AMER HASAN TAHER, LAYTH A. AL-JABERI, AHMED MANCY MOSA |
Abstract: |
This work aims to optimize the mix proportions of Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC)
mixtures by Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) technique. Ninety-nine sets of RPC
mixes with their results from six different sources are used to check the
reliability of the model. The values of compressive strength (Fc), Splitting
Tensile Strength (Fsp) and Flexural strength (Fr) were specified as the input
parameters. The values of sand to powder ratio (S\P), water to powder ratio
(W\P) and volume of steel fiber (Vf) are computed and specified as the output
parameters. (Fc) model with an architecture Multi Layers Perceptron (MLP) 3-40-1
had (0.95) training performance, (0.4%) training error, (0.93) testing
performance and (0.4%) testing error. Fsp model with MLP 4-13-1 has (0.99)
training performance, (0.014%) training error, (0.99) testing performance and
(0.011%) testing errors. The primary predicting model has the architecture MLP
3-14-3. It also has training performance, training error, testing performance
and testing error values of (0.96), (0.8%), (0.93), and (1.2%) respectively. All
of the ANN models show very good percentages of correlation between target and
output values with very low values of error, and high percentage of matching
between targets and outputs, and no clear trend to overestimation or
underestimation. |

Author: |
AHMED ELREFAIY, AHMED RAFAT ABAS, IBRAHIM ELHENAWY |
Abstract: |
In the view of a significant increase in the burden of information over and over
the limit by the amount of information available on the internet, there is a
huge increase in the amount of information overloading and redundancy contained
in each document. Extracting important information in a summarized format would
help a number of users. It is therefore necessary to have proper and properly
prepared summaries. Subsequently, many research papers are proposed continuously
to develop new approaches to automatically summarize the text. “Automatic Text
Summarization” is a process to create a shorter version of the original text
(one or more documents) which conveys information present in the documents. In
general, the summary of the text can be categorized into two types:
Extractive-based and Abstractive-based. Abstractive-based methods are very
complicated as they need to address a huge-scale natural language. Therefore,
research communities are focusing on extractive summaries, attempting to achieve
more consistent, non-recurring and meaningful summaries. This review provides an
elaborative survey of extractive text summarization techniques. Specifically, it
focuses on unsupervised techniques, providing recent efforts and advances on
them and list their strengths and weaknesses points in a comparative tabular
manner. In addition, this review highlights efforts made in the evaluation
techniques of the summaries and finally deduces some possible future trends. |

Abstract: |
Wireless communication system is a system that transfer information among two or
more points that are not connected by an electrical conductor while microwave
filter is the elementary element in each radio frequency (RF) front-end
telecommunication structure, moreover as band reject or band select components
for transceivers and receivers. In designing a complicated wireless
communication system or any other system that is working at microwave
frequencies, noise is one of the big challenges. One of the techniques that can
be used to avoid noise, or any other interference signal is by applying
filtering techniques. For microwave communication front-end system, a band-stop
filter can separate frequency band positioned inside a wide-ranging pass-band.
Firstly, a single-band matched band-stop filter using T-shape resonator. Two
different design had been done at 1.0 GHz and 1.5 GHz with S21 center frequency
at – 16.063 dB and – 14.059 dB, respectively. Then, the combination of the
multiband matched band-stop filter using T-shape resonator will be design at
center frequencies of 1.0 GHz and 1.5 GHz with two S21 center frequency at –
16.281 dB and – 16.962 dB, respectively. The simulation process for this design
is using Advanced Design System (ADS) simulation software and fabricated using
FR-4 board. In real situation, this project will be able to isolate the signal
of interest from interference signals at desired frequencies. |

