VIJAY GHANEKAR, DR. SHRADDHA PHANSALKAR |
Abstract: |
Data consistency is an integral part of CAP (consistency-availability-partition)
guarantees. Data consistency however is rationed to the permissible levels to
achieve higher availability, scalability and other performance guarantees. The
presented technique is a rationed consistency model applied to selected data
objects and is further extensible to selective transactions in NoSQL data store.
In this paper, we conceptualize, design and build working prototype of selective
data consistency model on MongoDB data store to apply higher levels of
consistency only on selected data objects in transactional application and show
the improvement in its performance. The paper also contributes by presenting a
design of a data criticality analyser for case study on ecommerce application. |

MIRRORED VEDIC VERTICALLY AND CROSSWISE MULTIPLICATION TECHNIQUE (MVVCMT): LONG
INTEGER MULTIPLICATION ALGORITHM |
Author: |
EVON M. O. ABU-TAIEH, PHD |
Abstract: |
The paper presents Mirrored Vedic Vertically and Crosswise Multiplication
Technique (MVVCMT) which is an algorithm based on Vedic Vertically and Crosswise
Multiplication Technique. Vedic Vertically and Crosswise Multiplication
Technique is an ancient Indian technique used to shorten the process of mental
multiplication especially for big numbers. In India, the multiplication
technique is still taught to kids to enhance their skills in mental
multiplication. The proposed algorithm in this research was inspired by this
ancient yet practical, easy to understand and apply multiplication technique.
Vedic Vertically and Crosswise Multiplication Technique was rediscovered in 1965
by Swami Bharati Krishna Tirthaji in his book Vedic Mathematics. The proposed
algorithm runs with only 100 multiplications rather than n2 based number of
multiplications. In this paper, the first section explains the Vedic Vertically
and Crosswise Multiplication Technique with and example and algorithm. Then the
paper presents a hands-on example to show the simplicity of the original
technique. Next, the paper presents the proposed algorithm name "Mirrored Vedic
Vertically and Crosswise Multiplication Technique" which is dubbed (MVVCMT). |

USERS ENGAGEMENT SUCCESS FACTORS IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT |
Author: |
GHASSAN A. O. ABUSAMHADANA, NUR FAZIDAH ELIAS |
Abstract: |
Business organisations need to implement information systems (IS) mainly for
keeping track of and managing its business activities, from planning to product
delivery. In the last four decades, the information systems recorded low rates
of success. Many IS projects, especially in the public sector, fail as a result
of poor user engagement in the information systems development process. Engaging
user in any information systems development process is claimed to contribute to
the success of IS projects. Some studies have indicated that two factors which
are user participation and user involvement can lead to successful user
engagement in the information systems development. However, there is still no
common understanding for measuring and validating the effect of these two
factors. This paper discusses the importance of these two factors as the
critical success factors for engaging users in the information systems
development. The importance of these two factors was determined through the
content review technique and mapping activity of eleven sub-factors identified
from the literature. A-priori model for user engagement success will be
presented at the end of this paper. |

IMPROVED SELF-ORGANIZING MAPS BASED ON DISTANCE TRAVELLED BY NEURONS |
Author: |
HICHAM OMARA, MOHAMED LAZAAR, YOUNESS TABII |
Abstract: |
The Self-Organizing Map (SOM) is a commonly algorithm used for visualizing and
classification of datasets, due to its ability to project high-dimensional data
in a lower dimension. However, certain topological constraints of the SOM are
fixed before the learning phase; the appropriate number of neurons has a major
influence on the classification accuracy. Many researchers have tried to deal
with this problem. This paper presents a novel approach to improve SOM based on
distance travelled by each neuron. This approach is testing on two different
databases of breast cancer. The model will classify the input vectors into two
classes of cancer type (benign and malignant); the result obtained shows
amelioration compared to classical SOM; up to 2% of improvement in
classification accuracy is observed. We can conclude that our approach seems an
efficient method in medical applications and especially for the cancer
classification. |

