LITERATURE REVIEW ON ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND CONSERVATION IN MOBILE DEVICE |
Author: |
ABDIFATAH FARAH ALI , NAJWA HANIS MOHD HATTA , KOH TIENG WEI |
Abstract: |
Mobile devices are increasing in number today. Consequently, computational
resources are growing in tandem. Energy consumption has become a major issue all
over the globe. On mobile devices (smart phones),there is a huge gap between
battery power capabilities as well as innovations with other technologies (for
example, developing and also memory space), this is especially the case with
examining the rapid development in its consumed energy-lost mobile phone in
different area (such as, multimedia streaming). Most of the insufficient power
supplies and also the need for minimizing energy depletion offers the commitment
for professionals to create energy consumption techniques or model for
coming-generation wireless network. Based on the above, it is necessary to take
the approach for energy consumption minimization and improvement of energy
conservation into consideration. This could help achieve the desire of green
technology for using less energy power in mobile devices. To gain this aim is it
possible? Consequently, heterogeneous approach in energy consumption and
conservation in mobile device which have been proposed by various researchers
has been investigated in this paper. This would help to put in proper
perspective the different energy consumption models directed at energy
conservation. |

SUSTAINABLE ADOPTION AND IMPLEMENTATION IN COLLABORATIVE ENTERPRISE: A
SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW |
Author: |
BOKOLO ANTHONY JNR, MAZLINA ABDUL MAJID, AWANIS ROMLI |
Abstract: |
Human life is reliant upon the natural environment, which, most would agree, is
rapidly degrading; presently one of the most difficult problems that humanity
faces is the sustainable development of our society, i.e. how to meet the needs
of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet
their own needs. The sustainable enterprise is one that contributes to
sustainable development by simultaneously delivering economic, social, and
environmental benefits. Sustainability has been increasingly becoming a tactical
consideration for developing Green practices through balancing social, economic
and environmental performance of collaborative enterprise (CE). As the perceived
importance of eco-sustainability has grown, there has been increasing discussion
on both eco-sustainable solutions. An understanding of the process, variables
and related attributes that influence CE to adopt and implement sustainable
practices may contribute in creating a Green CE. Presently there are a few Green
ITIS and sustainability review paper published, however none of these review
papers aimed at exploring Green process, variables (independent, moderating,
mediating, control and dependent) and their related attributes in relation to
adoption and implementation of Green practices in CE. Thus to get a clear
understanding of how practitioners and decision makers implement and adopt
sustainable practice in CE, this paper carries out a systematic literature
review to investigate existing research in the domain of Green ITIS and
sustainability in CE. Findings from this paper show that existing models and
frameworks are limited with the capability to support IT practitioners to make
strategic decision on how to implement and adopt Sustainable practice in CE.
This paper also shows the Green ITIS process, variables and their related
attributes to be considered in going Green in CE. Existing Sustainable models
and frameworks developed in CE previously was also explored. Lastly the
discussion, contribution, limitation, implication of the study, conclusion and
future work is stated. |

AN OPTIMIZED MAX-MIN SCHEDULING ALGORITHM IN CLOUD COMPUTING |
Author: |
J. KOK KONJAANG, FAHRUL HAKIM AYOB, ABDULLAH MUHAMMED |
Abstract: |
The fundamental problems with cloud computing environment are resource
allocation and cloudlets scheduling. When scheduling cloudlets in cloud
environment, different cloudlets needs to be executed simultaneously by the
available resources in order to meet consumers’ expectations and to achieve
better performances by minimizing makespan and balancing load effectively. To
achieve this, we proposed a new noble mechanism called Modified Max-Min (MMax-Min)
algorithm, inspired from Max-Min algorithm. The proposed algorithm finds a
cloudlet with maximum completion time and minimum completion time and assigns
either of the cloudlets for execution according to the specifications for the
purpose of boosting up cloud scheduling processes and increasing throughput.
From the results of the simulation using CloudSim, it shows that our proposed
approach is able to produce good quality solutions, producing good values of
makespan and balancing load effectively as compared to the standard Max-Min, and
Round Robin algorithms. |

