Abstract |
Laparoscopy technique has caused a high
impact in the surgical community. The success of this technology is the
application of the surgical conventional practices to access in the abdominal
cavity, with diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, with a minimum surgical
intervention. This procedure has been used for biliary lithiasis, now it is an
advanced procedure in several pathologies interventions; the reason is because
surgical set of instruments has been improving. The base of laparoscopy
procedure is the video surgery, which for nature needs the training of the
surgeon and the knowledge of the set of instruments, as well as his advantages
and his limitations.
The correct use of this technology prevents surgical problems and the correct
knowledge of the instruments in every particular condition, avoids human
operation mistakes. Additionally to all inherent problems in the use of the
technology, an additional variable exists; the position of the image is
displayed in a monitor, in a different position from the area of operation. This
implies an additional training of the surgeon so that the surgical act has
fluency and continuity.
The image is taken by an endocamera and projected in a monitor. The first
barrier that the surgeon must overcome is the difference between the position of
the image and the place of navigation of the instruments. If there is the
possibility of projecting the image on the human body with the same
characteristics of an open surgery, we can have closer this methodology over to
the traditional surgeries, achieving the advantages of the video surgery over a
virtual traditional surgery. With this new technological modification, the
surgeon does not use the image of monitor and in his place he sees, in his
visual field, the internal image of the abdomen like an open traditional
surgery.
The training would centre on the use of the laparoscopy instruments and the
surgeon will feel the sensation of being in a traditional operation, with
consistent progress in his surgical skill. In order to obtain this objective, we
can propose the use of the augmented reality technique, which allows having the
human real body in the field of vision and the superposition of the internal
image of the abdomen [4]. |

Abstract |
Casualties due to traffic accidents are
increasing day by day. Think of this message being displayed on your computer
screen while you were driving “there’s a possibility of collision with a car in
the next few minutes if you go on driving with this speed and direction”. Our
research is intended towards developing collision avoidance architecture for the
latest Intelligent Transport System. The exchange of safety messages among
vehicles and with infrastructure devices poses major challenges. Specially,
safety messages have to be adaptively distributed within a certain range of a
basically unbounded system. These messages are to be well coordinated and
processed via different algorithms between two different cars which is embedded
radar or without radar. With this motivation the author sets the objectives like
achieving a data rate of 100 Mbps for full vehicular mobility, sensing of nearby
vehicles using digital radar, integrating both communication and radar to have
one wireless embedded system for providing concurrent vehicular communication
and safety. To achieve 100 Mbps data rate, different communication technologies
at the transmitter as well as at the receiver sections are tried and compared
according to CALM (Continuous Air interface for Long and Medium distance )
standard framed by ITU. Finally, MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) based
noble signal scheme “Hybrid BLAST STBC” at the transmitter and ML (Maximum
Likehood) detector approach has evolved fulfilling the objective. This scheme
combines MIMO and STBC (Space Time Block Code) to generate a system functionally
superior to MIMO and STBC systems. For radar based sensing, MIMO radar is found
to be more effective on road condition. Finally, authors would like to provide
an implication of realistic E-vehicle for next generation transportation system.
The above performances of our proposed system are compared with the conventional
scheme by software simulations which validate the analytical results. |

Abstract |
In estimate, around six billion
fluorescent lamps are discarded every year. In human life, suddenly fused
fluorescent lamp creates a lot of problem. Then authors think how fused
fluorescent lamp can be re-utilized and this mentioned problem can be overcome.
Therefore authors motivated a simple method to design a prototype model in the
laboratory. This paper presents a new concept to analyze the process of lighting
with fused fluorescent lamp using bridge rectifier circuit. And what are the
role of choke & starter in this mechanism of circuit model. Experimentally,
characteristics of fused fluorescent lamp are also analyzed throughout this

Abstract |
This paper presents an overview of recent
progress of radar for the image detection and characterization of targets. MIMO
radar can improve on conventional target detection, parameter identification,
and target classification performance via diversity of, among other things, its
simultaneously transmitted waveforms. However, the mutual interference among the
waveforms may lead to considerable performance degradation in suppressing
clutter near targets. The performance of the conventional radar for moving
target detection have been evaluated analytically mainly focusing on the
Swerling model II, IV and V and their integration loss during the signal
processing related with the threshold voltage level of matched filter . Finally
this paper extended toward MIMO radar detection performance for moving target
under the condition of unknown parameters or other fluctuating model. |

Abstract |
Matrix converters as induction motor
drivers have received considerable attention in recent years because of its good
alternative to voltage source inverter pulse width modulation (VSI-PWM)
converters. This paper presents the work carried out in developing a
mathematical model for a space vector modulated (SVM) direct controlled matrix
converter. The mathematical expressions relating the input and output of the
three phase matrix converter are implemented by using MATLAB/SIMULINK. The duty
cycles of the switches are modeled using space vector modulation for 0.5 and
0.866 voltage transfer ratios. Simulations of the matrix converter loaded by
passive RL load and active induction motor are performed. A unique feature of
the proposed model is that it requires very less computation time and less
memory compared to the power circuit realized by using actual switches. In
addition, it offers better spectral performances, full control of the input
power factor, fully utilization of input voltages, improve modulation
performance and output voltage close to sinusoidal |