RESOURCE OPTIMIZED KERNEL SUPPORT VECTOR FOR SCALABLE AND RELIABLE MULTIPATH
MULTICAST ROUTING IN MANET |
Author: |
M.SASEEKALA, DR.P.KAMALAKANNAN |
Abstract: |
Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a wireless ad hoc network where the mobile
nodes are moved randomly. Due to the random movement of nodes, optimal resource
utilization plays a vital role in multipath multicast routing. Each node itself
acts as a router however it takes limited battery capacity, memory and
processing power, varying channel conditions, less stability, bandwidth and
scalability. Therefore, the lack of bandwidth and energy of the mobile nodes
makes it more difficult to find the optimal route path. In order to attain
optimal routing in MANET, Resource Optimized Kernel Support Vector (ROKSV)
technique is introduced. The ROKSV technique improves multipath multicast
routing by utilizing the optimal resources. Initially, the resources namely
energy and bandwidth of the node is measured to attain scalable routing. After
that, Optimized kernel support vector is applied to classify the node with
optimal resource utilization for routing. Then the multipath is discovered
between source and destination with the selected mobile nodes. The data packets
are transmitted through the discovered route path. Finally, route path
maintenance is carried out to achieve more reliability. The simulation is
carried out to analyze the performance of proposed ROKSV technique with the
parameters such as energy consumption, bandwidth, packet delivery ratio and
delay. |

Author: |
SU-YEON KIM, SANG HOON LEE |
Abstract: |
In this study, we designed an advertisement recommendation framework taking into
account the interests of users through utilizing their user profiles,
preferences and responses to contents and advertisements. This is to address the
issue on advertisement nuisance to users when using a content service that has
advertisements before or during a content viewing. This kind of marketing
strategy of content providers aims to generate more revenues, however, on the
user’s side, it does not give any convenience which turned out to be a customer
unfriendly attribute. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to extract user’s
preference and behavior information and place it in the middle of content
viewing to minimize the user’s negative approach towards advertisement serving
its purpose and maximizing its effectiveness. |

Author: |
YONGTAE KIM, JAE-GON KIM, HAECHUL CHOI |
Abstract: |
Multiple reference pictures and variable prediction block sizes in motion
estimation/compensation (ME/MC) adopted in video coding standards such as
H.264/AVC and H.265/HEVC achieve high coding efficiency, but these tools require
heavy encoding complexity. This paper introduces a reference picture selection
method based on the spatial correlation between neighboring coded blocks and the
temporal correlation between the reference pictures of a reference picture list.
This method can reduce the number of reference picture to be searched in ME
process. This reduction provides competitive performance with reduced
computational complexity. Experimental results show that the proposed method
reduces encoding run-time by 47%, with a negligible degradation of coding
efficiency. |

Abstract: |
Background/Objectives: The personalized music recommendation services can
support the user-favorite contents among various multimedia contents. In order
to predict user-favorite songs, it is necessary to manage user preferences
information and genre classification. Methods/Statistical analysis: We
introduce the mechanism about the automatic management of the user preferences
in the personalized music recommendation service. This system automatically
extracts the user preference data from the user’s brain waves and audio features
from music. Findings: In our study, a very short feature vector, obtained
from low dimensional projection and already developed audio features, is used
for music genre classification problem. We applied a distance metric learning
algorithm in order to reduce the dimensionality of feature vector with a little
performance degradation. Proposed user’s preference classifier achieved an
overall accuracy of 81.07% in the binary preference classification for the KETI
AFA2000 music corpus. Improvements/Applications: we could recognize the
user’s satisfaction when we use brainwaves. This system can be applied to
various audio devices, apps and services. |