Author: |
NADIA A. SHILTAGH, MAHMOOD Z. ABDULLAH, AHMED R. ZARZOOR |
Abstract: |
An energy-effective routing is a fundamental task in a Wireless Sensor Network
(WSN) topology. It supplies a better cost metric covering wireless route
quality. Quality of Service(QoS) is behold critical design disquiet in routing
protocols for WSN. Both energy and QoS parameters are used to assess network
communication performance. In this study an evaluation conducted to Secure
Mobile Sink Node location using Dynamic Routing Protocol (SMSNDRP) into two
phases: routing generating and routing evaluation. In routing generating phase,
the best path is selected based on the minimum distance between (Cluster head CH
and mobile Sink Node SN) and highest CH residual energy. While in routing
evaluation phase, the quality of each path is measured via creating five
scenarios, one for static SN and four for mobile SN. The NS 2.35 simulator is
used to implement the routing evaluation phase. The main aim of this study is
proposes a technique to specify the best quality route that meets the QoS
constraints for all SMSNDRP generated routes, in order to choose the best route
for routing data to the SN, it must have the highest packet drop ratio, average
throughput and less end to end delay that achieved better performance than other
routes in the network. |

NEW APPROACH FOR PREDICTING SHAPE OF GEOTEXTILE TUBES BASED ON DEGREE OF FILLING
FA |
Author: |
YASSINE AMALLAS , YOUSSEF AJDOR |
Abstract: |
Geotextile tubes are severally more and more used in maritime field as systems
to protect beaches against coastal erosion or as core of dykes. They are
envelope of geotextile in the form of tubes, filled by pumping sand or other
dredging material and installed in the site to protect the beach against
erosion. The predicting of dimensions of these tubes is very important. In
literature, because these dimensions give the structure its stability against
several conditions of wave and current of the site installation. There are many
studies to calculate dimensions of these structures (Silvester 1986 [6],
Leshchinsky et al. 1996 [2] [3] [4], Kazimirowicz 1994 [5], Plaut and Suherman
1998, Malík 2009, Cantré and Saathoff 2010 [6], Chu et al. 2011, Guo et al.
2011, 2013), but they require the running of a computer program and this limit
their access to general public. The most popular is the approach presented by
Leshchinsky et al. (1996)[2] in the program GeoCoPS 2.0 [3] [4]. In this
paper, a new numerical approach was established to calculate dimensions of
geotextile tubes regarding the filling rate FA (%).The results were presented in
an computer program. The approach developed is based on same relationship used
by Leshchinsky and other authors and iterations of all parameters. At the
conclusion of this paper formulas, depending only on FA (%), to calculate
dimensions of filled geotextile tube are proposed. |

MINING INTERESTING POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ASSOCIATION RULE BASED ON GENETIC TABU
HEURISTIC SEARCH |
Author: |
HODA M. WAGUIH, SAAD M. DARWISH, MOHAMED A. OSMAN |
Abstract: |
Association rule mining is a very efficient technique for finding a strong
relation between correlated data. For the mining of positive and negative rules,
a variety of algorithms are used such as Apriori algorithm. Practically the data
set can contain a large number of data entities which form a large number of
rules set. For the understanding of efficient relation, it is needed that rules
should be kept as minimum as possible without losing the useful information.
This is a difficult task and can be seen as optimization problem. To eliminate
the multi-scan problem and reduce a large number of mined rules, in this paper,
we propose a novel approach to mine interesting positive and negative rules from
frequent and infrequent pattern set based on genetic Tabu heuristic search with
key innovation to optimize genetic population of rules. Genetic Tabu Algorithm
(GTA) follows procedures similar to the Genetic Algorithm (GA). However, for the
selection process, GTA uses the Tabu search process to enhance the quality of
mined rules in some way that is efficient in time and memory. The suggested
algorithm is accomplished in two phases: (1) generate frequent and infrequent
pattern set. (2) Efficiently generate optimized positive and negative rules by
using useful frequent pattern set and GTA. Experiment results show that the
proposed algorithm can efficiently generate positive and negative association
rules and outperforms the traditional algorithms in terms of time and quality. |