PROPOSED HYBRID METHOD TO HIDE INFORMATION IN ARABIC TEXT |
Author: |
SUHAD M. KADHEM , DHURGHAM W. MOHAMMED ALI |
Abstract: |
In this method a new proposed approach to hide English texts (Secret data) in
the Arabic text (Covers media). The secret text will be passed through several
steps, Eventually it will be embedded in the cover text. In the proposed coding
step each English character is converted to the binary code through secret
tables that exist on the two sides (sending and receiving), which give us
compression data. The output from the proposed coding will be two parts and
these parts will be input to the next steps.
The next step is Modified RNA Codon (MRNAC) which takes the first part that
result from binary code and returns a stream of binary to be ready for embedding
in embedding step.
After that Modified Run Length Encoding (MRLE) that takes the second part that
results from the proposed coding method and this result always contains a
sequence of ones with fewer zeros, and apply RLE to this result.
The last step is the embedding step using specific Arabic Unicode characters and
non-printed characters to embed the secret information and provide complete
similarity between cover text and stego text since these characters don’t appear
when written. |

Author: |
RAED I. HAMED |
Abstract: |
Many studies have used different types of mathematical modeling and simulation
in solving examination genetics behavior problem. The solutions of the genetics
behavior are found to be efficient and reliable with neural fuzzy system. This
paper provides a comprehensive study of genetics behavior problem. This study is
frequently robust or even difficult to get accurate information regarding
genetics behavior. Here, we exhibit a model of quantitative fuzzy rationale
demonstrating approach that can adapt to obscure motor information and hence
deliver applicable results despite the fact that dynamic information are
fragmented or just dubiously characterized. Fuzzy Petri nets (FPNs) gives a
graphically and scientific system that is good with ineffectively quantitative
yet subjectively huge information. All of genes regulatory networks (GRNs)
quests depend on fresh and parametric qualities, in spite of innate fuzzy nature
of quality expression. In the proposed display, a quality expression profile is
initially changed into a mapping structure and afterward the changed information
are mapped into the fuzzy framework. The models of FNPN are characterized in
view of creating tenets of information base and the FPN semantics depiction of
legitimate principles are displayed. Since the relations are spoken to by fuzzy
method, the invented strategy is powerful to uproarious and questionable data.

Abstract: |
This paper describes a strategy to develop a model electric car control of
induction multi-machine drive using single-inverter under unbalanced load
conditions. It is discusses improving existing multi-machine field-oriented
control methods using Diagonal Recurrent Neural Network (DRNN), and analyses and
compares them from dynamic performance. By this method the speed and current
difference for both motors due to load fluctuation was minimized. Therefore, the
motors will remain in sync without any slippage speed on the second drive. Based
on simulation results is known that the current steady state, the controller
DRNN produce both motors speed difference is smaller (2 rad/sec) when compared
using the PI controller (7 rad/sec). |

Author: |
DEWA GEDE HENDRA DIVAYANA, I MADE ARDANA, I PUTU WISNA ARIAWAN |
Abstract: |
Algebra courses are probably difficult enough for most students in a college.
This is because most students have not understood their basic concepts. To
understand the basic concepts of algebra, the students are required to spend
more time in learning the courses and in doing the exercises. In addition, they
also have to be brave to ask the lecturers if they find problems. It is in this
context that a lecturer has to be ready to transfer his knowledge to the
students, either using conventional teaching materials or multimedia facilities,
so that they can understand the knowledge given to them. This research aims to
know the use of evaluation model through mobile technology in measurement of
effectiveness of a lecturer in transferring Algebra knowledge through of
multimedia facilities. In order to realize these objectives, the lecturer has to
give an evaluation. In addition to giving the evaluation to the students, the
lecturer also needs to give questionnaire to the students to know the students’
response to/view about the lecturer’s method in transferring his knowledge. The
evaluation model used in this study to determine the degree of effectiveness of
a lecturer in transferring his or her knowledge to the students was the
formative-summative model combined with certainty factor method. The technology
used to measurement of effectiveness is a mobile technology, specifically
Android application. |