A NEW IMAGE CODE RECOGNIZABLE AT A DISTANCE |
Author: |

Abstract: |
The IoT(Internet of Things) technology basically requires identifying things
that emit their identities The RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) and Beacon
technology are widely used as well as Image Code such as Bar-code and the QR
code. The QR code has strenth in terms of cost since it can be cheaply printed.
However, the QR code can only be used to recognize very close things. In this
paper, we propose a new sign board that having a recognizable image code at a
distance. An additional design issue is to provide a room for human recognizable
contents. Our solution is to place code blocks on the boundary region of a
rectangle shaped sign board. To dispose the code blocks on the boundary, we
propose a line-shaped code. Then, we have tailored the design of the code by
considering recognition performance. As a result of these consideration, we
finally designed easy-recognizable 4-bit code blocks, 16 blocks. By adding the
corner block to the designed code blocks, we created an 8-byte prototype for the
boundary code. We also privide the method to detect the boundary code in a given
input image. In our experimental results, the proposed sign board achieves 100%
identification performance for given input images where the size of the sign
board is 1/12 of the size of the image and the shooting angle is 60 degrees or
less. |

E-COMMERCE STRATEGY USING BY SUNK COST AND MARKET ENTRY STRATEGY ON BRAND
EXTENSION IN THE ERA OF COMSUMPTION POLARIZATION |
Author: |
JUNSIK KWAK |
Abstract: |
The size of E-commerce and M-commerce is increasing day by day in the era of
consumption polarization. As online commerce evolves, consumers have the
opportunity to conveniently compare, analyze and shop more products. As
competition intensifies, the likelihood of success for new products is
decreasing, and companies are forced to consider brand extension strategies that
leverage existing brands' reputations. Companies are using a "line extension"
strategy to name existing brand name for new products in the same category, or a
"category extension" strategy to name existing brand name (hereinafter “parent
brand”) for new products in other categories. In the case of new products
launched in other product category, similarity with parent brand is very
important. On the other hand, when making decisions, people are influenced by
the time and effort invested in the past, not the future benefits and costs.
Sunk cost effect is the great tendency to continue past decisions regardless of
changes in circumstances due to the time, effort, and money invested in the
past. In this study, we examined whether the consumer’s evaluation of the
extended product in online depends on sunk cost, similarity, and market entry
strategy when the category extension is performed. As a result, the three way
interaction effect of sunk cost, similarity and market entry strategy was
significant in the purchase intention. Specifically, in the case of low
similarity, the probability of purchasing the extended brand was high only in
the condition of the sunk cost and acquisition of the related company. On the
other hand, when the similarity is high, the probability of purchasing the
extended brand was high only in the condition of the sunk cost and internal R&D.
In the case of low similarity for new product success probability, it is found
that there is the highest purchase intention with sunk cost and acquisition of
the related company. However, in case of high similarity, there is no
significant difference in success probability with conditions. This result
suggests practical implications that it is effective to use different
communication strategy depending on similarity, sunk cost, market entry strategy
when launching extended brand. |

Abstract: |
Modern society is undergoing various changes in all industries. Especially, the
requirements, scale, and interfaces to carry out SW projects are complex and
large, due to development of IT technology. So project management is becoming
more important. This requires new structured form of project management system
to manage the project. Many SW development companies have difficulties in
management since they are dispersed. In this situation, the cloud system is
emerging as an alternative. Also, project management is not properly managed
because they apply New-ICT to traditional management process. The thesis
proposes integrated management system of easy access to anyone that integrates
the tasks of various projects by implementing the necessary management models
and system to manage New-ICT services in Cloud Computing environment. It is
expected that project management will improve management efficiency when it
applying to New-ICT service projects because this system is managed information

