Abstract: |
Equitable-spatial distribution is a significant component of urban planning
which should be guided by sustainable development strategies. This paper
presents the suitability analysis for elementary school (ES) in Mukalla city; it
measures the accessibility of educational services, and the different between
the residential requirements and supply offered of ES. It has also proposed a
GIS model based on suitability analysis to figure out the suitable location for
a new ES and the alternative site for existing ESs, to make it more suitable.
The results have shown that overall districts have suffered a shortage of
schools. As well as spatial inequity in services provision. It would also be
inappropriate distribution because its proximity from land uses (i.e. Fuel

CONCEPTUAL MODEL FOR CLOUD ERP ADOPTION FOR SMES |
Author: |
KHAMIS HAJI SALUM, MOHD ZAIDI ABD ROZAN |
Abstract: |
The Small and Medium Enterprise industry is experiencing a major transformation
towards cloud ERP systems. These systems can organize, and maintain data
remotely, accept a pay-as-you- use method and enhance related information
through a cloud computing platform. Hence, this makes the cloud ERP system
crucial for their sustainability and enables them to become competitive in the
market. However, the adoption rate of cloud ERP among Small and Medium
Enterprises (SMEs) has been recorded as slightly low compared to other
enterprise systems like Customer Relationship Management. This could be
attributed to unclear adoption factors among SMEs and the lack of a theoretical
model that can enhance the predictive power to adopt a cloud ERP system. To
address this gap, the objective of this study is to develop a conceptual model
by which to investigate the broad factors which influence or inhibit the
adoption of cloud ERP, the model based on TOE, DOI and FVM. Thus, this model
intends to help SMEs managers understand and increase predictive capacity on
cloud ERP adoption. The model has been constructed using four dimensions,
namely; task, technology, organization and environmental. Findings from this
study are projected to be able to instruct SMEs decision-makers on the factors
that will lead to successful adoption. The proposed model will be a critical
lens for decision-makers on cloud ERP adoption. |

ENERGY AND DELAY REDUCTION ALGORITHM FOR CLUSTER BASED CONGESTION CONTROL IN
WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS |
Author: |
C.J.RAMAN, DR.VISUMATHI JAMES |
Abstract: |
In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), delay has be reduced in delay sensitive
applications at cost of increased energy consumption, since there is a tradeoff
between delay and energy consumption in WSN. But most of works in WSN focus on
reducing the energy rather than the delay. Hence the main aim of this work is to
reduce both the delay and energy consumption in delay sensitive applications of
WSN. In this paper, an efficient energy and delay reduction technique for
cluster based congestion control model is proposed. In this technique, the
cluster head (CH) is elected based on the energy level of the node. Each cluster
member transmit the data and its remaining energy information to the
corresponding cluster head as per the given time slot schedule. The delay in
data transmission can be reduced by adaptively adjusting the active mode of the
node based on the congestion status and distance of node. By simulation results,
we show that the proposed technique reduces the energy consumption and delay of
highly loaded sensor nodes. |

OPTIMIZATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL TIMING ON ROAD NETWORK USING CELLULAR AUTOMATA
AND FUZZY INFERENCE SYSTEM |
Author: |
E.B. SETIAWAN, D. TARWIDI, R.F. UMBARA, S.N. KUDRAT |
Abstract: |
The large number of vehicles in big cities has become a serious problem in
adjusting the timing of traffic signal at intersections of road networks.
Traffic light control is an important factor in road traffic system. In this
paper, optimization of traffic signal timing at signalized intersections on road
network is presented. The movement of vehicles on road network is modeled by
cellular automata while the fuzzy inference system is used to obtain optimal
traffic signal timing. The performance of fuzzy inference system is determined
by the delay time average at signalized intersections. Delay time is addition
time required by a vehicle to pass through signalized intersection compared to
road without intersection. Cellular automata and fuzzy inference system are
running together through computer simulation program. The optimal signal timing
from the simulation is compared to fixed time or static scheme which is obtained
from historical data of six signalized intersections in Bandung City, Indonesia.
The numerical results show that traffic signal duration obtained from fuzzy
inference system is more efficient than the existing historical data of
observation and it can reduce the level of congestion. The simulation results
also show that the traffic signal timing can adjust with the number of incoming
and outgoing of vehicles at the intersections on road network. The results can
be suggested to the local government to improve the traffic signal system. |