NEW INCREMENTAL GENETIC ALGORITHM BASED CLASSIFICATION MODEL TO MINE DATA WITH
CONCEPT DRIFT |

Abstract |
In a database the data concepts changes
over time and this is called concept drift. Genetic algorithm is widely used for
mining classification rules. If the data set is of three or four years old, the
mined rules may not reflect the current concept due to concept drift. Applying
the incremental genetic (IGA) algorithm in a batch mode can mine accurate rules
reflecting the current concept. But applying genetic algorithm without
monitoring for a change in an incremental manner repeatedly on arriving data
will result in an unnecessary increase in the learning cost. There is also
another problem, Due to change in the data distribution some of the rules which
are generated may be lost when we apply genetic algorithm in an incremental
fashion. In this paper a new incremental genetic algorithm is proposed to
rectify the above problems. The New IGA applies the Genetic algorithm iteration
step only when required, so that learning cost may be reduced. The new method
also keeps track of the rules which are generated earlier and which would have
been lost due to change in data distribution. In the proposed method each record
of the incoming dataset is monitored. If they are correctly classified they are
dropped and misclassified records are added to a window. When the window is
full, the genetic algorithm is applied to the records in the window and new
rules are generated based only on the misclassified examples and on the examples
of new classes. The invalid rules are replaced with the newly generated valid
rules. The new method ensures that the next iteration of genetic algorithm is
called only when there is a concept drift or when there is a change in the data
distribution and sufficient number of records is available. This will reduce the
learning cost particularly when there is no concept drift or when there is a
slow drift and also ensures that no rule is lost due to change in data
distribution. |

Abstract |
Bangladesh is a developing country. In
developing countries, there is a digital divide between rural and urban areas.
We need to provide locally relevant ICT services to overcome these divisions.
Traditional software development methods are not suitable for developing the
software of rural areas because they cannot serve the unique needs and
complexities of such areas. I have tried to find the most appropriate way to
engineer suitable software applications for rural communities of Bangladesh. I
have developed a methodological framework for creating software applications for
rural community. Socially structured computing framework to create software
applications using the principle of action research and participative Design
Guide as the best practices that helped me address all the problems that affect
the success of the application. On the validity of the framework, I show that by
using it to create Telemedicine Communicator (TC). TC is a prototype system for
remote consultations in health for rural communities. It allows for
communication between a small hospital in a village and a bigger hospital in
neighboring village. It uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) combined with a
store and forward approach to communications. TC can be tested over a Wireless
Fidelity (wireless) network as well. Within social consciousness, it is suitable
for the local development of relevant applications for rural areas of
Bangladesh. I found that TC is an improvement of the solution of telemedicine in
the community of destiny. Using this approach also led to a lot of knowledge
about best practices for ICT development projects. I am also proposing that VoIP
and Wi-Fi technology is relevant to rural areas and that the liberalization of
telecommunications in Bangladesh is still needed to promote technological
development in rural and under serviced areas. |

Abstract |
The paper will explore the key benefits
and challenges in advancing e-Government for democratic participation and social
inclusion, particularly from a Middle Eastern regional perspective (i.e.,
Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan). The use of online Internet services for applying
e-democracy is studied with many clarifying comments and obstacles. The authors
suggest that the implementation of e-Democracy requires an environment of
confidence that must be created. In addition, a transition period of “real
democracy” must be implemented first for some time. Some of the problems with
implementing of e-Democracy in the Middle East are presented. In addition, many
observations and examples are given to verify the notes of the authors. |

Abstract |
This paper presents an investigation of
Hybrid Seven-Level (HSL) H – bridge Inverter is used in a Distribution Static
Compensator (DSTATCOM) in Power System (PS), making use of HSLI benefits of low
harmonics distortion, reduced number of switches to achieve the seven- level
inverter output over the conventional cascaded seven level inverter and reduced
switching losses. In order to improve the power factor, compensate the reactive
power and suppress the total harmonics distortion (THD) drawn from a Non-Liner
Diode Rectifier Load (NLDRL) of DSTATCOM, we propose a Sub-Harmonics Pulse Width
Modulation (SHPWM) technique is used as control for the switches of HSL H –
bridge Inverter. The D-Q reference frame theory is used to generate the
reference compensating currents for DSTATCOM and proportional and integral (PI)
control is used for capacitors dc voltage regulation for DSTATCOM. A HSL H –
bridge Inverter is considered for shunt compensation of a 4.5 kV distribution
system. The results are validated through MatLab/Simulink simulation software |