Abstract: |
In recent years, the popularities of smartphones and its apps have been growing
exponentially. This growth have made mobile applications more complex and
require a large amount of energy to run in an efficient manner. It means mobile
applications rely heavily on battery consumption. However, battery consumption
is still a limiting factor in mobile applications development. To this end, a
mobile software architecture plays a crucial role in determining the performance
of a mobile application in terms of energy consumption. Up to date, there has
been limited work to assist mobile applications developers to select the most
suitable software architecture that intends to manage resources consumption
during the design phase accordingly. Hence, this paper aims at presenting a
consumption analysis of two different architectures, namely; Server-centric
architecture and Mobile-centric architecture. This analysis helps to identify
the least energy-consuming architecture. Moreover, Data Retrieval Information
System (DRIS) in Android mobile applications has been used as a case study to
prove the effects of software architectures concept in reducing energy
consumption. The analysis results have shown that Mobile-centric architecture is
less energy-consuming. |

Author: |
ROSMAYATI MOHEMAD, SITI ZULAIKHA KAMARUDDIN, NOOR MAIZURA MOHAMAD NOOR |
Abstract: |
Due to socioeconomic changes, many people in both developed and developing
countries are struggling with overweight and obesity as a result of sedentary
lifestyle and unhealthy dietary habits. Preventive strategies need to be
established to promote awareness on balanced diet and active lifestyle to
improve overall health population. Attempts in health care services to provide
the guidance for decision making in nutrition counseling have been done through
the development of web-based decision support systems. Although these decision
tools prove to be helpful in promoting suitable changes to the eating habits
among overweight and obesity people as part of their health treatments, the
tools are lacking to focus on preventive strategies especially among healthy
people to cultivate the healthy lifestyle habits. This include to provide
personalized menu plans that consider and suit users diversity requirements and
their body needs. Therefore, objective of this study is to design and develop a
web-based decision support system for recommending dietary meal plan based on
the Daily Calorie Requirement (DCR) and daily activity level, known as
eDietForYou. This tool could assist people to achieve their ideal weight in the
way as recommended by dietitian. All of the calculations and decisions are
suggested automatically by the system. Hence, this system is robust and reliable
as there is no human error. |

ONTOLOGY-BASED ENHANCEMENT OF RULE LEARNING FOR INFORMATION EXTRACTION |
Author: |
FATINE JEBBOR, LAILA BENHLIMA |
Abstract: |
Several data sources like social networks and blogs are providing increasing
amounts of unstructured data in natural language. This data contains useful
information that must be identified automatically, quickly and with high
precision. Therefore, different Information Extraction (IE) approaches were
proposed like Rule-based and Statistical ones. The majority of rule learning IE
systems present a recurring problem caused by the generation of a set of
irrelevant and unnecessary rules, which affects the quality of the extraction
results. Hence, we propose in this paper a novel and generic approach to
increase the performance of these extractors in order to avoid missing important
information or providing erroneous one. It consists in enhancing the rule
generalization through using a domain ontology designed to make the systems able
to generate only the most likely useful rules. To prove its efficiency, our
solution is applied to (LP)2 system and empirically tested on a corpus for
seminar announcements. According to our results, the system’s enhanced version
reaches a high accuracy with respect to (LP)2 and other extractors, which means
that the information it extracted is of a better quality. |

A CONVOLUTIONAL NEURAL NETWORK APPROACH TO ROAD CLASSIFICATION FROM SATELLITE
IMAGES |
Author: |
JOSE HORMESE, CHANDRAN SARAVANAN |
Abstract: |
The significance of extracting roads from a satellite image of high resolution
can help in road navigation, update geographic information systems, emergency
rescue system that requires instantaneous maps. The difficulty lies in
identifying and differentiating a road from its background. To overcome this
difficulty more and more research is being conducted for devising efficient
methods that can extract a road from a satellite image. The large presence of
buildings and manmade structures along the roads or the presence of trees or the
acquisition properties of the sensor can cause difficulties in identifying a
road from a satellite image. The conventional way of identifying a road was
using semi-automated approaches which is not feasible as well as consumed large
amounts of time. A high accuracy technique for road extraction is needed. Also
when compared with extraction from aerial images the extraction from satellite
images is a challenging domain. The reason for that is satellite images have a
resolution that is low and the presence of noise contents in any given image is
quite high. This work deals with extracting a road network from high resolution
satellite images. This work deals with estimating if a pixel in a satellite
image is part of a road or not using Convolutional Neural Network. The advent of
Tensor flow library has made this work feasible. The work proposes a new
approach for making data sets for this complex problem and has concluded with a
feasible solution for the problem. |