TWINS MULTIMODAL BIOMETRIC IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM WITH ASPECT UNITED MOMENT
INVARIANT |
Author: |
BAYAN OMAR MOHAMMED, SITI MARIYAM SHAMSUDDIN |
Abstract: |
In the field of pattern recognition twin’s biometric identification is currently
a popularly studied subject. In some situations, the mechanism of twins’
biometric Identification leads to the finding a distinctive pattern of a
person’s biometric. Correspondingly, there has been considerable improvement
made on the Unimodal biometric identification to identify identical twins with
respect to its accuracy and reliability, with some traits that show sound
performance. However, owing to great level of similarity, it is much more
challenging to identify Identical twins as opposed to identifying non-twins. In
order to deal with this problem, the application of more than one biometric
trait is proposed; the Multimodal biometric system. Meanwhile, in pattern
recognition it is crucial to extract and select features that are meaningful.
This brings the attention to the major issue in twin handwriting-fingerprint
identification: how to obtain features from numerous writing and styles twin
handwriting-fingerprint so that the right person between twins can be reflected.
Hence, the Aspect United Moment Invariant is proposed in this study as
extraction of feature with identical twin multi-biometric identification. |

Abstract: |
This paper presents a web-based graduation-project management system that
utilizes project-based and networked learning methods. The system is developed
using Moodle open source platform that employs social constructivism learning
theory. The main objective of this system is to manage and control activities
such as submission of project deliverables, grading, evaluation, announcements,
and supplementary course material along with facilitate an efficient
communication between the many participants in the graduation project course
including: students, supervisors, mentors, examiners and graduation project
committee members. While students can organize their deadline submissions with
less effort, supervisors and graduation project committee can track and monitor
students’ transactions instantaneously. To highlight the advantages of using a
web-based graduation-project system a Social Network Analysis is applied to
study the interactions messages amongst all participants using cohesion measures
including density and centrality. The results of analyzing the learning network
of the graduation project system show that students interact and communicate as
active learners while the system can assist supervisors and other participants
in coordinating and managing the processes of the graduation project course. |

ENHANCED BORDER GATEWAY PROTOCOL IN NS- 2 BY ADDING THE HOT POTATO FUNCTIONALITY
BASED ON REAL NETWORK |
Author: |
SAMI ABBAS NAGAR, SULAIMAN MOHD NOR, MOHAMED SAAD BOBA |
Abstract: |
The rapid growth of the Internet has made the issue of ensuring reliability and
redundancy a big challenge. Studies of these issues using Traffic Engineering
and simulation have been extensively done. There has been substantial interest
from researchers in the development and contribution of modules in NS-2. Most
studies have not taken into account real traffic parameters in their simulation
models. Also, there is no comprehensive model consisting of Border Gateway
Protocol (BGP) and Hot Potato (HP) routing in the NS-2 network simulator based
on real networks. In this paper, Integrated Model is introduced consisting of HP
algorithm and BGP integrated into the NS-2 network simulator. The integrated
model is then used to simulate the infrastructure of a real production network
using actual captured traffic data parameters. The network is modeled with a
baseline topology where 5 main nodes were connected together, with redundant
links for some nodes. The simulations were repeated for link failures. HP helps
in improving the node which experiences a link failure to select shorter
distance route to egress router. In the case of a link failure, HP switching
time between the links is 0.05 seconds. The integrated model performance was
evaluated by comparing trace file before and after link failure or by adding
nodes (up to 32). The parameters used for comparison are the packets loss, delay
and throughput. The integrated model error percentage obtained for packets loss
is 0.025%, delay 0.013% and throughput 0.003%. |

IMPROVED ERROR REDUCED EXTREME LEARNING MACHINE (IERELM) CLASSIFIER FOR BIG DATA
ANALYTICS |
Author: |
B. RAJENDRAN, Prof (Dr.) SARAVANAN VENKATARAMAN |
Abstract: |
Nowadays the term ‘Big Data Analytics’ has been talked everywhere due to the
advancement of information technology, evolution of computer applications,
mobile communications and much more. This paves the way for doing lot of
research in this big data arena. It is common to known that classification is
one among the thrust research dimension in the field of big data particularly in
the field of data analytics. Machine learning algorithms have lot of scope on
analytics; particularly extreme learning machine is a kind of feed-forward
neural network that is commonly applied for performing classification task. This
machine learning ELM algorithm has single layer hidden nodes with randomly
assigned weights for connecting with hidden layer. It is to be noted that
feed-forward neural networks in extreme learning machine are poor in updating
the weights that leads to performance degradation. Computational complexity is
certainly more when applying ELM for big data analytics. This part of doctoral
research work inclines high motivation for improving the performance of ELM in
terms of reducing the error and we named it as Improved Error Reduced ELM
shortly coined as IERELM. The performance of the proposed IERELM mechanism is
applied for performing the classification task in KDD Cup 99 multivariate
dataset that contains 40,00,020 instances with 42 attributes. Obtained results
portrays that the proposed IERELM performs better in terms of detection rate,
false alarm rate and elapsed time to perform classification. |

