Abstract |
This paper presents Differential Evolution
(DE) algorithm combined with chaotic sequences for design optimization of
Switched Reluctance Machine (SRM). Two differential evolution approaches based
on chaotic sequences using logistic equation are proposed in this work. Stator
and rotor pole arc of SRM considered as design variables with the objective of
maximizing torque density, maximizing inductance ratio and minimizing copper
loss. The feasibility of the proposed method is demonstrated for an 8/6,
four-phase, 5 HP, 1500 rpm SRM and compared with classical differential
evolution and Genetic Algorithm (GA) method. The results show that the proposed
method is effective and robust. |

Abstract |
For synchronous 3-phase electrical generator
machine design, the ability to predict the synchronous reactance of a particular
machine design is of prime importance. The synchronous reactance has a
significant impact on the magnitude of the fault currents generated within the
machine during an event such as a 3 phase short-circuit. Power system designers
routinely use the generator synchronous reactance as a key parameter to aid in
the design of the complete power generation system. For new generator designs
the synchronous reactance is routinely tested for as part of a thorough
evaluation of the generator performance characteristics. In the paper, the
author is presenting comparatively the application of: numerical method based on
the FEA of magnetic field distribution, computed by using FEM; analytical
traditional method. |

Abstract |
Data uncertainty is common in real-world
applications due to various causes, including imprecise measurement, network
latency, out-dated sources and sampling errors. These kinds of uncertainty have
to be handled cautiously, or else the mining results could be unreliable or even
wrong. We propose that when data mining is performed on uncertain data, data
uncertainty has to be considered in order to obtain high quality data mining
results. We present a Probabilistic Neural Network model which is suitable for
classification problems. This model constitutes an adaptation of the classical
RBF network where the outputs represent the class conditional distributions.
Since the network outputs correspond to probability densities functions,
training process is treated as maximum likelihood problem and an
Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm is proposed for adjusting the network
parameters. Experimental results show that proposed model exhibits superior
classification performance on uncertain data. |

Abstract |
Performance of web query processing becomes
slow caused by increasing number of data. In this paper, intelligent algorithm
was created to fix this problem. Four main components involved in this
intelligent algorithm are assigning initial query, exploit query, assign to any
possible query and query matching. Firstly, web user is needed to enter a
keyword then this keyword automatically will assign as an initial query. After
that, this initial query must be exploited before assigning process to any
possible queries. These possible queries will match to existing query form
temporary file that contains data schema and map to only select data sources. In
this methodology, XML will use for mapping to heterogeneous databases. XML is
really effective for mapping to heterogeneous databases. This methodology has
been implemented in a prototype and applied to web queries. Another issue in
with web query is difficult to search for information that best reflects the
user’s need information. According this problem, intelligent algorithm was
created and tested by developing simple application based on system
architecture. This intelligent algorithm that was good for fixed problems by
improving web query processing for heterogeneous databases. The intelligent
algorithm was implemented and tested for heterogeneous database environment. |

Abstract |
This paper present the modelling and
simulation of three phase PWM Current Source Inverter fed Induction Motor
(CSI-IM) drive systems using state space representation and its implementation
by means of Matlab/Simulink simulation software. Combining these powerful models
with some matlab functions it is possible to obtain the ideal simulation
platform for these systems. The main features of this type of simulation program
are simplicity, accuracy and efficiency in terms of computation time. This
simulation program can be used to verify the system design, to study system
dynamic behavior and to investigate steady state waveforms of the drive system.
In order to simplify the simulation process, different algorithms are developed
for the simulation of different sections in the drive system. The feasibility,
high reliability of the system and the validity of the control method are proved
by the simulation results. |

Abstract |
Scientists have explored that WiMAX has the
potential to enhance the performance of the radar networks. With the idea of
implementing MIMO (multi-input multi-output) communication technology for
overcoming the challenges offered by hostile channel and environmental effects.
It leads the technocrats to utilize this technology in radar operations. WiMAX
MIMO can exploit the range of WiMAX and the spatial diversity of MIMO radar. A
WiMAX based MIMO radar system is introduced in this paper. In conventional
radar, the target’s radar cross section (RCS) measurement at very low SNR level
is very difficult and degrades the overall radar performance under mobile
condition. This paper focuses on WiMAX-based passive radar design based on a
MIMO-OFDM testbed for getting information about the nearby target vehicle. It
also explores potential of MIMO radar regarding the probability of target
detection in low signal to clutter ratio (SCR) level. |