Abstract: |
The article is dedicated to the development of an algorithm of autonomous speech
segmentation of the given text using dynamic programming method and creation of
base unit bases of a certain announcer. Base units are used to form speech-like
signals in systems of active speech information protection. The algorithm is
based on the use of text, spoken by one of the announcers, marked and divided
manually into structural units, which is the model for an automated speech
segmentation of other announcers for the same text. For the speech segmentation
of other announcers and formation of structural base units of their speech and
to be used with the method of dynamic programming according to the model as done
manually before that. The formation of speech-like signals is conducted using
compilation method of speech synthesis of the text, which is automatically
synthesized including linguistic, phonetic and prosodic features of the given
language. |

Abstract: |
Face recognition is a technology that has been widely applied for various
purposes. The example is face recognition for the creation of identity cards,
driving license or security system of a place that can recognize the face of
someone. In security system, surveillance using Closed Circuit Television
(CCTV) camera generally use infrared camera which can capture images even in
dark conditions. Generally, the image quality from CCTV camera is poor. This can
be caused by a poor image retrieval process, such as inadequate capture distance
and minimal lighting conditions so the result of image is still not optimal. One
solution that can be done to overcome the lack of image quality by using the
method of image enhancement. In this research, used two retinex method that
is Single Scale Retinex and Multi Scale Retinex with Principal Component
Analysis face recognition method. Testing performed compared face recognition
without retinex and face recognition with retinex (SSR and MSR). Testing with
the same light training data conditions has the most effective conditions when
the light is very dark. |

Abstract: |
Internet of Things (IoT) technology cannot be separated from the use of Cloud
computing in terms of access, and it has many advantages when compared with
traditional computing, such as: cost saving, reliability and scalability. IoT
can be applied in various fields such as smart city, smart transportation,
agriculture, weather monitoring and other fields. In this research, design and
development of Cloud computing based Internet of Things for weather monitoring
based on temperature, humidity and rainfall of surrounding environment
parameters as message, and using MQTT which is IoT/M2M connectivity protocol.
There are three main components of MQTT: the first component that generates the
message is called a publisher, the second that consumes messages is called a
subscriber, and the last component that handles the interaction between the
publisher and the subscriber is called a broker or intermediary. Usability
testing is also done from each component of the system using the black box
approach that can represent overall functionality. Based on the design model of
weather monitoring system, end-user can monitor weather conditions according to
the placement node device of location and through Web-based applications
installed on the cloud server. The amount of data message formatted into JSON is
± 120 bytes, and is published by node with time interval per ± 30 seconds. |

Abstract: |
The compressive strength of concrete is an important process in constructions
arrangement and proportioning new mixtures which demonstrates its level of
quality assurance. In this research, a concrete strength prediction model has
been developed based on Fuzzy approach. This model will estimate the compressive
strength of a concrete based on 1030 sample of ready-mix concrete based on its
design mix constituents, namely cement, blast furnace slag, fly ash, water,
superplasticizer, coarse aggregate, and age. Four different model are compared
with each other using statistical performance. The experimental results show
that Type-2 fuzzy model gives minimum errors for predicting compressive strength
of concrete. |