DETECTION OF BURR TYPE III RELIABLE SOFTWARE USING SPRT: AN ORDER STATISTIC
APPROACH |
Author: |
K.SOBHANA, Dr. R. SATYA PRASAD, Dr. R. KIRAN KUMAR |
Abstract: |
The acceptance of a software system depends on its reliability. Assessing
reliability takes more time using classical hypothesis as the volume of data
increases day by day. The volumes of data can be transformed using order
statistics. Order statistics deals with applications of ordered random variables
and functions of these variables. Sequential Analysis of Statistical science is
very quick in deciding the reliability or unreliability on developed software.
The method adopted is, Sequential Probability Ratio Test (SPRT) for continuous
monitoring of the software. The likelihood based SPRT proposed by Wald is very
general and it can be used for many different probability distributions. In this
paper, the mean value function of Burr type III distribution based on
Non-Homogenous Poisson Process (NHPP) with Order statistics and Sequential
Probability Ratio Test is applied to analyze the results. Maximum Likelihood
Estimation (MLE) is used to derive the unknown parameters of mean value function |

FUZZY AND NON-FUZZY APPROACHES FOR DIGITAL IMAGE CLASSIFICATION |
Author: |
MOHAMMED DIYKH, YAN LI |
Abstract: |
This paper classifies different digital images using two types of clustering
algorithms. The first type is the fuzzy clustering methods, while the second
type considers the non-fuzzy methods. For the performance comparisons, we apply
four clustering algorithms with two from the fuzzy type and the other two from
the non-fuzzy (partitonal) clustering type. The automatic partitional clustering
algorithm and the partitional k-means algorithm are chosen as the two examples
of the non-fuzzy clustering techniques, while the automatic fuzzy algorithm and
the fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm are taken as the examples of the fuzzy
clustering techniques. The evaluation among the four algorithms are done by
implementing these algorithms to three different types of image databases, based
on the comparison criteria of: dataset size, cluster number, execution time and
classification accuracy and k-cross validation. The experimental results
demonstrate that the non-fuzzy algorithms have higher accuracies in compared to
the fuzzy algorithms, especially when dealing with large data sizes and
different types of images. Three types of image databases of human face images,
handwritten digits and natural scenes are used for the performance evaluation. |

Abstract: |
Light Emitting diode (LED) video displays are future of large-area display
market. Their scale, their durability and their ability to produce an attractive
video in ambient light conditions, make them the favorable screens in all
display systems. To increase the light quality of LED displays, it is necessary
to improve the techniques that control the light variations while keeping stable
energy consumption. This technique has become a major objective in the design of
such displays systems. This paper presents a comparative study between two
techniques to control brightness levels of LED displays, the first technique
controls by varying direct current amplitude (DC), the second by varying the
duty cycle of the current square wave with fixed amplitude (PWM). The paper also
proposes an improved PWM solution, which is based on the approximation of the
PWM curve to the DC curve in order to have the luminous efficiency as the last
one. The demonstration is presented as a serial of mathematical calculations to
choose the intermediate point and build low-cost hardware algorithm for this new
method. The performance of this method is studied experimentally using the FPGA
design and is compared with the PWM method. |

DATA ACQUISITION AND DISCRETIZATION FOR FLOOD CORRELATION MODEL |
Author: |
NOR IDAYU AHMAD AZAMI, NOORAINI YUSOFF, KU RUHANA KU-MAHAMUD |
Abstract: |
Flood is among the natural disasters caused by complex factors such as natural,
breeding, and environmental. Moreover, the variability of such factors on
multiple heterogeneous spatial scales may cause difficulties in finding
correlation or association between regions under study. The interaction between
these factors may result in the provision of either diverse or repeated
information, which can be detrimental to prediction accuracy. Therefore, in this
study, a model has been developed to find the association between the factors
that cause flood. In particular, a Bayesian Network-based method is proposed to
quantify the dependency patterns in spatial data. It has been shown that
although many factors may be important with respect to the flood for a
particular region, the same factors may not be important for other regions. The
probabilistic model has been successfully used in problems in which the
dependency between the factors is of interest. Furthermore, the effect of the
proposed fuzzy discretization on the association performance has also been
investigated. The comparison between different data discretization techniques
proved that the proposed method gives a better result with the precision of
0.992, F-measure of 0.980, and receiver operating characteristic of 0.984 for
three correlation models, respectively. |

