Abstract |
In this paper we present a novel approach
to automatically re-structuring HTML documents by extracting semantic structures
from their header and body, The body of a web page is generally software
generated via template and it’s layout has a physical schema. Our approach is to
extract trees that are based on hierarchical relations in HTML documents, for
this task we used two algorithms, first is Header extraction Algorithm which
extracts header trees from head of HTML document and second is an algorithm for
automatically partitioning HTML documents into tree like semantic structures
from body part of web pages. Then we use an application called layout changer
which changes a layout of one web page to another by aligning extracted header
trees and partition trees. |

Abstract |
A Neural network is a machine that is
designed to model the way in which the brain performs a particular task or
function of interest: The network is usually implemented by using electronic
components or is simulated in software on a digital computer. “ A neural network
is a massively parallel distributed processor made up of simple processing units
which has a natural propensity for storing experiential knowledge and making it
available for use. It resembles the brain in two respects:
1)Knowledge is required by the network from its environment through a learning
process.
2)Interneuron connection strengths, known as synaptic weights, are used to store
the acquired knowledge”.
In this paper, we proposed a system capable of recognizing handwritten
characters or symbols, inputted by the means of a mouse. The system provides
means for training the input characters first, then there is a classification
option where the patterns or symbols that have already been trained should be
fed, in order to recognize it. There are full options for the users, like (1) To
load a default set of patterns which can either be trained or the default
training file can be loaded. After which the recognition takes place. (2) To
classify a line of text and (3) Options to either load a pattern file, trained
or untrained & finally the option to create new patterns by the user to train &
classify. |

Abstract |
The paper describes a practical way of
design and realization one simple real time software, better say: executive
system. It is applied on an own programmable logic controller - microprocessor
measuring station (MMS). In hardware point of view it is a modular unit based on
M68HC11 microcontroller. All its functions are driven and controlled by a
special real time working program, modular structure. Many program entities are
running sequentially. The tasks are the main program elements. Because of many
requirements and shortage of resources it was necessary to introduce a priority
ordering in task execution. The article explains some principles of software
organization and task management. The results achieved in real environment are
also included. |

Abstract |
The group mutual exclusion (GME) problem is an interesting
generalization of the mutual exclusion problem. Several solutions of the GME
problem have been proposed for message passing distributed systems. In this
paper we present a new Distributed Group Mutual Exclusion (DGME) based on
Clients/Servers model, and uses a dynamic data structure. Several processes
(Clients) can access simultaneously to a same opened session (Server). The
algorithm ensures that, at any time, at most one session is opened, and any
requested session will be opened in a finite time. The number of messages is
between 0 and m, where m is the number of session in the network. In the average
case, O(Log(m)) messages are necessary to open a session. The maximum
concurrency is n, where n is the number of processes in the network. |

Abstract |
This paper presents a monitoring and
Quality Control (QC) tests carried out in the Nigeria National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC) Diagnostic centres in Kaduna, North Western Nigeria. The
results of these investigations revealed that both radiation protection and
Medical/Health Physicist were visibly missing. Monitoring of the facilities
showed that in X-ray suites (room1 and room2), the dose rate found near the
cubicle and changing room were in the range of factors of 2.0 - 6.7 and 3.3 -
16.7 higher than the background dose rate respectively. However, in the plant
clinic, there were radiation leakages. The quality control test of the rooms
showed reproducibility of kilovolt peak (kVp) in room1, while QC tests in room2
were acceptable (fall within the range of the required standard). It was
recommended that the plant clinic be shut down because of radiation leakages
found there. |

Vol 5. No3. -- 2009 |
Abstract |
P2P Information Retrieval Framework is a modification of the
pastry framework for distributed search application. This framework consists of
a peer to peer network of nodes, which voluntarily agree to share their
resources by joining the network. While joining the network these nodes
construct the active peer list. The files are distributed over the peer to peer
network based on the keywords. The searching request could be initialized in
anyone of the peers in the peer to peer network. The search request consists of
keywords from which unwanted words are removed. This search request is
propagated in an incremental fashion across the nodes with the aim of finding
the best node in the incremental fashion. The results obtained from each keyword
are aggregated and the final result is listed in the node which initiated the
search procedure. |

A new approach for the resolution of the problems of optimization for mobile

Abstract |
The important success of the mobile
systems of telecommunication motivates the suppliers of service to be reflected
about enormous means of investments for infrastructures of network. The
conception of big cellular networks is a complex problem, which turns around a
big impact: the quality of the service and the cost of the network. With the
continuous and fast growth of the traffic of communication, the large-scale
planning becomes more and more difficult. This need is now more pointed with the
evolution of phone networks (GSM), because of the biggest complexity of the
system and the number of parameters which must be considered. In this subject,
the solutions of the problems of dynamic optimization, Multicriteria associating
the financial criteria (cost of the network), the technical criteria (insurance,
availability) are developed in a context and the criteria of sale (quality of
service). The interest of metaheuristiques (methods of optimization) is based on
their capacity to find the effective solutions in a reasonable time. But with
objective multi-problems, the efficiency of metaheuristiques can be compromised.
Consequently, in this context it is necessary to integrate these methods into
more general arrangements to develop more effective methods. For such reasons we
are going to present an approach based on the multi-systems agents and the
spatial ontologies, to conceive methods adaptive automobile which can react to
the shape of the problem. |