A STUDY ON ADVANCED RAM ALERT GENERATION ALGORITHM USING AIRCRAFT NAVIGATIONAL
INFORMATION |
Author: |
Seoung-Hyeon Lee |
Abstract: |
The next-generation air traffic control system has advanced in a way that
directs safely as many aircraft as possible in the limited airspace to meet
rapidly increasing demands for air traffic. PBN is a navigation method recently
released by ICAO to combine RNAV and RNP. As airspace capacity increased owing
to the relaxation of the aircraft separation standards and the shortest routes
between fixed points (or waypoints) that aircraft pass through were connected,
the general flight distance and time have been reduced. PBN requires accuracy in
the measurement of aircraft positions and flight route calculation for effective
air traffic control. ADS-B sensor is a core component of PBN. ADS-B sensor data
generated based on the GPS, the accurate information on the aircraft include a
like position, altitude and direction, the generated data and transmits to the
ground. In the existing air traffic control system, the position of the
aircraft, which is measured by PSR has a lot of errors. Therefore, it has
allowed a significant error rate in distance measurement and RAM centered on the
aircraft to use the position of the aircraft. Fusion track data to be used in
the next-generation air traffic control system utilizes the track data that
combines PSR track and ADS-B sensor data, it can calculate the accurate position
of the aircraft. In this paper, I proposed the accurate aircraft the distance
measuring method and applying the measured result in the RAM using the fusion
data track. First, for accurate position measurement and monitoring of aircraft
on an allocated route, a virtual aircraft position on a route is mapped in
reference to rectangular coordinates with straight lines and aircraft position.
Second, the distance between two points is calculated by means of a Vincenty
formula algorithm, and the calculation result is utilized for aircraft
conformance monitoring. When the method proposed in this paper is applied, it is
possible to reduce the separation gap of an aircraft for more accurate aircraft
position measurement, and a safe navigation of aircraft as much as possible in
the limited airspace is guaranteed. Also proposed a method for secure
transmitting aircraft safety information to a controller or an external system
using a physical unidirectional transmission method. |

EMOTIONAL LIGHTING SYSTEM ABLE TO EMOTION REASONING USING FUZZY INFERENCE |
Author: |
BO-RAM KIM, DONG KEUN KIM |
Abstract: |
Recently, the development of emotional lighting technology has been attracting
attention for its potential uses in various fields. This reflects the increasing
awareness of and interest in the psychological and emotional states of people,
and aligns with the increase in demanding for emotional-friendly products. In
previous works focusing on emotional lighting, emotions were inferred by
measuring the biometric signals of subjects using separate devices or genetic
algorithms. However, these methods are unsuitable for mobile devices because of
the complexity of both the measurement process and the inference of emotion. To
solve this problem, a smart emotional lighting control system which infers
emotions through fuzzy reasoning using heart rate and RR interval is proposed
below. Experimental results yielded an average 90.67% accuracy in performance
estimation for this fuzzy reasoning system. These results indicate that the
proposed method has the potential to provide appropriate lighting through
reasoning drawing directly from users’ emotions, and is expected to be of future
use in various fields. |

HWA-SEON KIM, KYEONG-OUK JEONG |
Abstract: |
In the recent trends, writing education has been transformed from
teacher-centered to learner-centered education, and has shifted from
theory-oriented writing education to writing education as the problem-solving
strategy. Under the paradigm shift in writing education, it has become essential
to integrate new technology that can help students actively engage in the
writing process or help them realize writing as collaborative learning
experience. Among diverse innovative instructional procedures, crowdsourcing can
be integrated into writing education, which strives to develop students’ ability
for problem-solving and critical thinking through the use of collaborative
learning and collective intelligence. This paper tries to incorporate new
technological strategies into writing education at two levels. The first level
is to design classroom writing activities for online collaborative learning
through the use of the online authoring tool. The second level is to develop
classroom activities for the students to engage in producing their own writing
textbook materials with the utilization of crowdsourcing as collective
intelligence into the writing course. In this study, a prototypical
instructional model is proposed for the classroom implementation of
crowdsourcing into writing education. This study also scrutinizes the responses
and attitudes of the participants about their learning experiences of engaging
in the writing tasks via crowdsourcing as collective intelligence and Google
document as an interactive course platform. |

