Abstract |
In the past two decades, the technique of
image processing has made its way into every aspect of todays tech-savvy
society. Its applications encompass a wide variety of specialized disciplines
including medical imaging, machine vision, remote sensing and astronomy.
Personal images captured by various digital cameras can easily be manipulated by
a variety of dedicated image processing algorithms .Image restoration can be
described as an important part of image processing technique. Image restoration
has proved to be an active field of research in the present days. The basic
objective is to enhance the quality of an image by removing defects and make it
look pleasing. In this chapter, we propose an image restoration algorithm in
MATLAB which is based on the neighbourhood property of a pixel. We focus on a
certain iterative process to carry out restoration. One such method described in
this regard is the Nearest Neighbourhood Method. |

Abstract |
The primary goal of this paper is to
identify the elements involved in quality assessment of website structure.
Always quality of website structure is based on its navigability, average number
of clicks and structural complexity. The web tool PowerMapper is used to
establish the sitemap for the website, path length metric is used to evaluate
average number of clicks to get desired web page and web site structural
complexity is determined with cyclomatic complexity. The quality of web site
structure is measured in 10-point scale and scale is formulated by considering
various levels of website tree structure. The status of web site structure is
determined in 10-point scale and the value suggests the improvement of the site

Abstract |
Software reuse has become a topic of much
interest in the software community due to its potential benefits, which include
increased product quality and decreased product cost and schedule. The most
substantial benefits derive from a product line approach, where a common set of
reusable software assets act as a base for subsequent similar products in a
given functional domain. The upfront investments required for software reuse are
considerable, and need to be duly considered prior to attempting a software
reuse initiative |

Abstract |
The Universal Mobile Telecommunications
System (UMTS) offers panoply of 3G services that require a high protection of
the transmitted information. In the present paper, we are interested by network
access security, especially the protection of the data integrity and the
provisioning of data encryption. A special interest will be given to the second
set of 3GPP cryptographic algorithms UEA2/UIA2 based on the SNOW 3G algorithm.
This set was, in fact, a subject only of few research works in comparison with
the first one based on KASUMI algorithm. A closer look is taken at both the
encryption algorithm UEA2 and the integrity algorithm UIA2 operations. The
different operation modes of the algorithm SNOW 3G will be presented as well. A
study of the time and space complexity of three algorithms has been carried out |

Abstract |
Next generation wireless network is
foreseen as the combination of heterogeneous wireless networks capable of
providing enhanced services to mobile users. Vertical handoff is a crucial issue
in providing service to mobile users, in a heterogeneous network. To maintain
continuous service during vertical handoff period, the handoff procedure should
consider the noise and interference in the networks. In this article, we have
proposed an algorithm based on the received signal to inference plus noise ratio
(SINR) for handoff between GPRS and WiMAX networks. Here SINR from WiMAX network
is converted to the equivalent SINR of the GPRS network and vice-versa, so that
the handoff algorithm can have the knowledge of achievable bandwidths in both
the networks. This helps in taking a handoff decision. Simulation study on
handoff between GPRS and WiMAX networks using QualNet showed that consideration
of received SINR during the vertical handoff period maintains better system
throughput |

Abstract |
Test scheduling is crucially important for
optimal SoC test automation in allocating the limited available test resources.
To assign test resource, this paper introduces a fuzzy based engine. Test
pipelining is used to minimize the time of testing the SoC. The power
consumption during the test process should be under control, without exceeding
the maximal power and damaging the whole systems. Concurrent behaviors are due
to the adept of process algebra .Based on the procedure, the parallel test
actions are mapped into concurrent process to outline the test scheduling scheme
for SoC core concurrent test. Power Swarm optimization based optimum renders
solution to the multiple constraints like test power dissipation, test resources
and test priorities prevail in the algorithm for SoC test scheduling based on

Abstract |
This paper presents the design of optimal
fuzzy logic controller (FLC-ACO) controlled shunt active power filter (SAPF)
for harmonics compensation which is injected by nonlinear loads, such as
rectifier equipment used in telecommunication system, power suppliers, domestic
appliances, ect. Firstly, the controller designed according to Fuzzy logic rules
is such that the system is fundamentally robust. In the second case, the optimal
adjustment of the membership functions and normalization gains are realized by
using Ant Colony Optimization. Simulations results show the best dynamic
behaviour and performance control compared with traditional Fuzzy controller, as
well as effective in reducing harmonic |

Abstract |
Quick changes in requirements and
opportunities in world market needs different levels of cross-organizational
collaboration for integrating distributed information systems, information
sharing and coordination of organizational processes. Nowadays, Web Services are
the most common technology to meet these requirements. Web Services Choreography
Description Language (WS-CDL), a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
choreography-based standard, describes how a number of services coordinate to
obtain the goal of such collaboration. Only a few WS-CDL based executive models
have been proposed so far. Software Agents are other alternatives for solving
Inter-Organization coordination problems. This paper presents an execution
framework for WS-CDL using software agents. This framework provides the Web
Services collaboration layer based on choreography model and automatically of
agent generation of WS CDL. It also follows Web Services stack and native
features of agents and Web Services |

Abstract |
Handwritten recognition is a very active
research domain that led to several works in the literature for the Latin
Writing. The current systems tendency is oriented toward the classifiers
combination and the integration of multiple information sources.
In this paper, we describe two approaches for Arabic handwritten recognition
using optimized Multiple classifier system MCS . The first rests on cooperation
and selection of feature set in MCS studying the effect of fusion methods on
global system performance The second one used Diversity measures and individual
accuracy classifier for selecting the best set of classifier; its chooses among
the classifier set the one with the best performance and adds it to the selected
classifiers subset. The performance in our approach is calculated using three
diversity measures based on correlation between errors. On two database sets
using 10 different classifiers, we then test the effect of: the criterion to be
optimized (diversity measures), and fusion methods (voting, weighted voting and
Behavior Knowledge Space). The experimental results presented are encouraging
and open other perspectives in the domain of classifiers selection especially
speaking for Arabic Handwritten word recognition |