OPTIMIZATION PROBLEMS |

Abstract: |
Conjugate Gradient Method (CG) is one of the well-developed gradient based
method in solving optimization problems. It been widely used in solving large
scale optimization problems due to its low computational cost and high
efficiency in locating optimization solution. However, this method often fails
to obtain global optimum solution when solving multimodal nonconvex optimization
problems because once this method obtained a local optimum solution, it unable
to move to another valley to obtain a better optimum solution. In this paper,
ABCED Conjugate Gradient Method which consist of a series of enhanced conjugate
gradient methods have been introduced to solve multimodal nonconvex optimization
problems. The new developed methods have been tested with several benchmark
problems. The numerical results had proved the effectiveness of the ABCED
Conjugate Gradient Methods. The results showed the ABCED Conjugate Gradient with
Fletcher-Reeves formula able to globally solve 80.95% of the selected benchmark
test function. Then, ABCED Conjugate Gradient with Hestenes-Stiefel and Dai-Yuan
formula had globally solved 76.19% of selected benchmark test function. However,
ABCED Conjugate Gradient with Polak-Ribiere only able to solve one third of the
selected benchmark test function. |

Abstract: |
Learning model is one of the factors that influence the learning outcomes. An
educator is required to implement a variety of learning models in carrying out
learning activities. One of the contemporary learning models is Web Base
Learning (WBL). WBL models can be implemented without being limited by place,
time and space. This study aims to produce a web-based learning model that can
be used in accordance with certain environmental settings. This research uses
Research and Development approach of Plomp model. The results show that WBL
model can optimize the use of resources and potential owned by a college.
Application of this web-based learning model is able to make learning take place
anytime and anywhere without being limited by time and space. The WBL Model can
access unlimited sources of knowledge and information thereby increasing the
treasury of the material being studied. WBL Model is also able to improve the
effectiveness and efficiency because learning takes place without considering
the time of learning. WBL models are also able to instill and cultivate human
values or characters such as honesty, courtesy, mutual respect, respect for the
opinions of others, being able to accept, discipline, rewarding time in addition
to assisting students in improving cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. |

Abstract: |
Controlling software development process aids ensuring the quality of the
output, but this is dependent upon availability of means of measurement. A major
concern that makes software difficult to maintain or reuse is the complexity of
the internal design and the most common to Object-Oriented Design (OOD) are
cohesion and coupling. Traditional metrics could not scale in measuring cohesion
in object oriented systems. Existing static cohesion metrics (for OOD) using
variable-method and method-method interactions are satisfactory, but neglect
semantic aspects of the software. On the other hand, existing semantic and joint
static and semantic cohesion metrics fall short by relying on analysis of
identifiers and comments, which are unstructured data with known setbacks. This
study, therefore, developed a static and semantic functional cohesion metric
that employed data hiding and object behaviour as a representation of OOD domain
concept. |

QOS BASED PATH SELECTION FOR MODIFIED SMART OPTIMIZATION METHODS |
Author: |
RADHWAN JAWAD KADHIM, Dr MUAYAD SADIK CROOCK |
Abstract: |
The routing technology is a major challenge in determining the performance of
the Ad Hoc Wireless Sensor Network (AHWSN). In this paper, we propose a routing
methods to reinforce network performance and overcome network problems such as
path destroying within a specified time. The proposed method considers the all
possible paths between source node and destination node are discovered. Each
path has three metrics of Quality of Service (QoS): bit rate, packet loss rate
and delay to be considered in path selection methods instead of single metric.
Therefore, this problem is considered as an NP-complete problem. The proposed
methods aims to finding the robust path between source and destination node in
the face of conflicting design objectives. This is done by minimize packet loss
rate, maximize the bit rate and minimize delay using three methods in path
selection decision: Weighted Sum optimization method, Weighted Sum Based Genetic
Algorithm optimization method and the Non-dominated Sorting based Genetic
Algorithm-II (NSGA-II) with two types of Crossover. The obtained results of the
three methods are compared with Bellman-ford algorithm based Ad Hoc on Demand
Distance Vector (AODV) protocol and compared with NSGA-II priority based
encoding. Simulation results, performed in Matlab (2017a), prove that the
effectiveness of the proposed methods in terms of finding best path to solve
routing problem and QoS requirements in static and dynamic environment. There is
important decrease in packet loss rate, delay and increase in bit rate by the
proposed method under the varying sensor nodes. In addition, the proposed
methods save energy because they do not need to reroute again when route failure
occurs. |