PROGRAMMABLE AMPLITUDE OF PORTABLE ELECTRICAL STIMULATOR FOR MULTI-CHANNEL
FUNCTIONAL ELECTRICAL STIMULATOR (FES) SYSTEM |

RACHMAD SETIAWAN, ACHMAD ARIFIN, FAJAR BUDIMAN, ADI SOEPRIJANTO |
Abstract: |
Fundamental research about Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) indicates
that FES can be used to rehabilitate motoric system of patient experiencing
damage at arrangement of central nerve resulted from cerebrospinal of cord
injury (SCI) and also stroke. To generate impulse to human body organ activated
by FES is difficult and very complex because of nonlinearity response from
neuromuscular system, various response of musculoskeletal system such as having
long time delay and fatigue phenomenon (muscle fatigue). Therefore, an
open-looped control system is inappropriate to employ. Close-looped control is
feasibly appropriate to overcome this constraint in FES appliance to yield
accurate impulse generator. For the application of closed-loop control at
clinical level, FES system must be designed using portable multi-channel device
to pleasant the patient. In this research, the realized FES stimulator is
designed by employing a highly linear boost converter circuit using fixed
frequency and duty cycle ranging from 0% to 25%, because it yields relatively
linear and higher output voltage swing than FES controlled by frequency. |

Abstract: |
Thyroid is a disease, managing of which a difficult proposition in a clinical
set up. Many researchers have developed different machine learning techniques to
diagnose the disease. Different models had been developed using different
algorithms for prediction of the disease. In this proposed research, an
integrated model using two neuronal models (SOM and LVQ) have been developed for
the purpose. The unlabeled dataset consisting of 215 instances has been gathered
from UCI repository. Five inputs have been considered for the model. They are
Triiodothyronine, serum Thyroxin, Total Serum Triiodothyronine, TSH, Max TSH and
the output is considered as status which has values 1(hyper),2(hypo) and
3(Normal). The integrated model has been developed using competitive learning
algorithm along with vector quantization algorithm. The outcome of the
integrated model has been compared with decision tree model in predicting the
disease and it is observed that the integrated model outperformed the decision
tree model with respect to the accuracy of the network. The integrated model has
been developed with .net technology and the decision tree model is generated
using statistical programming language using R. |

COMPUTER BASED GENOMIC SEQUENCES ANALYSIS USING LEAST MEAN FORTH ADAPTIVE
ALGORITHMS |
Author: |

Abstract: |
True prediction of protein coding regions in a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a
major task in the field of Bioinformatics. Study of regions which code for
proteins is a key aspect of disease identification and designing drugs. The
sections of DNA that include protein coding information are known as exons.
Mainly exon regions in the genes show three base periodicity (TBP), which serves
as a base for all exon locating methods. For locating the exon regions many
techniques have been applied successfully, but development is still needed in
this area. Using signal processing methods, TBP can be easily determined.
Adaptive signal processing techniques found to be apt due to their diverse
ability to alter filter co-efficients depending on the genomic sequence. In this
paper, we propose efficient an adaptive exon predictor (AEP) based on these
deliberations for DNA sequence analysis and computing. In order to increase the
exon locating capability, we develop various AEPs using normalized least mean
forth algorithm (NLMF) and its variants. These proposed AEPs notably reduces
computational complexity and provides better performance in terms of performance
measures like sensitivity, specificity, and precision. It was shown that
variable normalized least mean forth (VXENLMF) based AEP is found to be superior
than NLMS in exon identification applications based on performance measures with
Specificity 0.7468, Sensitivity 0.7562, and Precision 0.7523 at a threshold of
0.8 for a genomic sequence with accession AF009962. Also, this algorithm
performs better with respect to convergence by normalization of step size.
Finally the exon locating capability of various AEPs is tested using several
real DNA sequences obtained from National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI)
database and compared with existing LMS method. It was shown that proposed AEPs
are more efficient for locating exon regions in a DNA sequence. |