Abstract |
Power system stabilizers (PSSs) are added to excitation system to
enhance the damping during low frequency oscillations. This paper presents a
study of fuzzy logic power system stabilizer (PSS) for stability enhancement of
a single machine power system. In order to accomplish the stability enhancement,
speed deviation (Δω) and acceleration (Δ) of the rotor of synchronous generator
of Kota Thermal were taken as the input to the fuzzy logic controller. These
variables take significant effects on damping on damping of the generator shaft
mechanical oscillations. The stabilizing signals were computed using the fuzzy
membership functions depending on these variables. The performance of the fuzzy
PSS is compared with the conventional power system stabilizer (CPSS). The
simulations were tested under different operating conditions and change in
reference voltage also tested with different membership functions. The
simulation results are quite encouraging and satisfactory |

Abstract |
In this paper, we deal with the attitude
control of a satellite equipped with wheels of reaction, using the static output
feedback. In the first part, we set the control and its integral in the
state-feedback form. Then, by using the algorithm of Kucera, we establish the
necessary and sufficient conditions so that the nonlinear system which models
the satellite will be stabilizable by the Static Output Feedback. Thereafter, we
present the robust stabilization of the attitude control; this robustness is
influenced by the parametric uncertainly of the model and by the input noise in
the system. The main results of this paper show that the sufficient conditions
for the existence of the robust static output feedback control can stabilize the
studied system. The controller proposed here is based upon a generalization of
Gronwall’s lemma. |

Abstract |
A criticism of Evolutionary Algorithms
might be the lack of efficient and robust generic methods to handle constraints.
The most widespread approach for constrained search problems is to use penalty
methods, because of their simplicity and ease of implementation. The penalty
function approach is generic and applicable to any type of constraint (linear or
nonlinear). Nonetheless, the most difficult aspect of the penalty function
approach is to find an appropriate penalty parameters needed to guide the search
towards the constrained optimum. In this paper, GA’s population-based approach
and Ranks are exploited to devise a penalty function approach that does not
require any penalty parameter called Adaptive GA-RRWS. Adaptive penalty
parameters assignments among feasible and infeasible solutions are made with a
view to provide a search direction towards the feasible region. Rank-based
Roulette Wheel selection operator (RRWS) is used. The new adaptive penalty and
rank-based roulette wheel selection operator allow GA’s to continuously find
better feasible solutions, gradually leading the search near the true optimum
solution. GAs with this constraint handling approach have been tested on
thirteen problems commonly used in the literature. In all cases, the proposed
approach has been able to repeatedly find solutions closer to the true optimum
solution than that reported earlier. |

Abstract |
Real time audio and video streams and
require absolute end to end guarantee for QoS. The key attribute these
applications for guarantying for QoS is, they need routing path for connectivity
like virtual leased line that is very difficult in the scenario of mobile ad hoc
networks due to the mobility of nodes and changing topology conditions. With
respect to transfer the contents, resources are required to be reserved along
the selected path(s).Regardless of old load balancing and redundant path schemes
in this paper we have introduced entirely a new approach in which we find
multiple paths and select best three from all those as primary, secondary and
ternary on certain criteria of maximum bandwidth and minimum hopes and these
paths must be loop free and node disjoined. Resources are reserved on both
primary and secondary paths and allocate those reserved resources to different
categories of traffic according to their priority on the basis of service
agreement made with network. We have designed the complete package of policies
and their relevant algorithm for implementation mechanism for allocating the
resources to different priority traffics and tried to avoid the route breaks. |

Abstract |
Classical algorithms have been used to
search over some space for finding the shortest paths problem between two points
in a network and a minimal weight spanning tree for routing. Any classical
algorithm deterministic or probabilistic will clearly used O(N) steps since on
the average it will measure a large fraction of N records. Quantum algorithm is
the fastest possible algorithm that can do several operations simultaneously due
to their wave like properties. This wave gives an O(sqrt(N) ) steps quantum
algorithm for identifying that record, where was used classical Dijkstra’s
algorithm for finding shortest path problem in the graph of network and
implement quantum search. Also we proposed the structure for non-classical
algorithms and design the various phases of the probabilistic quantum-classical
algorithm for classical and quantum parts. Finally, we represent the result of
implementing and simulating Dijkstra's algorithm as the probabilistic
quantum-classical algorithm. |

Abstract |
The area of personal and wireless
communications is a burgeoning field. Technology advances and new frequency
allocations for personal communication services (PCS) are creating numerous
business and technical opportunities. It is becoming clear that an essential
requirement for exploiting opportunities is the ability to track the dramatic
changes in wireless technology. One of the major challenges for future personal
communication systems (PCS) and personal communication networks (PCN) is the
capacity needed to meet the growing demand. PCS provides the user with an
all-in-one wireless phone, paging, messaging, and data service having a greatly
improved battery-standby time. |