Abstract: |
Predictive evaluation is essential in order to map the performance of students
from the Department of Computer Science of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
Faculty of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), a state university in Semarang,
Indonesia and graduation of students in a timely manner can also be predicted.
This predictive evaluation can be seen by making a system based on the algorithm
of Naďve Bayes Classifier (NBC). The data were taken from the performance of
students which is the GPA from the 1st semester up to the 4th semester. The
problem is how to predict the success of students in Computer Science Department
of UNNES to graduate on time based on the performance of students from the 1st
semester to the 4th semester? The main purpose of this research is to produce a
system based on NBC algorithm that is able to predict the success of students to
finish the study on time based on the performance of the students which is the
GPA of the 1st semester to the 4th semester. To resolve this problem, the
research divided into two stages of completion. The first stage was the
literature review. This stage has been conducted by the researchers. The second
stage determined the prediction of Computer Science student achievement using
the method of NBC. This stage including (1) Data Collection, (2) Build a data
mining system, (3) Data Processing, (4) Conducting the process of prediction,
and (5) Analysis of Results. Based on the calculations of NBC that has been
carried out, it can be concluded that 85% of students will graduate on time. The
use of NBC will be better when more training data. |

HYBRIDIZING INVASIVE WEED OPTIMIZATION WITH FIREFLY ALGORITHM FOR UNCONSTRAINED

Author: |
HYREIL A KASDIRIN, N. M. YAHYA, M. S. M. ARAS, M. O. TOKHI |
Abstract: |
This study presents a hybrid invasive weed firefly optimization (HIWFO)
algorithm for global optimization problems. Unconstrained and constrained
optimization problems with continuous design variables are used to illustrate
the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm. The firefly
algorithm (FA) is effective in local search, but can easily get trapped in local
optima. The invasive weed optimization (IWO) algorithm, on the other hand, is
effective in accurate global search, but not in local search. Therefore, the
idea of hybridization between IWO and FA is to achieve a more robust
optimization technique, especially to compensate for the deficiencies of the
individual algorithms. In the proposed algorithm, the firefly method is embedded
into IWO to enhance the local search capability of IWO algorithm that already
has very good exploration capability. The performance of the proposed method is
assessed with four well-known unconstrained problems and four practical
constrained problems. Comparative assessments of performance of the proposed
algorithm with the original FA and IWO are carried out on the unconstrained
problems and with several other hybrid methods reported in the literature on the
practical constrained problems, to illustrate its effectiveness. Simulation
results show that the proposed HIWFO algorithm has superior searching quality
and robustness than the approaches considered. |

SABAH AL-FEDAGHI |
Abstract: |
Over the last three decades, research in the area of context-aware computing has
involved many different prototypes, systems, and solutions. Context-aware
computing is concerned with the acquisition of context, the abstraction and
understanding of context, and application behavior based on recognized context.
One of the challenges of context-aware computing is difficulty in rethinking of
domain models. The problem discussed in this paper is how to model a “context”
and how this model influences the design of information system software. In the
software development life cycle, this problem falls in the phase of requirements
analysis and design. This paper proposes a new approach to modeling “context” in
the design of information systems, using flow-based diagrams that could play a
role in the design of context-aware systems. |

Abstract: |
Ad hoc methods have complete self planning and self-configuring capabilities,
that needs no current program features or management. Hypothetically TCP happens
to be a transport-layer technique designed to provide a efficient end-to-end
submission of data over untrustworthy methods. But actually TCP actions some
complications in multi hop ad hoc methods especially direction issues. To
address this problem previously an improved TCP technique to cope with direction
issues using discussion identification using obstruction window difference (CWA–CD)
methods is designed and used. Although it's efficiency is appropriate its
incapability to consider node versatility as a part to cope with direction
issues is a cause for issue. So for a effective and better program efficiency we
suggest to use a choose and focus on forwarder a history requirements that
controls node versatility part along with CWA–CD methods. The requirements
contains ongoing up-dates of location information for every small-time periods
of time and steps to sort out the delivering history that helps connections. A
realistic performance of the recommended program validates the declare in terms
of efficiency. |

Abstract: |
The wide potentials of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) technology make it the
best solution for sensing the surrounding environment and to monitor physical
and phenomenal conditions. Indoor environmental monitoring is well-known
application of WSN. Most of the systems proposed in literature are concerned
with the detection and tracking of an object or an event in two-dimensional
plane. This paper presents a statistical analysis of the aggregated sensed data
that reporting about a dynamic event happened in an indoor environment. It helps
to infer the development of the dynamic event in three-dimensional space. It is
important to know the size of the area where a dynamic event, such as fire or
gas leak, has occurred in order to take proper safety measures and prevent
undesirable consequences. The results of the analysis are validated through
simulation experiments, which in turn, verify the theoretical concept presented
in this paper. |