Abstract: |
In recent times, power consumption and the area efficiency has become a
challenge in designing Very Large Scale Integrated Circuits (VLSI). CORDIC
(Coordinate Rotational Digital Computer) has come out as its solution in
performing trigonometric elementary functions because of the fact that uses only
shifters and adders. In this article, CORDIC potentiality is exhibited as it
finds its applications in many streams like Communication, Digital Signal
Processing and Image processing, angle rotation in hyperbolic, linear and
circular coordinate systems, Vector transformation, scientific calculators,
Robotics. The latency of Taylor series expansion to compute sine/cosine angles
is also discussed. The Xilinx implementation of CORDIC is simulated and the
overview of its applications in modern era is presented. The proposed paper
explains the performance of CORDIC with the elimination of sine block in the
initial stages as the sine of the smaller angles is negligible. |

Abstract: |
In this paper, we are proposing a novel high sensitive, more reliable structure
for an accelerometer sensor with silicon material which detects the resting
tremor (continues tremor or Pill rolling tremor) of a patient suffering from
Parkinsons Disease. The essential tremor frequency is from 3Hz to 7Hz. The
Proposed structure is simulated using COMSOL Multi Physics 5.0 CAD tool and
results are compared with the different shaped proof mass with different
materials of a moving part of sensor. The minimum range of Eigen frequency that
the proposed structure got 2.3572Hz and the maximum range is 8.679Hz with a
displacements of 1.04μm to 2.74 μm. It is evident that now a days only the
clinical based tests are the conventional tests to detect the severity of the
tremor for Parkinsons Disease as per the UPDRS. In this paper we are proposing
the new methodology to detect the resting tremor of Patient which is the initial
symptom of the Parkinsons Disease. It is clear from the results that the
Silicon material for proof mass gives the best sensitivity values when compared
to all the materials of polymers. The capacitive actuation technique is proposed
in this paper to identify the output capacitance and voltage because it gives
high sensitivity and accuracy and reliability. |

In this proposed work, implemented a cryptographic system for symmetric
encryption and hamming code for error detection and correction. Symmetric key is
using same duplicate data i.e. key data for both encryption and decryption. In
this encryption and decryption process hamming code which is used to check the
one bit error if any. Encrypting a message can be done by supplying a message
along with the key while the process of decryption can be done by passing the
key along with the resultant output in order to obtain the original message. For
this process AES algorithm was adopted. The original 8-bit data is 1’s
complemented and it will be swapped based on the select lines and swapped data
is XOR’ed with the original data finally the encrypted data will be transmitted.
Encrypted data is the combination of both swapped data and encrypted data
i.e.16-bit data. To get original message data the Swapped data is XOR’ed with
the encrypted data which is decrypted data. |

Abstract: |
Thermal wave imaging makes use of thermal response over the stimulated surface
for detection of anomalies underneath the surface of the test object which
requires the deployment of various post processing approaches to extract fine
subsurface details. These subsurface details appear at various moments depending
on their depth and size. Extraction of these fair details with low axial and
temporal resolutions provided by thermal imagers against various noises is a
criterion of importance in thermal wave imaging. Capability of non stationary
thermal wave imaging to explore the subsurface details within a single
experimentation at low powers resulting in gaining the interest in using it
motivated the recent research to incorporate various new processing modalities
intended to extract fine details along with this stimulation mechanism. This
paper highlights the application of various post processing modalities to
extract subsurface details using experimentation carried over a glass fiber

