies. The demand prediction of the system has been determined by
the Neural Network, which is trained by using the previous year demand dataset.
The training process is achieved by the back propagation algorithm. The proposed
hybrid technique is the combination of the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm
and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method. The ABC algorithm has three stages
like employee bee, onlooker bee and scout bee. The third stage of the ABC
algorithm i.e., the scout bee, uses the PSO technique. This could improve the
fitness of the system, the maximized fitness is the optimal bidding strategy of
the system. The other techniques like ABC and PSO fitness results also will be
evaluated. The results for all the three techniques will be analyzed in this
paper. The implementation of the proposed technique could be implemented in the
MATLAB platform. |

Abstract: |
The end user service development known as the user-centric SOA emerged as a new
approach that allows giving the end user the ability to create on the fly his
own applications that meet a situational need. In fact, the classical SOA was
designed for developers and is characterized by a heavy technical stack which is
out of reach of end users. The user-centric SOA approach brings great added
value taking advantage from the creativity and the participation of end users;
furthermore, it is becoming a key factor of competitiveness within enterprises
and is influencing other disciplines. The Cloud Computing and the Enterprise
Architecture are two fields that captured growing attention in recent years and
that can gain maturity and efficiency from adopting and embracing the
user-centric SOA approach. In this paper, we present the user-centric SOA
approach and we give an overview of our solution for an efficient user-centric
services creation. Then we study the impact of the user-centric SOA on the Cloud

Abstract: |
Bluetooth (BT) is presently the primary wireless technology for short range
Personal Area Network (PAN). Piconet is the basic unit of networking in BT that
contains one master and from one to seven active slave devices. Piconets can be
interconnected to form a scatternet. Scatternet formation and routing are the
important areas on which considerable research has been done so far. Security is
another important issue for BT scatternets. BT specification provides security
measures for piconets but secure communication in a scatternet is an open
problem. In our research we specifically consider routing security in BT
scatternets. We describe a number of routing threats and then present an
authenticated routing scheme which is based on Zone Routing Protocol. We
evaluate the scheme through simulation and show that it effectively secures the
route discovery process in BT scatternets. |