EXAMINING THE EFFECT OF LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM QUALITY AND PERCEIVED
USEFULNESS ON STUDENTS SATISFACTION |
Author: |
FIRAS SALEEM HADDAD |
Abstract: |
The application of educational technology, especially learning management system
(LMS), has increased rapidly since the last few years. LMS has been developing
very rapidly and the arising issue now is on how to manage it in order that
online courses would be both successful and efficient. In this regard, the issue
of user satisfaction has been frequently highlighted in the literature. User
satisfaction has been found to significantly forecast the success or failure of
LMS implementation. Hence, this study will look into the success factors
impacting user satisfaction and LMS outcomes. Specifically, the conceptual
evaluation model used in measuring LMS success is detailed. This study
specifically seeks to explore the relationship between the proposed factors and
student satisfaction, while also measuring LMS outcomes. The attained results
evidence the positive impact of all proposed factors on student satisfaction.
Also, the results indicate that higher rate of user satisfaction increases the
benefits for the students. |

COMPREHENSIVE METHOD FOR DISCOVERING AND ASSESSING THE RICH-CLUB ORGANIZATION IN
MULTIHYPERGRAPHS |
Author: |
ARTEM POTEBNIA |
Abstract: |
The topological structure of the graph-based models constructed for a wide range
of the real-world complex systems is characterized by the clear presence of the
rich-club organization. Conceptually, such organization implies the tendency of
the most important (in accordance to the prescribed metric) vertices to be
tightly interconnected with each other and form the cohesive communities
referred to as the rich-clubs. Recently, the rich-club ordering has attracted a
considerable attention of investigators due to its impact on the robustness and
performance of the modeled system as well as the regime of its functioning. At
the same time, the prior studies in this direction are entirely limited to the
case of simple graphs. This, in turn, points to the existence of the fundamental
research gap associated with the need to develop the method for detecting the
rich-club organization in multihypergraphs (i.e. hypergraphs allowing the
presence of the parallel hyperedges). With a view to bridging the identified
gap, this work introduces the family of the original metrics providing the
formal way for determining whether the submultihypergraph induced by the most
important nodes of multihypergraph could be properly regarded as its rich-club.
The proposed metrics are designed to exhaustively capture the complex nature of
relationships established in the considered submultihypergraph and, accordingly,
take into account not only the number of its hyperedges but also their
cardinality and role in ensuring the connectivity of vertices. Furthermore, the
paper elaborates the scheme of normalizing the introduced metrics with respect
to the reference ensemble of random multihypergraphs possessing the same
sequences of vertex degrees and hyperedge cardinalities as the multihypergraph
under investigation. Such normalization allows discovering the intentionally
emerged rich-club ordering in multihypergraphs that does not follow merely from
the structural restrictions imposed by the local properties of vertices and
hyperedges. Finally, the paper illustrates the descriptive potential of the
developed method by constructing the multihypergraph-based representation of the
scientific co-authorship hypernetwork extracted from the IEEE Xplore database
and performing the rigorous experimental analysis of its rich-club organization. |

Abstract: |
The methods in determining land area measurement based on UTM coordinate are
very few. In this paper, we present the use of Google Maps and Universal
Transverse Mercator (UTM) to determine the measurement of land area in two or
four different zones of UTM coordinate based on the proposed method. We proposed
the rectangular method. The proposed method is then applied in determining of
regional area of regencies in Central Kalimantan such as Kapuas Regency and
Murung Raya Regency. If the method is applied to determine the measurement of
land area in Kalimantan Tengah, the mean of absolute percentage error (MAPE) is
14.45 %. |