Abstract: |
Face recognition plays a challenging role in the field of image processing.
Though one of its benefit is that the person can easily be identified among the
crowd through face recognition, but it has several issues that need to be
overcome such as facial expressions, ageing, occlusion etc. Face recognition
method can only be entertained, if it can identify the face correctly. Global
features (DWT, PCA) and point based features (Harris corner, SURF) both are
considered to create a fusion based system for automatic face recognition.
Accuracy, sensitivity and precision are the performance evaluation parameters
are evaluated. The comparative study of various standard and conventional
feature extraction techniques is carried out in this paper in order to decide
which approach is more suitable for accurate face recognition. Fusion based
approach gives 99.4 percent accuracy. |

Abstract: |
This paper demonstrates a novel multi band reject filter using complimentary
split ring resonators .Here the proposed antenna was designed using Ansys HFSS
software. This multiband reject filter attenuate frequencies at 2.67 GHz, 3.5
GHz, 6.6 GHz, 9.1 GHz and 11.3 GHz. This multiband reject filter is used to
enhance the bandwidth and improve the return loss with the help of complimentary
split ring resonators on the ground plane. The SRR is a common structure to
implement meta-material properties. The SRR consists of concentric metallic
plates etched on a dielectric surface which is used to increase the frequency
attenuation characteristic and in turn placing these SRR at desired position led
to increase of bandwidth from 0.1232 to 0.1561. The band reject filter is prone
to frequency distortions which are removed by the complimentary split ring
resonators. The split ring that was taken in the paper shown a good increase in
the bandwidth but in order to increase the bandwidth more we opted to take an
another complimentary split ring resonator over the original split, which
increased the bandwidth more. The proposed band stop filter antenna
characteristics are used for the medical application such as electrocardiogram. |

Abstract: |
The electromagnetic signal from the satellite while travelling down to the earth
should pass through various layers of the atmosphere like troposphere,
stratosphere, ionosphere etc. These layers won’t act as a transparent layer but
instead they provide some obstacles in the path of the signal travel and changes
the characteristics of the signal. With the advancements in technology the users
are not at all compromising in using the applications like data applications,
web applications, simultaneous audio video transfers, etc. which results in
excess usage of the conventional frequency bands. So, the modern applications
are likely to be designed at higher frequency spectrum i.e. Ku, Ka & V bands.
The influence of the layers mainly depends upon the frequency of the signal. As
we are dealing with the frequencies above 10 GHz the ionosphere acts as a
transparent layer but the troposphere influence the signal characteristics. In
this paper, we are going to analyze and compute the tropospheric impairments
like attenuation due to rain and tropospheric scintillations for the
geographical area of K L University, Vaddeswaram located at 16.44oE latitude and
80.62oN longitude. |

Abstract: |
A circular disk-shaped monopole ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna having a small area
of 26 x 31 x 1.6 mm3 was proposed in this paper. The antenna printed on FR4
material of permittivity 4.4 and height of 1.6mm. Microstrip line having a width
of 3mm is used to excite antenna. The band-notch from 3.2 to 3.7 GHz is achieved
by incorporating C-shape slot having a length of 28 mm on the radiating patch.
Two symmetrical C-shaped strips are placed near to the feeding line edges to
achieve another notch at 5 to 6 GHz. The proposed antenna is operating in the
whole ultra-wideband from 2.4 to 11.8 GHz while rejecting electromagnetic
interference from WiMax and WLAN systems. The simulated results such as
S-parameters, VSWR, radiation patterns, current distributions, and gain shows
that the antenna is well appropriate for wireless portable devices. |

Abstract: |
Anomaly detection is still a difficult task. To address this problem, we propose
to strengthen DBSCAN algorithm for the data by converting all data to the graph
concept frame (CFG). As is well known that the work DBSCAN method used to
compile the data set belong to the same species in a while it will be considered
in the external behavior of the cluster as a noise or anomalies. It can detect
anomalies by DBSCAN algorithm can detect abnormal points that are far from
certain set threshold (extremism). However, the abnormalities are not those
cases, abnormal and unusual or far from a specific group, There is a type of
data that is do not happen repeatedly, but are considered abnormal for the group
of known. The analysis showed DBSCAN using the improved algorithm can detect
this type of anomaly. Thus, our approach is effective in finding abnormalities. |