system by teachers and students, and then compared them with those of existing
cyber learning systems. Next, we developed a responsive web-based smart learning
system based on our theoretical background and users’ requirements. Then we
analyzed our experimental results after applying the cyber learning environment
to the 5th and the 6th grade elementary informatics gifted students. We
performed our experiment to both a traditional class of the control group by
using an existing cyber learning system and a new class of the experimental
group by using our smart learning system, and then the paired samples t-tests
were carried out. As a result, the mean score of the experimental group is
significantly higher on the area of interest in information science and
affirmation. According to the result, it has been proved that our smart learning
system is effective in improving interest in information science and affirmation
for the elementary informatics gifted students. |

IOT MULTITASKING: DEVELOPMENT OF HYBRID EXECUTION SERVICE ORIENTED ARCHITECTURE
(HESOA) TO REDUCE RESPONSE TIME FOR IOT APPLICATION |
Author: |

Abstract: |
IoT solutions are formulated and accomplished to cope with distinct challenges
influenced by domain-specific necessities, thus not considering issues of
visibility, scalability, interoperability along with use-case independence.
Consequently, they can be less principled, the vendor focused and barely
replicable as any generalized design available. The conventional SOA model
address the architecture design issue, as core issue with conventional SOA is,
it does not look into whether existing application platforms can provide the
solutions to help with the implementation of IoT as a generalized approach for
numerous tasks. To upgrade the framework of existing IoT options, present
research developed new hybrid execution service oriented architecture model as a
“middleware” which identifies new principles for developing IoT architectures
and supporting the interoperation of IoT solutions. In this particular work, we
seek to fill this gap and additionally we suggest an architectural strategy in
line with SOA that targets the reasoning behind to come up with the development
of new Internet of Things ibroker, and every sensing gadget is believed being a
service using a single interface as an option to traditional single-use case
designs. By this new framework, we accomplished modularization, powerful
resource reuse, a boost in efficiency, loosely recourse coupling. In summary,
this paper focuses on multi-tasking of systematic execution of request and
response with development of architecture called “Hybrid Execution Service
Oriented Architecture” (HESOA). |

YOUSRA ABDUL ALSAHIB S.ALDEEN |
Abstract: |
Cloud computing (CC) being an attractive and significant information technology
(IT) revolution would certainly bring several innovative benefits and services
to humankind. Thus, cloud is emerged as a principal buzz and continues to reform
the IT industry. The very notion of cloud made it feasible to isolate huge
infrastructure mediation and provided the customer services via redefined
software and hardware business models. This helped the end users to purchase
commodities at minimal along with taking the complete advantages of essential
services. However, absolute privacy protection and preservation in cloud
assisted data mining is prerequisite. This paper highlights the main challenges
in CC and the future application prospects of the existing IT systems to the
cloud. |

CONVERTING OF AN XML SCHEMA TO AN OWL ONTOLOGY USING A CANONICAL DATA MODEL |
Author: |
ADIL JOUNAIDI, MOHAMED BAHAJ |
Abstract: |
The eXtensible Markup Language (XML) has known since its beginnings an
undeniable success. Defined since its origins as a meta-language facilitating
the development of specialized tags Languages, nowadays, many documents benefit
from the XML frame. But even if this language is strongly used in the web as a
way of data exchange between applications, it still lacks the capacity of
defining the web resources and the system that uses them, and also the capacity
of expressing the knowledge provided by XML documents. It’s these lacks that
proposes the Web Ontology Language (OWL) proposes to fill. In fact, OWL is a
language for ontologies representation in the context of Semantic Web (SW). It’s
in this context that we’re obliged to come up with a solution that allows
migration to the SW in order to follow the WEB evolution. Among the suggested
solutions, our approach is based on the Canonical Data Model (CDM) through the
implementation of a set of rules allowing the transformation of an XML schema’s
definition (XSD) to an OWL ontology. This mapping will transform not only the
nodes of an XML file, but also the relationships between these nodes in order to
maintain the same structure. |
